Halo 5 really shines in the multiplayer capabilities of the platform. It looks and feels great and is a lot of fun to play online. The single player campaign has you playing as Locke most of the time and the story wasn't as impressive to me as other Halo games (which I completed in about 6-7 hours). Plus Dr. Halsey is a little creepy without an arm. Still a great game and what you come to expect from the Halo series.

The online multiplayer is some of the best in the series' history. 343 really listened and took all the advice from the community. The campaign doesn't live up to the advertisements at all and seems to just stop the story in some places. That being said, its absolutely gorgeous, the set pieces are beautiful, and the gist of the story is really interesting for those paying attention. You have to pay attention though.

There's been a lot of talk about how weak the campaign is, but it has actually been good so far, especially for a FPS. The new multiplayer is also reason enough to pick this up. Maps for old playlists like slayer and SWAT are fun, but the really great piece is the new Warzone mode where your team tries to reach a point total before the other team by capturing bases and killing bosses. Lots of fun and replayability!

Say what you will about the multiplayer and the new additions to movement but this is a great addition to the halo universe. The dual perspectives of the 2 main characters really changes up the pace and story from the past games. Very reminiscent of Halo 2 which I appreciate

Hard to get over not having Co-op for campaign or even on live. The story was great and the game looks awesome but not being able to beat it with a friend/family member without them being on another xbox over live is just disappointing. Multiplayer takes a little getting used to with the REQ system. I still am not a fan of it compared to the usual Halo online experience.

Halo is iconic. Love it or hate it, its the game that started it all. It has evolved through the years, but at its core it is still the most aggressive, tactically paced game ever created. Think Call of Duty pros are great? Ask them to get 4 headshots on someone with a BR before they do the same to you. Campaign = great. Arena = great. Warzone = Amazing. Zero server errors. Definitely one for your collection.

I have been away from the Halo series since the original (had a PS3 and not XBox 360) so a lot of the lore is lost on me as an the adience. Beyond that, the game seems to be telling an interesting story and the action is great, cut scenes are pretty cool also. Plays like pretty much every other shooter which is both good and bad (no evolution of video games). The weapons are cool and so are the vehicles.

I love seeing that the franchise is being continued. Yes, the story is being altered from what Bungie originally intended. Yes, the original fellow bootcamp classmates for the Master Chief (John) are somehow resurrected into this storyline, despite us being told 117 was the last Spartan. But still, fun to see a refresh of the gameplay and interesting to see where this plot twist of a storyline is going..

I've been a Halo Fan since the beginning and have played every single Halo game released. It was hard for me to really get excited with this one since the HALO CE game was so poorly handled (matchmaking broken for way too long). With this version of Halo 5 there are a lot good changes they made. The updated graphics look great, and the 60fps really adds value to the single player. I personally feel that the 60fps has somewhat ruined the multiplayer. Its hard to describe other than it just doesn't feel right. Halo used to have its own feel, but now Halo 5 feels a little too similar to many other shooters in the genre. Using card packs as virtually the only way to unlock new armor/headgear etc... is really annoying. Leaving it up to luck is unfortunate, i'd like to think i'm working toward something. Over all its not a bad game, there are a lot of good things, but just about as many bad things as well. Thats why i'm giving it 3 out of 5 stars. Its worth buying on sale, but you wont miss much by skipping this one.

First off, if you've played Master Chief Collection or any of the original Halo releases, then you already know the multiplayer is going to be great. This is more of the same with new modes and a few key new modes. The highlight is Warzone, which has two teams pitting against each other (as usual), but incorporates some AI drones, as well as various objectives that teams have to fight over for additional points. I love this mode for the variety it brings to the franchise. Now onto the single player campaign. I finished it in about 8-10 hours on Heroic difficulty, and never really got stuck on any section. So for those wanting a true challenge, be sure to ramp it up to Legendary. In terms of story, it is not as compelling as the trailers and commercials made it out to be. I won't say more so that I don't spoil it for anybody. And the ending certainly leaves you wanting more, which is obviously just a setup for the inevitable Halo 6. The mission layouts are solid but not great, but have many more avenues to explore than in previous titles, something that smartly incorporates the 4-player co-op.. If you are coming just for the story, I would say just rent it due to the short length. But if you're like most and are coming for the multiplayer, then I highly recommend it.

If you are looking for a solid Co-op or Multiplayer game then this is definitely a great choice. The single player is also pretty well done however the story is very complex and many of the new characters and the events leading up to the opening of the game aren't explained. To truly understand what is going on within the series you would have to read some of the books released along side the games. Luckily you can just completely ignore the story and enjoy the game play which is just as solid as the previous games aside from the so so squad ai and one very repetitive boss who makes multiple appearances. The multiplayer on the other hand is great and I really enjoy the new Warzone mode which is kind of a mash up of Big Team Slayer, Zone Control, and Mini Side quests with AI Mini Bosses. They also did a decent job with matchmaking so it's pretty fast and not the crippled mess they made for the Master Chief Collection. Overall if you have some friends who also own Halo 5 or if your mainly interested in multiplayer go ahead and pick it up. If your looking to just play the SP and continue the story wait for a price drop and go read up on any of the Halo books you might have missed they are pretty much required reading to get the most enjoyment out of the new storyline.

Used to play all of the Halo games ever since the first xbox came out. The new Halo 5 is awesome the campaign is fun either solo with the Ai's playing with you or grouping up with friends. The legendary mode is probably the hardest to even play on. I had tried with friends and it's quite easy to get one shot (spoiler). Overall the online play is massive and way better then the previous versions.

Halo 5 continues the legendary lineage of Halo. The new squad based gameplay pleasantly surprised me. I was thinking Halo is going Call of Duty, but it is still Halo through & through. I would say get the game if your a Halo fan, FPS fan, or even someone who loves sci-fi and wants to play a game with a great storyline. The only problem with the storyline is that previous knowledge Will help ALOT.

Cop out storyline involving the Precursor/Forerunner Domain even though it was destroyed by the first firing of the Halo Array. Only 3 of 15 missions you can play as Master Chief. There are boss battles in this game. Three times it's one boss, once it's two bosses, and the last boss battle you fight three bosses at once. You have to always play with a team of three others, which don't ever do as you command, because it's obviously meant to be played with four actual players, which makes solo Legendary on this game a pipe dream. The graphics are pleasing, the story progresses nicely, although lacking, and the end is a cliffhanger, but emotional. This game is basically Destiny plus Call of Duty plus some Halo elements. I would not recommend buying it. Just watch a playthrough online.

I have played all of the Halo games, with Halo 3 being my personal favorite... up until now! Halo 5: Guardians is fantastic. Sure, it has been updated slightly to include subtle, modernized FPS improvements like aiming down on all weapons but It still has all the ultra smooth game play, beautiful scenery and engaging story true to the franchise. A must have for any Xbox One owner in my opinion.

The campaign story may not be everybody's cup of tea, but it was fun. I finished the game on heroic and I would say the difficulty is easier than Halo CE Halo 2 and Halo 3 with the exception of boss battles. You encounter bosses in a way, more so than in previous Halo games. The missions are designed for co-op play, although I played the entire game single player and enjoyed it, the bosses would be so much easier with a human companion as the AI team you command is underwhelming at times. The longevity and replayability is in the multiplayer, and this is the best Halo multiplayer to date. It keeps up with the times by speeding gameplay up, but still retaining that classic halo feel. It brings me back to my glory days of Halo 2. This game feels very well balanced and all weapons feel effective and useful. 343i will be adding more gametypes and all map dlc will be free! This keeps from separating your online population. When you play any multiplayer mode you earn req points which can be spent on req packs, which give you access to weapon skins across all game types and weapons and vehicles to be used in Warzone. You can purchase req packs with real money, but that is not necessary at all as you ear enough req points to be buy packs all the time with points. I highly recommend this to any fan of Halo, to any fan of shooters, basically to any Xbox owner. This is a must have game and 343i nailed it this time around.
