Graphics are beautiful. Story is awesome, and gameplay is smooth and refined. I just wish they had added multiplayer campaign mode to the Season 1 release... but it's expected with Season 2 this year.

Don’t let the fanboys tell you otherwise - Halo Infinite is the next gen installment we’ve been waiting for. Gunplay is clean, movement is fluid, and the graphics are epic. If I had to choose a downside, it’d have to be the lack of weaponry found in previous Halo games. But the open-world campaign, free multiplayer events, and polished gameplay more than makes up for not having Needle Rifles.

I found the story within the game to be much more engaging and concise than 4 or 5, without jumping around to so many different planets: it all happens one place in this game. However, key events that occurred between 5 and Infinite are never fully explained, and only revealing through audio logs, so the game starts off with a very confusing opening. The story is thus hobbled by knowledge that is only obtainable through novels and other tie-ins, and knowledge of the events of Halo 5 is critically important. I suspect the game would make much less sense to someone who has not completed Halo 5. The combat mechanics are much improved over 5, and feel more like the mechanics of 2, 3, Reach, and 4. When I aim and shoot a weapon it feels natural and none of the extra zooming-in for non-zoomable weapons like there was in Halo 5. The enemy chatter is fantastic and truly one of the best features of the game. There are both propaganda towers broadcasting enemy dialogue as well as the aliens themselves who talk amongst their group, including comments directed both at the Master Chief and at each other, with Grunts often the subject of ridicule by the other aliens. While there has been chatter in all previous games, it is much more fleshed out and responsive to what the Master Chief does in Halo Infinite. For example, if you kill a Brute with a headshot, other Brutes will comment on a brother's loss, Jackals may cry out that the enemy was too tall to avoid being shot in the head, and Grunts may simply freak out as being the next to be killed. All of the chatter adds up to being the most enjoyable experience the game offers. Graphics in first person mode are also highly detailed, even on Xbox One. On Series S/X they probably look even better. But graphics for the pause screen tac-map are blocky and rather imprecise without the ability to zoom in on any features. But the new physics engine is a joke. Sometimes you can shoot and enemy and he'll fly over 50 meters into the air for no reason. Even the Master Chief can be blown high and far from an enemy attack. The ragdoll physics ruins what is otherwise a "believable" game. The game shows other signs of very poor playtesting. Captions often to not line up with the dialogue audio. Captions are frequently a second or two out of sync but in one case I had it over two minutes out of sync. The audio message had ended well before the captions were displayed. The main menu is also problematic, as to continue the campaign you must wait for all online content to be loaded, otherwise the continue screen shows you the image of the saved location, but no continue prompt is given, requiring backing out to main screen to finish loading content. Fora game that has been out for six months before I played it, that's bad. Some of the boss fights are also terribly difficult due to the frequency of one-hit-kills they employ. The third boss in the game required about 100 attempts for me to master on Normal difficulty, and I've beaten each previous Halo game on Difficult. When the third boss (of about eight) is the hardest enemy in the entire series, constantly wiping you out in a single hit, something is wrong. I suspect damage done to the enemy scales with difficulty level, but damage they do to Master Chief appears to be pegged to Legendary. The lack of a compass on Master Chief's HUD is also a poor design choice. He had a compass in earlier games, even though it wasn't terribly needed due to the more linear approach of each level. As an open-world game for most of the first half, the lack of a compass creates disorientation, only solved by a multi-second pause to bring up the tac-map and determine your heading from the icon. Ultimately, the story is really good, the graphics are great, and the chatter is excellent, but problems in execution and playtesting sort of ruin it. I feel like there have been better Halo games than this. I get the impression that 343 Industries is still trying to find the winning formula Bungie produced. Closer than Halo 5 in many aspects (like combat) but so much further away in others (playtesting and physics) For context, I have completed all six mainline Halo games, as well as Halo: Reach. I played on Xbox One hardware. I do not find the multiplayer modes of first-person shooters very enjoyable, so I am focused almost entirely on the single-player campaign in Halo games.

Hey, my online name LA king Gamer, 23 I bought halo infinite got to say great gameplay. It’s a little bit challenging. They made the enemies a bit harder, but has a great gameplay the story graphics. The world is really much bigger from the previous halos, but the game is worth it it’s a lot of fun. A lot of upgrades on the guns definitely worth it.

Halo: Infinite on Xbox Series X delivers a nostalgic yet modern gaming experience. The graphics are stunning, and the open-world elements add depth to the gameplay. I like the Master Chief and his return feels satisfying, and the multiplayer mode offers intense battles. Overall, a solid addition to the Halo franchise.

Game of the Year 2021-2022! So much fun, reminiscent of the original Halo 1, 2 and 3. Actually a little easy to play, I started playing on Heroic difficulty (where I would normally start off on Normal), had no problem defeating enemies and made it through tough boss levels with repeated tries. Been playing for days and only 12% through the game so it seems like a massive campaign! Haven't tried multiplayer so can't review, but this is one beautiful looking and sounding game with perfect gameplay.

Campaign is a 5/5, gameplay feels good, it feels nostalgic but at the same so new in its own way, story is of best I’ve ever seen in a halo game, I’ve even in some scenes started tearing up, sucks there is no co-op quite yet, but that should come soon and multiplayer still has its problems, not with gameplay but content, there’s not even forge at launch because it was delayed 9 months if I remember correctly, but I’m not to concerned with multiplayer since it’s a 10 year live service with plenty of time to fix things.

I couldn't describe how excited I was for this game. Even with all the memes I was still excited. At launch though, it was only half a game. With lots of bugs, no co-op and a lackluster MP. But it has improved since then. Co-op is finally here and MP is starting to come into it's own. I don't play Halo games for just the MP. I play mostly for the story and this one has a good one but so many plot holes from Halo 5 that I was left more confused than anything. Where's Buck? Palmer? Lasky? Osiris? Blue team? I feel like Batman asking "WHERE IS SHE?" but I want to know. And yeah yeah, I know the gaps are kind of filled in through like 30 million books but I shouldn't have to read a book to fill in a storyline from a video game. Otherwise the additions to the combat from Halo 5 is top notch. The new suit abilities and upgrades are a welcome addition to the gameplay. It's got a semi-open world environment that really adds to the setting. I do recommend this game for anyone who is a fan of Halo or just likes a good FPS. Give it a chance.

So, I have not beaten the game yet, however after playing a few hours of the campaign, the fluidity of playing as Master Chief again feels very good! It reminds me of playing Halo back in the Halo 3 and the Halo One days as far as the look and feel in control of the gameplay. Obviously, the controls do feel more modern and respond better than they did from the original game, but if you have not played Halo in a while I recommend diving into this if you are interested I do not follow the lore and I'm not really paying for the storing, necessarily, so if you are looking for that type of feedback double check reviews on if the story delivers. I have dipped window into multiplayer before the current update as of writing this review and the online gameplay is good! Peace, Cam

Great addition to the Halo franchise. I've been enjoying playing the free to play multiplayer, great gameplay and iterative updates are helping smooth over any rough areas. I haven't finished the campaign yet, but probably about halfway through, and it's been an exciting departure from the traditional structure while keeping the spirit of the story intact. Are there minor quibbles? Sure, but I'm having a great time. Highly recommend to pick up this polished video game.

It's Halo, campaign only. So while it's not worth the full price, it is worth the discount. The story is compelling and after playing the multiplayer, I am already familiar with the weapons and gadgets. Master Chief is the boss and Cortana is the queen. So go blast the new faction of the enemy and save the day with a few witty sayings. The last couple of installments have went stale so this freshens things up a bit.

Halo Infinite is well worth your time and money. However, if you’re looking forward to the campaign, you’re in for a different experience. Gone are the set missions and set pieces of older titles; instead you have an open world to explore. I love the open world, but as someone who has played each Halo installment, I do miss the grand set pieces and stronger story telling elements. This game is very much an improvement over Halo 5 Mechanically in my opinion, but it looses staying power due to lack of content. That may change in the future, but right now the game is severely lacking in the multiplayer department of content.

Another excellent game in the Halo series. The campaign was very immersive and the graphics were really good. I have not played the multiplayer so I can’t speak on that, but if anything like prior games then it’s A1!

The Launch for the game was a bit iffy, but you can really tell they put a lot of time into the story as well as the design aspects of the game over all. They are still updating and making changes to the Muktiplayer side of the game as well. 343 has been openly discussing with the community everything they have been working on. The game is beautiful and I would totally recommend for the hardcore halo fans.
