If you like Halo you are crazy not to pick this up! It has all 4 Halo games in one game. The graphics and game play have been updated to fully utilize the Xbox One. The only issue I have is multiplayer has been buggy since launch. However, with that said, 343i is working day and night to get this issue resolved. Once 343i gets these issues ironed out, there is nothing more I can complain about.

Halo: The Master Chief collection delivers the best that Halo has to offer and boy oh boy does it look good in glorious HD!
What's not changed:
All the maps, the story, and every area of the games as you remember them are here. It's all been kept in tact perfectly.
What's changed:
*Graphical overhaul on all four games, more so on Halo 2 then any of the bunch and honestly that's the one that has always been the fan favorite and Microsoft did go all out to clean it up and it looks amazing.
*The cut scenes have also had an overhaul in Halo 2 which have been nicely redone here by Blur Studio, they are also slightly longer then the original.
*Halo 2 Anniversary multiplayer uses the six remastered maps, while a standard Halo 2 multiplayer includes all of the game's released maps with a full graphical update but no remastering.
* The Collection multiplayer includes Mission Setlists, curated lists of levels selected from throughout the series.
Extra content:
*Access to Halo Nightfall
*Access to Halo 5 Guardians Multiplayer Beta (not available until Dec 29th)
Overall if you love Halo you're buying this collection. It set the bar and it's not lost it's appeal after all these years.
This is pure fan service at it's finest and it's worth all the hype, and all the wait, and makes buying an Xbox ONE a worthy purchase.

What is there to say, if you are a HALO fan this is a must have -All four (4) Halo games on one disk.
If you have never played any of the HALO games before than again, you are getting four games to enjoy and this will get you caught up a ready for HALO 5.
The QUICK:
1) Play what you like, as you like it, the way you like it
2) Four classic games looking better than ever
3) Worth it just for Halo 2 & Halo 4
4) Multiplayer maps and modes from all four games
The DIRTY:
5) You have to Download the Multiplayer content
6) Multiplayer issues even after the BIG updates.
I purchased this because I wanted to re-play HALO 2 again...It has been a while. Add that I can replay the other three games and I was SOLD. Day One Purchase.

According to the description on the Best Buy website and also on the Microsoft online store it says this is a collection of 6 games. However When you go to play the games you will be prompted to pay more for the very first game in the storyline Reach and then later ODST. I already had most of these games, so essentially all I got with this is Halo 4 and I will still be stuck paying extra for odst. It’s best to dig out your old games if you have them because at least they will be compatible to play on the Xbox one or series x.

I received this item damaged, and customer service told me that they can't replace it because there is no more in stock, but if I decide to keep it, they can refund me the 10% plus $3.00 for compensation. When I called again to accept the refund, they told me that this refund didn't exist and all was be a confusion. The customer service was very deficient and they don't help me in anything. Is disgusting that I am a member from Best Buy since two years and they can solve a problem like this.

The single player experience is great - fans of the Halo franchise, or newcomers will be getting the best Halo experience available. The games look great running at 1080p, especially the first 2 which have benefited from a lot of improvements during their individual re-masterings. It's great to instantly switch between "classic" and "remastered" visuals - though it's odd that Halo 1 won't let you do it during cutscenes even though Halo 2 will.
Multiplayer, however, is a mess. Having worked in game development for almost 10 years, with Microsoft even, I wouldn't have imagined a game with this many bugs would actually get launched in this state. To date I have never successfully played a multiplayer match because every time I have tried I have met some kind of disastrous issue. For example: I bought this game for my brothers and I to enjoy together (we live in separate cities/states) - we formed a Party, joined matchmaking together, and somehow each ended up in separate games. Issues like that and a range of other baffling bugs (loss of control on load, crashes, loss of voice chat for no explanation)... It just makes this a really hard recommendation.
It especially sucks to come in to a game thinking it's 5/5 stars, a great experience, just to hit these bugs and feel like the carpets been pulled out from beneath you. I still feel ripped off and I don't think Microsoft is doing anything quickly enough to remedy the situation. The patch to fix many of these bugs has been delayed... and they announce plans to compensate players who bought the game *literally* a day before I did. It's insulting to suggest a "cut off" for reparations when literally EVERYONE who bought this game is suffering from the same poor quality.
I'll be more hesitant to continue supporting 343 with Halo 5 - especially after seeing how the beta only rendered at 720p. Come on!

Bought this game on release night. Great deal of a game.. you get Halo 1, 2, 3 and 4 with soon to come ODST. Campaigns and multiplayer combined, updated graphics and 60 frames per second, compared to the old and outdated 25/30 frames per second. Of course MM (matchmaking) has its issues, but 343 shells out updates and patches constantly.. in-time it'll be all fixed.. Finding games alone is pretty quick.. with parties not so much.. like i said.. soon to be fixed!!
Graphics and frame rates really make this game killer!! Campaign is super fun, always is! Matchmaking has everyone.. your everyday try-hards, MLG pros and the dreaded NOOBs! LOL!

Potential To Be Great

Being a big fan of the Halo series lead me to buying Halo: The Master Chief Collection. They did an excellent job of remastering the classic series from Halo 1-4. Integrating the new Xbox One graphics really make the game play pop. While it's practically the same story lines that we have all come to love, the remastering of the whole game still sucks you in as if it's nothing you've seen before.
While 343 Industries did a great job cleaning up and updating the campaign mode, they unfortunately dropped the ball when it came to online game play. From Day 1, the Halo servers have been experiencing issues that involved matchmaking. While they're working hard on fixing the issue, I will stand by my 3 Star rating due to the potential of the game that still needs to be reached.
I'm sure that this game will be an easy 5 stars once a patch clears such errors and the Halo 5 preview is also available. But until then, this game should be brought strictly for avid fans who would want to relive the older games that fit within the Xbox One standards.

My Childhood on One Disk

This is an incredible release that I have been waiting many years to buy. I probably spent 50% of my childhood playing Halo games with my friends. This title includes every Halo you need on one disk, and that is great. One small feature that makes it even more nostalgic is the fact that you can press a single button at any time during the story to change from the new graphics to the original. This really takes you back, and shows you how far Halo games have come since Combat Evolved. Unfortunately I have lost interest because the servers were terrible for the first couple weeks after its launch. From the few online multi-player matches I played, it seemed great. When playing online, they combine maps from every game in the series for the playlists, so during one match you could be on a CE map, and the next you might be playing on a Halo 4 map. Overall, this title is definitely worth the money, even just to play through the amazing story. Online multiplayer is fantastic when it works right, although the multiplayer server problem may be fixed already.

Like the orange box in the mid 00's, the MCC offers a great deal of value. Over a hundred multiplayer maps (several from the PC versions), the campaigns from 4 Halo games. Blur studios complete remastering of the Halo 2 cutscenes is nothing short of stunning. H1 &H2 are cinematic smooth in their gameplay. "I can't believe it's not butter!" comes to mind. All is not perfect though, there are some lighting issues across H1 & H2 where areas are extremely dark. More noticable it appears that with the increase to 60fps, like the Perfect Dark remake, enemy units will fire faster (like solid streams) and move quicker than before. Overall the issues are things that can be patched, and it is a great way to get into Halo for the first time, or if you want to get back into your armor to shake the rust off. Suit up.. again, with the Master Chief Collection.

You have to like the fact that there are four games in one game here with over 4000 gamer score to achieve. The campaigns look very sharp on Xbox One. Even Halo 4, which was only a few years old on Xbox 360 looks completely upgraded. The new redone cut scenes and graphics for Halo 2 are well done. You can really see the difference with 1080p and 60FPS.
The downside is the issues they have had since launch with spotty multiplayer. I know they are working 24/7 on this, but it the multiplayer for Halo is a huge part of the game and something you cannot have this many issues with. The games I have played have been fun and the maps and gameplay display the same great graphics.
Hopefully all the lessons learned for MP are applied to the Halo 5 MP Beta which this game gives you access to at the end of December.

I bought this game because I love the halo series, and it's been long since the last time I played a halo game, since I sold my Xbox 360, I wanted a way of replaying the series again and when I heard that this collection was coming on Xbox one I got very happy, a must buy if you are Halo fan, at the moment online multiplayer has a lot of problems but it will be fixed soon, for the mean time you have 4 amazing games complete with all dlc and 4 amazing campaigns plus Halo Nightfall and beta to Halo 5 multiplayer, dont miss your chance to enjoy Master Chief remastered running at 60 fps 1080p the Chief never looked this better and thanks to the Xbox one console.

Some people will complain because the games "could" have been remastered from the ground up or they "could" have added this feature or that, but overall, the games look great. They could have easily broken this up in to 4 full priced remaster's, but releasing one fully featured package at the price of one game is a GREAT deal. All the multiplayer maps from all the games! All the campaigns! And remastered to boot! Great stuff. No complaints here.

I have been a Halo fanboy for years, and as a result was stoked to buy the MCC. The campaigns are wonderful, the multiplayer is incredible with the overhauled graphics for Halo 2 and all that jazz....however, you MUST prepare yourself for some early day bugs that they are still working out. Multiplayer matchmaking is still super slow, and some awards/achievements don't always load when you should earn them. Nevertheless, it is a must own for Xbox One owners.
