    Computer repair service doesn't really exist

    Geek Squad computer repair really doesn't exist. Firstly, when you take your computer to the store, no one in Geek Squad wants to make eye contact with you or acknowledge your presence in any way--with or without an appointment (and appointments are required now). Then you're told that there is only one tech on duty -- if you're lucky. So even for small repairs, you will have to leave your computer. If your computer requires a part, you must locate the part and order it, then bring it back into the store with your computer. This is what we did. It took me a couple hours to locate the correct, name-brand part on eBay. When we took the part in, we were then told it wouldn't work, and that we should order a different part on Amazon for $10-20. So now our "free" repair under our maintenance plan will cost a minimum of $50-60 and involve a lot of running around. I don't think you can really say you do repairs if you don't have parts on hand and cannot order replacement hardware. By the way, Best Buy actually sold us the computer we're repairing.

    Not Certified for SSD Installation for Apple iMac

    Bad experience trying to install a newly purchased Samsung SSD hard drive for a 2012 iMac. I took my iMac to my local Best Buy Geek Squad, located in Cedar Hill, TX 75104. After talking to the geek squad customer service representative at the counter, I was informed that Geek Squad is not a certified Apple technician to make any hardware modifications, they can ONLY do software, not hardware. I'm very disappointed to learn this after reading all of the glowing apple hardware installation reviews on this site. Make sure you call your local Best Buy Geek Squad before making your trip. To add to the matter, I had to schedule an appointment with apple, one full week from today (7 days from now), to make an iMac SSD installation. This is what I was trying to avoid at all costs. Very Disappointed....Good Luck to all Mac users.

      Hello Guss – I’m sorry that you had a bad experience trying to get your SSD installed. It’s true that our in-store agents are unable to do hardware work on Macs. Did the folks at the store offer to ship the computer out to the service center for you? This may be something we could help you with by sending the computer out.     SSD Installation

    I dropped off my new laptop with geek squad at 10:30 this morning only asking to have them install the SSD Drive that i had them order for me a few days prior. Installation should only take about 15-20 minutes tops, I haven't heard from them since, and the online tracker shows that they haven't even touched it yet. If i had known that it would be all day, i would have just installed the thing myself.

    Misleading would not install my new hardware

    This is absolutely absurd. I bring my PC in expecting to have my new hardware installed which I purchased at best buy and they say "We don't do installs for custom builds". How am I supposed to know that based on anything in this description first of all and second of all the "custom build" was a pre built PC that I purchased from Best Buy. Absurdly misleading.

    Dishwasher Install

    I recently just had my dishwasher installed by a team that Best Buy employs. I was very disappointed. They left parts all over my counter that I have no idea where they go. I also didn't realize until they already left but now my disposal isn't working. They scratched some of my tile as they were installing. The list goes on.

    Purchased in 4/17 all appliances do be installed Made me go 6 times with a 4 hour windows and had to drive 40 minutes each one Job was never completed
