Geek squad did an OK job

We had some issues that were all eventually resolved but it kept requiring us to set up additional appointments and waiting weeks to have someone come out

Really disapointed

Because the phone system so bad wrong person comes first and have to wait another 10 days for right person to come. He arrives and no clue as to why he was there. Eventually Alexa got fixed but this is an ongoing problem. The Geek Squad does not seem to know what they are doing. You also cannot go upstairs to complain as they frown on complaints

Logitech remotes set up

Logitech Universal Remote - waste of money

Basically a waste of money (~$200). It required detailed setup and is not intuitive to use. You have to set up an email account first, and reprogram it every time you add or remove a piece of equipment. I find it much easier to use the separate remotes for the TV, receiver, and Blu-Ray player. I strongly recommend NOT buying this useless piece of hardware.

Misinformtion, much legwork to get refund.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The programming of an earlier purchased Harmony universal remote (at BB) was added to my TV purchase and mounting, to be used a spare. The BB rep during a pre-installation visit, told me that I could use both the TV and the universal remotes. The installers stated that only one remote could be functional for the new TV at a time. The universal remote remained not programmed and the charge remained on my account. When I called the installer to initiate a credit for the charged programming that I did not receive, he said that he could not prepare a credit and recommended that I go to the BB store where I purchased the TV, more than 10 miles away each way to request the $80 refund because I would most likely get nowhere with any BB advisors by telephone. I took his suggestion and the store personnel promptly issued the necessary refund credit. I feel that the installers were proficient if programming the second remote, both both could not be functional concurrently.

Geek Squad recognized alternative HDMI tv port

However, it this was the 4th visit from the Geek Squad to resolve this problem. The other previous Geek Squad teams were lacking in knowlege. The resolution was to move the HDMI cable to a different, working, port on the TV. I did not need to purchase a new TV. I am very disappointed in the 3 previous Geek Squad trips to my house to resolve this issue.

remote not working correctly

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, the installers called and rescheduled the appointment for late the next day. One of the two men worked with the remote and said we only needed to turn it on, then hit help and the TV would come on. It worked most of the time for him, but hasn’t worked since. They didn’t stay long, didn’t seem very knowledgeable and seemed to be in a hurry to get home...they were from the Quad Cities. Obviously, we were unhappy with the results of this appointment, but assumed it wouldn’t do any good to call back and pay for another call.

UGH!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.If I could give zero stars I would. Had to stay home from work all morning until 1:00pm for an install. Nobody showed up. Nobody called. I was the one who had to call to find out what’s going on. So I’m upset already and 3 calls on lengthy hold and subsequent cutoffs had me irate. When I was finally connected to a geek squad rep around 4:00 they were nice but immediately transferred me to the company they subcontracted the service to. Their service rep sounded like she would rather do anything but her job and was so rude and unhelpful. Phone call back to geek squad rep who apologized and said they would have the subcontractor get back to me immediately. Never heard from them. Finally decided to try to install myself and with a little effort finally did and requested a refund. TWO WEEKS after this debacle, the contract installer sent an email to schedule the install. It’s basically the subcontractor that’s getting this bad rating but geek squad has guilt by association with this crappy company. Plus their phone system sucks. They should drop this company fast. I get sometimes things go bad and you can’t get to my service that day but CALL. I could go on and on. Ughhh

Geek Squad Service

However after two failures to even show up for the appointments that they themselves set, I am less than impressed. Most recently this past Saturday, I wasted my entire day awaiting their arrival which never came and no one from Best Buy even bothered to call. Disrespectful of a customers time, to say the least.

Smart remotes fight for dominance.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.They fixed the Logitech Harmony one remote system for the half hour they were here, but we are right back to having the same connectivity problems again. Admit it, all the smart equipment remotes fight each other for dominance and Logitech can not overcome it as the smartest remote. Forget wasting you money on it. Just use the remotes that came with your equipment until all the smart remote manufactures come up with a universal standard.
