It's ok if you can get it started.. too much to do to get started tho...

The product works, but is in need of a signal amplifier or a better antenna.

Works decent takes a little long to change channels but works as advertised

Either I had the worst reception ever in my home,bought a lemon, or this tool was not overall great. Bought it, installed it, and it did not work well. It was slow, rarely showed video. Returned. If I have to spend more time trying to make it work than necessary, it's not worth the time or money.

The unit worked as designed and we got TV through the computer.

Was told this is what I needed came home to hook it up and was not what I needed. How to go back to store and return it.

Very weak performance. Does not retain channels, you must use an antenba that can "see" over obstructions homes etc.

Using a Windows 10 Dell Workstation-could not make it work. Good idea if it had.

Plugged this in my computer and stations kept fading in and out.

Good if you watch only one channel. If browsing through channels, program become unresponsive. Have to ctrl+alt+del to end program and restart viewer. Thought the higher price would equal better experience. My mistake.

This product makes it possible for me to use my computer as my TV. I use my laptop for all my media because I believe that the experience is more exciting. This TV tuner is perfect. From experience, I recommend having the nicest antenna possible hanging on a wall. I have a GE antennae from Best Buy that is not on the website. Since using a TV without a great antenna is so disappointing, investing in a great antenna is very important. I cannot put big holes in the walls where I live: so, I used a 20lb wall hanger and made an attractive sling with cooking twine for my antenna. The software is great! I had an older inexpensive HD 1080 TV, and the software would not work on the TV when using an HDMI cord. From experience, consider NOT USING a laptop near a TV or having an antenna near a computer. Where I live, NBC will not work for several days.

I had an old Hauppauge analog tuner before everything went digital. I remember it being cheap, basic, and reliable. The software is basic but it works well. My new DualHD tuner is the same. I got it going with no problem in just a few minutes it takes to install the software. I get 36 channels using a Mohu antenna. I am using an Intel NUC for a media server. I am still experimenting with the DualHD but so far most seems obvious. I have read complaints that the remote doesn't work but I think it is just a problem with not having a line of sight from the remote to the detector on the DualHD. The orientation is critical. What is really missing is an integrated scheduler and TV schedule but for what it costs the DualHD is a bargain. BTW, I got the best price from BestBuy.

The product does what it says and i am happy with it. I was able to use it with my home theater setup. I have with Kodi and use it to watch my over the air tv channels as well as schedule recordings. I found it works best with the NextPvr add-on in Kodi.

Products like this have been around for eons; but I haven't used anything like this. While I am not using the included WinTV software, it is a full-featured if a bit obviously written by a room full of engineers. A little bit kludgey, but it gets the job done and comes with a full-featured compact remote control that opens and closes the app and controls it just like a real TV. The real power of this thing is that it integrates with your Plex Server, and allows you to stream live TV on two different channels and turns your Plex server into a DVR. It could also work with cable systems whose digital signal was not scrambled, but over the air with the rather small included antenna I get about 65 stations. Not bad. And I can watch TV on my portable device, a laptop, even Apple TV, from any room in my house or any room in the world. Worth it at twice the price!

Hauppauge - WinTV-dualHD USB Video Recorder - Black Works pretty well, but I could never get the remote to work and now it's too late to return it. Not much support or instructions for it.

This did everything I wanted plus more! I was looking for something to record television. This does that and also doubles as a full DVR. You can pause Live TV or Rewind it and watch it again. You also can screen capture an image with the simple press of a button. After free registration with Titan TV you can even schedule shows to record ahead of time. The quality is perfect! Just keep in mind that the little antenna enclosed is only for very local stations. You'll be better off attaching a better antenna like I did. It did come with a little remote, but I haven't used it. This is really an awesome buy you won't regret.

I purchase the Win TV-dualHD USB on February 9, 2028. It worked well until around October1, 2018, when it stopped functioning. I spent hours trying to get the device to operate. I search the Internet for solutions. I Installed and unistalled all software and drivers. No luck. Hauppauge supposedly has a 2 year warranty. So, I contacted Hauppage and spoke with Jerry Henriquez. After talking with him for some time and describing what I had done to get the Win TV-dualHD USB to operate. He provided me with return instructions. I sent the device off to Hauppauge. Yesterday, I received the "repaired" (or not) Win TV-dualHD USB without any comment or information from Hauppauge. I set it up using the the WinTv app. The WinTV app reported "no Wintv product was detected. I checked Window 10 devices setup. It reported 955D (Win TV-dualHD USB) - "Driver Error". I then downloaded and installed the latest driver update from Happauge ver 35167. The driver reported "your card model number could not be detected. So, after hours trying to resolve the problem on my own. After spending time trying to convince Jerry Henriquez that there was really a problem with the device. After paying to ship the device to Hauppauge. Not to mention the purchase costs of the device, I have a device that does not work.

PROS: The hardware works well and found a decent number of channels connected to a Mohu Curve 50. CONS: The software is archaic and difficult to use. Could be a pretty good product with a modern interface.

The device was given as a gift. The recipient can now watch TV on their computer as they work.
