Nothing quite like it. The dread and terror you feel during Senua’s journey is just the result of the undeniable, beautiful effort that Ninja Theory put into this game.

A Chilling, Yet Brilliant Take On Mental Illness

Game is fairly short clocking in around 5-6 hours. Dives deep into mental illness and is not for the faint of heart. Enjoyed my short time with this game and hope to see more games tackle this issue.

Senua's Sacrifice is a masterpiece of storytelling, and the marriage of mechanical and conceptual design. While there are moments that feel shoehorned in to remind us we’re playing a video game, the care and attention Ninja Theory has clearly poured into Senua

If you're buying this game for the price, definitely do not buy it. Do some research before getting into this game because I can tell you that when I purchased this game from the $20 rack I thought I was in for a cheap treat but really I was in for a beautiful looking game that was boring and repetitive. For anyone interested in this game yes it's a gorgeous looking game that has some pretty cool concepts around it. Wearing headphones playing this was pretty cool since you could hear all the inner voices coming from all directions and just having a cool feel for the game however the puzzles in this game were so boring and repetitive that after I completed two of them I didn't want to continue the game. The enemies come out of nowhere sometimes and just bash you without warning or even seeing them since they just spawn right next to you. The combat was fun in the beginning but once you get into it, the combat just has no versatility. One final thing is that if I had not ready the little summary on the back of the box, I would not have known what this game was about. The game's story is so cryptic in the beginning that I had such a hard time being patient enough to see where the story went. If you have read this far save your $20 or if you really want to get a game that has that same viking/norse god vibe go for God Of War because that game is both beautiful and exhilarating with a great story. Also God Of War is $20 now and is probably cheaper if you're reading this review after 2021. So yeah go out and get God of War because Hellblade is a disappointment despite the "awards" it has received according to the box art. Do not be fooled by that.

Great game! Sad I’m a little late to this party. Highly recommend, but trigger warning for those who may have suffered trauma or issues regarding mental health.

I was really excited to play this game after seeing all the reviews. I'm just now playing this game now and though the graphics don't compare to GOW, it's okay. I guess I'm not being fair because the two games came out at completely different times, but I'll have to admit the graphics are not bad. The game play gets a bit repetitive too. I'm seriously running though this game as quick as possible so I can just say I've completed it. I'm playing it on hard mode so I think that makes it more interesting. Also, the game states that if you die too many times, you have to start from the very beginning. If that happens, I'll be done with this game and pretty upset haha. The game is suppose to run 6-8 hrs of play time in story mode.

This game is amazing. It is an amazing portrayal of mental illnesses and to see the feature that comes with the game allows you to truly appreciate all the hard work that went into this game.

Not your traditional storyline of redemption. Senua goes on a journey and battles demons within and without. Very dark lightning and mood. Best played in the dark for full effect.

The highlight of this game is the message and struggle this game mimics. The game play is minimal and simple. I did not care for the puzzles either. But I do feel it's worth a play through. I would recommend this game to a friend or family member.

The gameplay sucks; let's get that overwith. But the atmosphere and immersion in this game is fantastic, and well worth playing. Just be prepared to hate the combat when it does come up.

Great game, plays a bit better on PC, backwards compatibility on PS5 works great for it as well. Definitely need to wear headphones when playing for full experience - spatial audio plays a huge part in the immersion of this one.

This game is cool, you play as the hero and go around beating the baddies. However, I do have issue with them using bad words in the game title so I have to take a point off. Maybe if the game were called something nicer like Heckblade then I'd give it five star.

This game has a very eerie setting as well as brutal action. The psychological aspects of your character are interesting. Definitely a different type of game from other action titles.

For the price I highly recommend this game. It does not take long to beat but the experience is very unique. Play it with while wearing a headset if possible. Looking forward to the sequel, though that will be on Xbox.

The experience is one you should have. Sometimes it borders on not fun, but that’s actually the point. You play as an ancient Nord warrior with schizophrenia. So you are constantly hearing voices in your head. Tip: wear headphones for added immersion.
