    Underrated CD

I finally purchased this album to complete my Usher collection. Since I heard that it underperformed commercially, I was prepared for the worst. However, Here I Stand is a good, solid Usher CD. It is even better that his most recent CD, Looking For Myself. The album is Usher at his best: nice R&B ballads. This album is very ballad heavy, but I found myself being able to listen to the entire CD without skipping a track. Here I Stand is just as good as Confessions and Raymond vs. Raymond. You can tell by the lyrics on the album that Usher's marriage, to his now ex-wife Tameka Foster, was the driving theme. I feel the album did not get it's proper due because Usher changed his management team and fans were too busy disliking his wife. For any Usher fan that did not purchase Here I Stand or immediately tossed it aside, go back and give it another listen. You will enjoy it. Standout tracks: Love In This Club, Trading Places, Love You Gently, Lifetime, Love In This Club Part II, Here I Stand

    Usher Does It Again

Am I the only one who feels like they have grown up with Usher? Well, ya boi has another album to add to our collection. We have been hangin' on his notes since '94 and he hasn't let us down yet! When I was working at a resturant back in '02 he came through the drive-thru. I thought he was there to talk about our wedding planes so I ran outside to wait for him while he got his food but he kept driving so...... I guess not. Nevertheless he is now a father, a husband and one of the greatest talents of my generation. He has gracefully dealt with negative comments surrounding his ex-girlfriend and his marriage to the mother of his son. Yet and still he keeps crankin' out the hits! While I cry at night over the fact that him and I will never be together, I can't help but get on my feet when I hear the first single from "Here I Stand" called "Love In This Club". Then he makes you feel sexy(as if I could be any more sexy) with "Love You Gently". He nearly brought me to tears with "Prayer For You". And there's even a cut with Brooklyn's Finest, the Jigga Man himself. His second single "Moving Mountains", which he created with The Dream, is a powerful, in your face, ballad that basically lets you know he is a grown man. As I flip through the inside cover I am starring at just that. A man that handles his B.I. and knows who he is. Not one hint of arrogance flows from his spirit as he wears his signature "Usher" jeans. He ends the album with the perfect ballad titled "Here I Stand" which has the smell of jazz as it comes through the speakers. But the undeniably hottest track is....can I get a drum roll please.... number 16! What's the name of it you ask? What....you don't have the cd yet? *R&B Chick*

It's been too long since Usher came out with an album, but from the look of things, he just took that time putting together another solid CD. I'm sure everyone's listened to (and probably by now tired of hearing) "Love in This Club" in the radio, but with all the great songs in the CD, it will really take a long while before you get tired of this CD. "Moving Mountains" is probably going to be his next big hit from this album and it rightfully should. At the on sale price of $9.99 (or even $13.99 at regular price), this is definitely a CD you need to add to your collection.

Considering that usher has been m.i.a for the past couple years since his last album, Confessions, he came back with a bang! This album shows how much he's grown during the time that he's been away. He puts so much heart and soul into his music, you can't help but truly feel the song. I would recommend this album to anyone who wants to listen to music that tells stories in his songs.

The songs have a good tempo and are easy to dance to. This isn't his best cd but it is still pretty good. It was nice to hear something new from him.

This is definitely not one of his best albumst. He's albums usually out do each time one comes out. Well, that's not the case this time. I have to say this album is very average. There are about five to six really good tracks. Marriage has played a big role on this album. When you're a genius it still shouldn't effect your work this bad.

USHER DID A GREAT JOB OF SHOWING GROWTH AS AN ARTIST. THE FEELING OF THIS ALBUM SHOWS USHER IS NOT LOOKING FOR LOVE BUT IS IN LOVE AND MARRIED!! KUDOS TO USHER FOR HAVING HIS ART MATCHED TO HIS CURRENT LIFE.

This is one of his best yet. He has really showed his versatility in this album. His bassy and mellow hyms are stellar. Good one Usher, good job. Keep it coming for years to come, for sure.

Disappointing comeback, IMO. To be fair, it is very difficult to top My Way, 8701, and Confessions. And vocally, he's probably better than he's even been. But clearly, he's in a different place in his life and that is very much reflected in this album. But because he's in a different place, he seems a little wayward with his focus in exactly what he's trying to communicate. Overall, some wonderful tracks, but I have to do too much skipping to get to them.
