    I currently own a 50" Hisense TV for my living room and it is very good. The 40 inch in this review was quite frankly not good. There was about a quarter to a half an inch strip around the whole screen that was brighter than the rest of the screen. Not incredibly brighter, just enough to be annoying. I wound up returning it, and purchased a more expensive, but much better TV.

    Should have known better than to save money with an off brand. Worked fine for a couple months. Now just a black screen. I’ll toss this piece of junk and go with a decent brand.

    After 11 months, the light burned out in the TV and there is only a black screen to look at. I have never had a TV break on me until this one. I do not recommend.

    TV is decent and about what you'd expect at this price point. A glaring flaw, particularly for a "smart" TV, is that there's no ethernet port. This has to be the only internet capable TV on the market with no ethernet port.
