Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the exceptional picture quality and ease of use of this 50" Class 4K Ultra HD TV. Many also praise its affordable price and the inclusion of a 4-year warranty. While some customers would prefer a higher refresh rate and a more extensive app selection, the positive feedback on picture quality and ease of setup outweighs these minor drawbacks. The smart features and responsive remote control are also frequently highlighted as positive aspects.

I am surprised, amazing high quality sound, super clear and bright images. This tv exceed all my expectations and the best of all its very low price; 4 year warranty too. Also, Amazon, Netflix, Vudu, YouTube included as feature apps and many more. Also include WiFi and a web browser.

    No HDR = already outdated

I purchased this item on sale for only $329.99 on Jan. 3, 2017. My main reason was to find an HDTV that is 4K and compatible with the Xbox One S. Setting up the tv was a breeze. Once completed, you are rewarded with the beautiful and stunning welcome video that shows off the tv's capabilities.... along with one dirty lie: the demo shows the tv has HDR (high dynamic range). It DOES NOT. 4K is supported by HDMI (2.0) inputs 3 and 4, so these are where you would plug in your Xbox One S's hdmi output. Once you calibrate the settings, the Xbox will tell you that the tv supports 4K at 8-bits or something to that effect, but everything else is x'd out in red or yellow. Major bummer. HOWEVER.... Gears of War 4 looks absolutely stunning. You will see some details you'd never noticed before. For example, one of Reyna's character variation (I think it's Outside Reyna), look at her hair and you can now see her hair is jet black but has red highlights. If you look at her skin, there are visible freckles around her shoulders. Very impressive. Now, keep in mind that I noticed this when using the tv's Vivid picture mode. On multiplayer, unfortunately there is some slight lag using this mode. It isn't as bad as other tv's but it is there and is slightly noticeable (switching to Game mode resolves this, but the video quality suffers significantly). Lately, I have opted to simply keep playing on Vivid mode because it looks so stunning that I simply adjust my style of play to compensate (shoot a split-second before I normally would). As others have stated, 4K YouTube and Netflix look absolutely amazing. But unfortunately, without HDR (and no patches to download), this tv is essentially outdated. I would recommend this tv if were under $300, but for those trying to game on 4K, I simply can not. PROS: -Great speakers and sound features (I like the punchy bass and virtual surround sound, very impressive). -Gorgeous 4K capabilities particularly in Vivid picture mode. -Great apps available right out the box. -Easy to set up. CONS: -No HDR, no way to make it happen on this set, 4K gamers look elsewhere -One time, my HDMI input #4 kept flashing on and off for no reason, turned the tv off then back on. Why??? -Pretty much an outdated tv without the HDR feature it claims to have on its own demo.

Changing it up a little, this review is for a TV that's going on 7 yrs old. And still looks like it just came out of the box, picture and cosmeticaly. Has been just a great tv, beautiful clear picture for a low end 60hz. So if you wondering if a Hisense Tv will last I have proof right here!

Amazing 4K TV for the Price

Have had this TV for about 6 weeks now and I wanted to wait till after watching the Super Bowl on it to review. Was in the stages of making a man cave in the basement and this was kind of an impulse buy. Seen the smaller one (Hisense) in store on display (maybe a 42"?) that I was going to get until the salesperson said that the 50" is on sale for the same price. Picked it up, brought it home and hooked it up in the basement. Very easy to set up. Started watching 4K content on YouTube and it looked better than I anticipated. Colors and details just popped. Switched over to regular antenna TV and again simply awesome picture and sound. Put on a Bluray (Avatar) and also tried my Xbox 360 (Skyrim) and again the picture and sound were awesome and immersive. We have a Vizio HDTV upstairs along with a Samsung (bedroom) and this TV is a lot better in terms of picture detail, brightness, clarity and sound. The controller is extremely easy to use also. It's basic but works great. Menu's pop up quick and very seldom is there any lag. The true test was to watch some hockey, basketball and football on it. Very satisfied. Definitely completes my room. Oh and it comes with a 4 year warranty. Win Win. Needless to say had lot's of compliment on this TV during our Superbowl party and will probably buy a Hisense for upstairs to replace our Vizio.

    Awesome 4K TV

The reviews on Hisense were spot on! This is a great flat screen. The picture was clear and crisp; the built-in speakers are clear and provide nice bass and clean highs, plus the built in equalizer allows you to tailor things to your liking. The included Apps are great too - you get Netflix, Pandora, YouTube and a host of others. All you need to do is login in with you information and they're ready to go! The remote is easy and includes several quick buttons for certain frequently used Apps. I plan to mount it to a living room wall and purchased the Sanus BMT1 mounting kit (FYI: If you're mounting to a drywall with wooden studs, you need to purchase a pack of "TOGGLER 10-Pack 0.25-in x 2.5-in Yellow Zinc Toggle Bolts" from Lowes). It has WiFi connectivity or direct connect LAN; 4 HDMI ports (two 2.0 and two 1.4), a couple of USB ports and RCA ports for sound and game systems. Go ahead and commit - you won't be disappointed with this purchase!!!

This TV has exceeded all my expectations, the picture is just stunning, running my computer in 4k is an unbelievably positive experience. Text and pictures are razor sharp, lifelike even. I swear that it looks like you can just reach into the screen and grab what you are looking at. As a previous reviewer stated you must hook into HDMI 3 or 4 with a 2.0 cable to take advantage of the 4k experience. TV in 1080i or p is also great. The TV is nicely made, remote feels nice in the hand, good onscreen menu and common sense setup. Will see how this one last but have to say that I am impressed with the quality of this Hisense TV. Also noticed that Hisense has a great website, with specs and manual downloads.

No complaints - easy setup, great picture, great sound. Built in Roku would be nice but it is a Smart TV (opera). So you can still access most of the major apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. If you run a Plex server, there is a Plex app or you can navigate to the Video section and find your Plex server that way.

Great entry TV into the 4K UHD experience!

Pros: - Great value for money! - Amazing picture quality - Supports HDMI-CEC power on/off for supported devices - Really great feature set for a budget 4K TV - Offers same quality/features as many higher priced 4K TVs - 4 HDMI ports - SMART TV apps for those who don't have/want an additional streaming set box - Good buyer assurance with a 4-year manufacturer warranty Cons: - First one I got had a visual rendering defect (although I suspect the store associate knocking it over on it's side may have something to do with it and 2nd has had no issues, so not going to knock a star) - Only 2x 4K HDMI ports (other 2 are 1080p only) - No HDR in this model (although there's a similar, but more expensive, model 50H8C that has HDR if you really want this feature) Other thoughts: - Buy a proper 4K HDMI cable (with HDMI 2.0 support) to get full advantage of 4K feature set - Best Buy Price Match Guarantee Policy is awesome! Full Review: So, I just recently purchased an Nvidia Shield 4K HDR Android TV (also from Best Buy), and had recently been considering getting a 4K TV to take advantage of it's 4K streaming capabilities but for a long time, the high price of many 4K TVs had made this not really possible for me budget-wise. At the time of purchase, I got it for $349.99 (later got a price match for a lower Best Buy price during their Tax Days sale for $299.99), which is definitely within a reasonable budget for me. At this price, I feel like I'm balling on a budget and with my Best Buy Rewards card, I was also able to get promotional interest-free financing, as well. Although this TV set lacks HDR feature set, it does have native 4K resolution and really sharp image quality. Colors look vibrant and motion looks smooth. For apps that can render natively in 4K (like Amazon Prime Video and Netflix), video looks amazing. You can turn devices on/off and even control some devices with the TV remote or vice versa for devices that support it (i.e. Nvidia Shield TV can turn TV on/off when waking or being put to sleep, or Hisense TV remote can be used to navigate on apps/UI on the Shield TV). There's a lot of picture modes, depending on what you're playing on the TV, such as Vivid, which makes colors look bright and edges sharp, and Gaming, which is used for consoles and such and is more ideal for playing video games. At 1080p, you can adjust aspect ratios and the such. Sound on the built-in speakers is pretty good quality (although down-firing) and plenty loud, so for most users should be sufficient (unless you really want to use a sound bar). Just a note, the first TV I got had a pixelated vertical line from top to bottom right down the middle of the screen. I suspect this may be due to the fact that the store associate knocked it over on it's side when I was getting ready to purchase it. I returned it for a replacement at my local Best Buy with no issue and my replacement TV has been nothing short of great! Oh, and even if you're out of the return period for Best Buy (which is 15 days), Hisense has a quality 4-year manufacturers warranty and if you research their company, they have overall very high Customer Assurance ratings. I bought the extended 5-year Best Buy Geek Squad warranty, which was fairly affordable, for additional peace of mind. Wife is so jealous ever since I got it and know she says she wants a 4K TV for her room! It's definitely made a believer out of me for 4K video viewing and entertainment. Even if you're looking for a really good entry level 4K UHD TV, this one won't disappoint!

I almost never give reviews but reading the feedback for this TV gave me the courage to take a chance. I've had the 50" 4k for a few weeks and I'm very satisfied with the picture quality. I have a 40" samsung 4k in my bedroom and I"m not sure if the hisense picture is better but it's definitely comparable and for the $299 price point it's unparalleled in terms of value.

This TV is all it says it is and more. Hisense is proving that you can make a splash in the market without being one of the top American brands. This is an elite TV that compares very closely to similar models owned by friends and family. Only difference is you will save more, and get a better warranty should you choose Hisense.

The quality of this TV is unmatched for the price. I was skeptical at first but 4k looks stunning as well as normal 1080p. Make sure to use HDMI input 3 or 4 if you want to plug in 4k devices such as an Xbox One S. They are the only two HDMI ports that are 2.0 (4k).

All I can say is wow!!! Awesome TV. This blows my 2 yr old Westinghouse 1080p TV out of the water. TVs have really advanced over the last few years. The colors are perfect. Great and easy settings menu. Opera TV store is ok, I would have preferred Roku but no big deal. I'm really surprised at what $329 can buy, Why pay more?

I got this little baby on sale for $299.00. I needed a TV for my bedroom. This thing blew me away! What a fantastic picture! Great sound and easy set up. It's so nice I ended up putting it in my living room and moving the 4k Insignia into the bedroom. If your looking for a great reasonable 4k TV, you have to try this! I was considering replacing one of my TV's because it has such terrible sound and the inputs are not set up for US connections so I can't connect my sound bar to it which I need for movies. I asked the Best Buy employee what he recommended for someone who wants as much TV as possible for the least amount of money. He showed me a couple open box items then I came across this one on sale. I asked what his opinion was and his eyes lit up. He said its a great TV for the price, in fact the Best Buy managers had a meeting with Hisense and they all came back and bought this same TV. I asked if there were any TV's in the same price range that were comparable and he was adamant that this was the best TV in its price range. So far its working great. The picture is exactly what it should be and the sound is the best I've heard without using a speaker or surround sound.
