Just the highlights. Cons: poor viewing angle in non-4k content. Pros: Great picture. Functional smart TV features. Very good upscaling. Bought one for myself and used it for a month. Fell in love with it, so bought another for my (grown) son as a gift. He loves it too. Really, once you get it you will probably not go back to 1080p. The picture is gorgeous, and upscaling makes non-4k content look it's best. The smart features are not that important to me as I use a Nvidia Shield mostly to view content, but the built in features are convenient enough that I occasionally use them as well. Couple things that are important to me that are hard to find out: 1) When viewing local network media, the media player DOES do continuous play, and 2) it has a basic auto-on and auto-off feature. Summary: if money were no object it would be a tight race between this TV and a Samsung. Since money is ALWAYS important, this Hisense H8C is the best purchase I've made in a long time. Will look at Hisense again when it's time to go bigger or upgrade.

Picture is good does not handle 1080p up-scaling well but looks good with a 4k source or if the up-scaling is handled on the input device i highly recommend the nvidia shield for streaming set to output at 4k hdr looks as good as the built in amazon app in 4k but more options and non 4k content looks better

By this TV everything is great about it color picture functions are ez to work with. Price is great

I have had a great experience with this tv. Very easy to set up and picture quality is amazing.

I was skeptical at first when I bought this TV because I had never heard of the brand. But the sales associate had told me it was a really good TV and known around the world. So I purchased the TV and I couldn’t be happier. I got it on sale for 499 and I think it is a great entry level HD our television. The picture is great and now it’s hard for me to watch TV on my Other HD TVs because the picture just isn’t the same.

5 years plus, this TV still going strong, no problems. The only issue is that the app stores not updated oh, and it's kind of hard to remove apps without resetting the TV. The picture is still beautiful and people are still amazed by it. I'm actually looking for a 75 inch Hisense now.

The picture is crisp. The colors are excellent. The price was incredibly low compared to others.

My review is based on what you receive for the price paid on this TV. There are other tv's that beat this one in each category, but none come together as well in all aspects to beat the value this tv offers. 4K/HDR content looks sharp and wonderful. 1080P is also processed very, very well! 720P, while still crisp, starts to soften a bit, but looks as good as any other tv I have tried. The blacks are very black in this unit, which really makes the colors pop. The only downside, for me, on this tv is the viewing angle. I deteriorates rather quickly once you move off center or near center. I use this primarily for gaming on my Xbox One S, PS4, and Wii U. They are all razor sharp and play with no dicernable lag! I highly recommend this TV for the money...

I shopped for 2 months reading reviews looking for a TV. This is not a name brand but it has great color easy to use is 4k and has HDR. I can't complain. only thing is the volume is very low. . Which I think might need to be adjusted. other than that it is Great!!

The only reason the TV didn't get 5 stars is because nothing is perfect. This is close for sure, of all the 55in 4K UHD TVs that I looked at, this had one of the best pictures, best warranty, most ports, quick set-up and all around features for a terrific price in my opinion..

I love my new tv it fit perfectly in my room i love the smart tv features the colors are bright and vivid the sound is okay given I don't have any sound system installed. I would definitely recommend this item for someone else. Thank you Charlie for helping me choose this tv!!

This is a great entry level 4k for the price, they are a newer company but seem to put a lot into their warranty & hopefully their product!! So far so good, even if you do not have the capability of 4k it still has a sharp bright picture, the remote even feels good & not cheap, there are tons of options, multiple usb ports, even the sound coming out of the speakers is a surprise!! The sound is very comprable to the quite expensive more powerful sony soundbar set i bought my husband, so far even he is impressed & he isnt impressed often. We went from a 4 yr old best buy tv that was great then but the new tv is amazing, so far I am very pleased with the purchase! We havnt had any reason to contact customer service but so far its better then almost all 4k tvs even ones considered better!! I read many reviews on multiple site prior to purchase & with best buy price matching it worked out well!!

I read some negative reviews about this TV after I bought it so I will have to see how long it lasts (life of TV). But with that said, the picture is fantastic. I especially liked how easy it was to set up channels and link to my cable service, and to use the Smart functions (Roku, YouTube, Netflix, etc.). On a future TV, it would be great if I could surf the Net via Internet on the TV and add more Apps than those provided by the TV manufacturer. Also, the headphone jack is on the back of the TV. It should be on the front because it sure is a bugger to get to in the dark in the middle of the night when trying to not wake up my spouse. My old TV you could leave the headphones in all the time and still control the TV volume from the remote. Once all the way down, you could only hear via the headphones. I miss that functionality!

This is a great 4K TV!! Picture is Gorgeous ! Sound is outstanding! 4K content looks brilliant! No light bleeding! It now has HDR through HDMI! I have tried the big name brands but they always have a problem especially Samsung. With this TV No problems whatsoever!!! Great Price! And best of all 4 years of warranty! You cant go wrong with this TV!

Hubby and went tv shopping and couldn’t decide which tv, which brand. We were going to leave the store but went passed this tv. Smart, led, UHD, hdr for a great price. The picture is bright and crisp. Colors pop thanks to hdr. Lovvvvee it

This was an excellent purchase!! My old TV went belly up and I paid half what my original TV cost and it was bigger and a smart TV to boot. Great quality and the salesman was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I will shop here again!

I asked the staff at store about the HDR function of Hisense. He said it is not a real HDR but enough for gaming. I bought it anyway, was concerned about if ps4pro and xbox 1 s don't support it though. When I tested the 4K and HDR function via my xbox one s, it said the tv only worked for low 4K and didn't support HDR 10. I was annoyed but soon found the way to solve it. That is, you need to go to HDMI option and switch from standard mode to enhanced. And, make sure only HDMI 3&4 inputs work for UHD 4K and HDR. If you don't have a budget over $600, this should be a great choice.

I purchased this set for my parents to upgrade there picture quality. The setup was extremely easy and the remote is very simple to use, grandma proof! They love everything about it an the picture quality is amazing!

I recently bought a 50 inch but I ended up giving it to my Dad, so I went ahead and purchased this one instead because I noticed it went down in price. And this is the size I really wanted to get. It was the sweet spot for me. Especially after using the 50 Hisense version for a reasonable amount of time and I was sold at first glance. And after much research and anticapation I bought my first 4K TV. And it was worth it, especially for first time buyers that are not a budget, or perhaps college budget like myself. Colors and Darks, are rich and bright. Easy setup and easy smart TV to enjoy. I recommend to just about anyone.
