gave out
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially we were happy with the unit which was purchased 3 years ago. Then, about 5 months ago we began to notice dark patches on the screen. It eventually got so bad we were no longer able to read the descriptions. Approximately 2/3s of the top of the screen were dark.

Was look for the best value with quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After extensive research I found the Hisense 55h8c 55" 4k the best overall value. Great price! 4 year warranty was the push for me. I read many online reviews from professional reviewers. I agree with most of what they say but I've found this TV exceeds my expectations, And I'm picky. Really decent sounds and the picture quality is extremely good. Do some research before you buy. The HDR is a huge bonus for the quality of the picture. DO NOT CONSIDER A UNIT without HDR. This set delivers. I'd very much recommend.

Lousy!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would never recommend this brand TV to anyone. We returned the first purchase because it smelled hot...like burning electrical; The replacement would not even turn on. We purchased a different brand.

Excellent TV for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this set almost a month ago and the picture vs the price you pay is outstanding. The local dimming may be slow and may not have a lot of zones but when it shows dark or black scenes it goes black. The HDR really gives true HDR videos a nice boost in brightness, color, and contrast even if it doesn't do the specs 100 percent. The smart functions like Amazon actually stream smoothly over my wired network even when playing 4k content. Paid full price for mine which is still a bargain for everything you get and it even comes with a 4 year warranty once you register it online. This set blows away the 50" Sony 1080p led set I had before even just playing upscaled 1080p content, and looks gorgeous playing true 4k video. If your on a budget but want a nice 4k set to upgrade to this is the one for you.

Not Impressed - Returned
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So... a bit confused. I was looking for a decently priced 55" or larger TV. The in-store rep was madly in love with these TV's. Went back in the next day and a different in-store rep told me that the HiSense are great at first, but become very "blue" over time. Immediately returned the TV and didn't deal with that first rep again. Spent an extra $400 and bought a gorgeous Samsung 65" 4k. LOVE THAT TV!!!

Posted .The color of the display should not change over time, and could be caused by a number of issues not related to the television. We hope you'll consider Hisense again in the future. If you do, we're here to help if you need us at www.hisense-usa.com/support or by calling 1-888-935-8880.

Clumbsy TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No HULU app, the controller has an awful time connecting to the TV and it makes watching TV a painful process. Get a ROKU.

no luck
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hi, I purchased a tv at best buy and my tv broke as soon as I opened it. I was applying the feet to the television. Well the weight of the tv for one person was overwhelming. I tried to catch it with a screwdriver in my hand, well the fat end of the crewdriver and my fingertips caused the screen to break. I had it a good ole 10 minutes. TRIED TO RETURN, IT WAS A NO GO. WENT TO THE TRASH.

Not a durable product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently moved into a new home, a move that included moving 7 lcd tvs. Not one tv was damaged. The Hisense screen didn't survive a move from one room to the next, that is how fragile the screen is. Somehow my finger pressure on the screen caused a fracture. So be sure to buy the protection plan because Hisense will not warranty any screen damage.

Posted .The displayed resolution of this television is dependent on the source material, and you must be viewing 4K content to show the full resolution of the television. With services like Netflix, that may require upgrading your subscription. If you have any questions, please call us at 1-888-935-8880.

Great picture quality!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture quality. Easy setup right out of the box. Great value for the money. One small criticism is the Frontier remote, although easy to setup, only performs simple functions such as on, off, volume, ... you have to use hisense remote to change input. Probably not a fault of hisense.

Worst TV Ever
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is the worst thing I ever purchased. Apps do not work properly, and now nothing is working. It only turns on and black screen, I can not even turn it off without unplugging the power cord.

Can't Be Beat for the Money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the 50" H6C (non-HDR) last week to replace my 8 year old 42" Panasonic plasma that was still going strong, as I wanted a bigger screen. While the 50" did give me full HD, I was never overwhelmed with the picture. After reading several reviews here and online at rtings.com, I decided to give the 55" H8C a try today. The HDR update installed as soon as the TV was set-up. Man, you could tell the difference between the 2 TVs right out of the box. Everything just pops. While I know this is not full-fledged HDR, it is also $800 - $1000 less in price than those other models. The audio is pretty darn good and you don't need a sound bar to be able to hear everything clearly. Still playing around with some of the settings, but for the price you simply will not find a better set. I will edit my review in a few weeks to give you a more detailed impression.
