Worked well for a while then started turning off automatically. Called HISENSE but they won't repair unless I take it down before they get there. I live alone. Can't do it. So I have to unplug it and wait awhile then reset it to original setting everytime it turns off.

    Great TV for the money

So let's be honest--if you're looking at this TV for a 60" 4K TV then the primary reason is price. I can tell you up front that this is NOT a $2000 TV, nor will the picture compare to those TV's. It IS a very solid TV for the amount of money you will spend on it. Out of the box the TV is...big. It's also easy to set up. The two "legs" for standing it up can only be attached one way (which is great for avoiding confusion), look good, and are very sturdy. The basic set up is simple and walks you through step-by-step from the remote. It found my wi-fi easily. The usual annoyances of entering a long password with a TV remote are no different here than any other TV, but it is what it is. Once set up is complete it's time to watch TV! There are 3 HDMI ports, as well as a few other connections such as digital outs for audio, and a component input.(the number of inputs appears to be upgraded from previous versions). This was just the right amount for me. You can label any of these inputs with your own customizable names--a somewhat unique feature, since even the best TV's I've owned seem to have "preset" rather than customizable labels, so that's kind of cool. The apps that are included are nice, but lacking a bit. Netflix, of course, is a must for any smart TV, but the lack of HULU is glaring. As far as 4K sources go, Netflix, Amazon, Vudu and Youtube all offer some 4k programming at various prices. Assuming your internet is fast enough to stream 4k (I believe most sources recommend a minimum of 6mbs, but in actuality you likely want at least 20) then these sources look amazing, for the most part. 4K video in general is very clear and sharp, so anything reproducing that signal also looks very clear and sharp--this TV is no different. The picture itself is good to great, depending on the source, amount of light in your room, and various other factors. Again, the limitation here is that this is a very inexpensive TV. The contrast on the TV is not very good, and in a bright room the picture will be washed out, resulting in a very dark picture. There are things you can do to help correct this, but the TV doesn't make it very easy. My biggest issue with the entire thing is adjusting the settings. There are a variety of decent "presets" that the remote defaults to when you choose to adjust the picture. The frustrating thing is that after going through all the trouble of figuring out how to adjust the settings the way you like them, it "resets" to the default every time you turn it back on, unless you can figure out how to tell it to keep those settings. This is not an easy thing to figure out. There is (like everything nowadays) no manual to speak of, and anything beyond the basic settings requires digging around. Once you figure out how to adjust the contrast, color, sharpness, etc to your liking it's very frustrating to not have the TV save those settings. They can be saved, but it takes some digging to figure out how. Also odd--this TV DOES have HDR built in, but it's automatic and there is no way to turn it off or on. You will only notice this if you go to adjust the picture while a 4k source is playing. Then it tells you clear as day in each setting that it is utilizing HDR---this MAY be a quirk of the TV, but it would be a strange one. Honestly I'm so curious about this that I'll likely read some professional reviews to see what they say about it. I was very confused to see the HDR listed. I'll try and come back to edit to add pictures of the menu displaying it if I get a chance. The 4K playback is very clear, and very sharp, but it is also dark (as that is a reflection of the TV itself, not the 4K source). I would recommend this TV for a "movie room" or bedroom, that you know you'll be viewing with less light than a typical living room gets. In a dark room the darker picture is not as big an issue. The sound is fine, if basic. There aren't a ton of settings, but depending on where you're using it the built-in speakers will be fine (bedroom) or you'll want to use a surround system anyway (living room, etc). Overall if you're looking for a big TV with a 4K picture that won't break your wallet then this is the TV you want. If those circumstances don't apply and you want the best 4K TV money can buy....well, you'll have to spend a LOT more money than this.

What's in the Box ----------------------- 60 Inch Hisense Ultra HD 4K TV Mounting Base Summary Pro's and Con's ----------------------- Pro's ----- 1. Easy as Breeze Wifi, App Setup 2. Excellent Video Quality at a Great Price, Unbeatable 3. Good sound quality, not tinny 4. Vibrant Colors, Darks are Dark and Brights are bright 5. Price!! Good value Con's ---- 1. For Some reason the bottom part of the TV is slighyly bulky 2. Wish the Inputs were below the TV rather than on side Detailed Review --------------- So, i replaced by 4 year old 55 Inch LG 1080p TV with this 4K TV and i am very pleased with the choice. I tested this TV using both Netflix Ultra HD Content and Amazon Prime 4K content and the quality of the pictures are unbelieveable at this price. I have a Home Theater system and i believe most people who buy a 60 Inch TV should either have a nice soundbar or a home theater attached to the TV. I rarely use the TV speakers but whenever i did, i was fairly happy. The Setup was very easy and easily connected to my 5Ghz wifi network and the App setup and such as Amazon, Netflix and Youtube. IF you are using a Home theater system, you are obviously not using the smart capabilities of your TV because you have a Roku PRemiere + or Apple TV connected to your receiver. So, the smart component of the TV is of no use to me. Coming from a 1080P LG TV, this TV has made a lot of difference, i can view 4K content on netflix via my Roku PRemiere+ and i can tell you that picture quality is very impressive. My TV is at a distance of 12 Ft of viewing distance and i wished i had gotten the 65 inch version of this TV and it would have been perfect. Since the video quality is very good, at this distance 65 inch TV would really be nice. I also like the neatly arranged on screen display, very user friendly. Other features - the TV also has a USB Port for playing media, it has 3 HDMI Ports. Note: I read some reviews which say that the TV is dark when it comes to picture quality. The tv comes with Picture mode = Energy Saver as default, change it to standard or vibrant to get much brighter and vibrant picture quality

This tv looked great but literally after a year it kept turning off. I was told the motherboard was faulty but would have cost more to fix than replace. Extended warranty may be worth it.

The TV came in a large box and had 4 plastic clips you remove toward the bottom, after removing them the outer and upper portion of the box slides right off making it very easy to lift the unit out. I was surprised by the weight of the TV, it’s around 45lbs, which is super light. Inside the box besides the tvTV is a bag containing the instruction manual, remote, power cord, and batteries. The two stand legs are in the top of the box, you either have to cut the tape on the top or pull the Styrofoam piece out through the bottom. We didn’t attach the legs as this is being wall mounted. Powering the unit on you get the Hisense logo and then the setup screen asking language, time zone, and a couple other things, it also scans for the OTA channels if you have it hooked to an antenna. We will be using this as a streaming device and will use the built in apps or a Roku. The remote that came with it is more of a standard TV remote, not the “smart” remote that came with the Samsung, and I prefer that over the Samsung’s, there are things you cannot bring up easily with the Samsung’s and that why I purchased an original style remote for it and barely use the “smart” one. I much prefer the old style remote. There are plenty of inputs on the back, we are only using one HDMI input but there are a couple more for other things, plus a USB port, composite in and an optical digital out. If you are looking at the front of the TV the ports are all on the left, the power cord attaches on the right. We have a series 6 65” Samsung in our main living area so I can compare this one to that. There are plenty of apps that are already installed, the only one missing that we use on a daily basis was Sling, hopefully that will be ported over to their OS someday, otherwise we will be using a Roku 3 to stream Sling. The apps load pretty fast, and they seem to run a little faster than the one on the Samsung, enough to notice a difference. The layout of the Amazon app is different than the one on the Samsung and I actually prefer it better. Checking viewing angles the Hisense is almost as good as the Samsung, not quite as good, but at viewing height they are pretty close, there is noticeable color shift at very high viewing angles, but for this price range I was surprised. Neither of these are high end units so I didn’t expect much especially in this price range. Straight on the pictures are super close, although I haven’t fine-tuned the Hisense yet so I could probably get the images really close. I streamed “The Man in the High Castle” on both and the devices showed they are being shown in UHD 4k. The Hisense actually took a few seconds for the picture to adjust, when the show began it started at 720 then jumped to 1080 then to UHD, it only took maybe 30 seconds or so at the start for it to catch up, I didn’t see that problem with the Samsung, but it’s such a short time for it to do it that really doesn’t bother us. Otherwise the UHD image was nice and clear. Black levels aren’t quite as dark as they could have been on the Hisense but I may improve that after tweaking the image, but in this price range, I’m still impressed. On a black screen there’s a little back light bleed, not much, and it’s a lot better than the Samsung, the Hisense has a much smoother across the screen Black where the Samsung’s has very noticeable banding, this isn’t a problem at all while either unit is displaying an image. The big thing we noticed is the sound, the Hisense is much louder and clearer than the Samsung’s, can’t even do a comparison between the two there’s that big of a difference. There’s definitely more bass to it and with my poor hearing I could really tell the difference. Still not as good as a soundbar or surround system, but it’s very usable. For us this is a good TV for our spare living area and it didn’t cost much especially if you can get it on sale.

After 4 months I started with a problem receiving the remote control. Talk to Hisense and they then said they are the Batteries replace the batteries and it worked fine for a while. After 9 months of use, the applications began to freeze, I had to disconnect the TV and connect it to make it work. Talk to Hisense again and they never solved the problem. Now I have a TV that is only rubbish because the one year warranty expired.

Bought this TV after I had it 1 year 3 days it started powering off for no reason. We did the research as it is the company knows they have a problem with this TV. The recommendation was to bus a new power board so we did for like 60.00 after a week it started doing the same thing. So for me a very bad four hundred And something dollars very bad spent. Emailed Best Buy’s and no reply.
