I bought this television mid 2018 which began a subtle (but definitely noticeable descent to it's death this morning. It is no wonder that we have amassed more trash than bio-mass with this junk. Not even three years? Really?

Big TV for the price - Good Bargain TV

It's definitely a good tv, great for the price (I found it online for $499 after cyber monday). There is almost no information about the TV online, so the features it lists are somewhat confusing. I've read comments by Hisense that it supports HDR10 but I can't find any option for that, even under streaming services like Netlix. The contrast is pretty good - I don't think it has local dimming, but I've read a lot of reviews that say it's not really worth it unless you buy a TV with quality local dimming features. This is half the price of a TV with those features, and 5 inches bigger, so I'm not complaining. I did find an imperfection in the bottom corner of the tv - almost like dust stuck in between the LEDs. No dead pixels. The corners have an inverse vignette look to them on grey/black, but it is not noticeable during shows or gaming. All in all, this is the best TV I could find for it's size and price. It seems to be lacking a bit of features like local dimming and HDR, but it still looks great. My only real complaint is that the menu moves very slowly when using the remote, sometimes to the point where I have to press the buttons slower for them to work. Hopefully this will be solved in a software update.

I purchased this TV on December 2017. About 5 months ago, the tv began randomly shutting down. The Hisense rep walked me through the troubleshooting process of factory reset. Which would temporarily fix the Issue. Now, the tv won’t even power on for more than 20 seconds. Now that I am out of my warranty, Hisense cannot do anything except recommend a repair. The TV has been regularly updated and well taken care of. I even bought another power supply cord which did not change the outcome. Still having issues. I’m somewhat disappointed because the BestBuy rep swayed me away from buying Samsung or LG towards Hisense telling me they “skip the middle man” and is virtually the same TV. Not happy about my selection.

I spotted this tv at an amazing price on Best Buy’s website. The tv offered many great functions from the description. Once I got the television home and I began to go through the settings the screen began to flicker and bounce to every setting, but the one I wanted. The tv volume went up to 100 and as I would try to turn it down it would bounce back up to 100. I couldn’t control the volume and I couldn’t go to settings because the tv wasn’t functioning properly. I returned the tv the very next day. If the tv would have functioned properly this would of been a great deal. I ended up exchanging this for another tv, that cost more, but I’m happy with it

We have recently been advised of an issue on certain TV models where the TV volume changes without user input. Our analysis correlates this with certain third party universal remote control applications (for example, the Peel universal remote app) resident on smart phones or tablets in the same local WiFi network sending a command to the TV to change the volume without user input. You can resolve the issue by uninstalling such applications from your smart phone or tablet. If the issue persists, please contact the customer care center for the third party application. We hope you'll consider Hisense again in the future. If you do, we're here to help if you need us at www.hisense-usa.com/support or by calling 1-888-935-8880. Hisense

So I want to go ahead and give a technical run down of the TV itself to clear up any confusion about the TV because unfortunately information about the TV is scarce. It is indeed a 4K Smart TV, but one of its biggest features isn't even advertised on the box! It is actually HDR10 compatible as well and it looks really top notch for a TV under the $1000 price range. While the 60" just doesn't feel that much larger than the 55" it replaced I can confidently say that if picture quality is what you are looking for on a large TV under $750 then this is definitely a safe bet. I really like that the remote that is included has the dedicated buttons for Netflix, Amazon, Vudu, and Youtube. The major catch is finding 4K HDR content. I have a setup that heavily compliments it including an Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, and a DirecTV box that has at least some level of 4K HDR content. I would imagine that this is one of the best setups one can have with it. One could also go with 4K Blu-Rays that also have HDR support with the understanding that Dolby VIsion is not supported, but I'm not disappointed by it because it is a feature that is usually on higher end TVs, but the price to performance on this TV is quite preferable. Optical audio is also supported on the TV and while I like my home theater headphones for it the speakers are also quite loud although rear facing and as such not necessarily the ideal setup. I would recommend a sound bar to compliment the setup. It does have a light in the lower left to indicate that it is in standby mode and I appreciate it. Overall if the TV holds up well then I will be quite impressed by the TV and will happily recommend it. Good job Hisense!

Worked well up until today when the board went out. Only had a 2 year warranty. Definitely avoid, no reason for a TV to only last 29 months, especially with as little as this one has been used.

If you are in the market for a budget 4k TV, this Hisense TV might just be for you. It supports all of the specs you would expect, 4k, auto upscaling, and HDR which do look great. Don't get me wrong if you place this up next to a TV of similar size and double or triple the price you will see a difference in picture quality; contrast, color representation, etc. But, for the price I think you get a really good picture. My only complaint is that it can be somewhat hard to see when a really dark scene is displayed. The smart features are pretty good, it comes with the basics that will get you by, Netflix, Amazon, Vudu, YouTube, and a ton of no name random apps that I've never heard of. They all work pretty well. If you've used any of these apps on other smart TVs or streaming boxes, you'll be right at home. I did have some problems with connection issues. I have a very good router, less than 20 feet away so I doubt connectivity was the problem. I wouldn't buy this TV for the apps, the picture quality for the size is well enough to justify the purchase. Overall, very nice Budget TV.

The TV works well, the problem is happening when using controller, you need to repeat the command several times to get it done, it looks like bad battery ( obviously not the case). Don’t buy it!

If you are looking to get into 4K and not break the bank, Don’t need a lot of useless bells and whistles and not concerned that it is not a “big” name manufactured TV – this is the set for you. I wasn’t sure where I was going to place this but I was so impressed I moved my main family room Samsung UN65ES8000FXZA 1080P TV - which a few years ago was 4 times this units cost – to make room for it. This is no slap at Samsung it just illustrates how quickly advances in TVs and competition have driven down prices and raised consumer expectations. Comes in a box that once you remove the 4 lock handles on the sides - the box slides right off. It was easy to attach the stand legs (I used a piece of Styrofoam from the packing to raise bottom of TV up to attach). Weighs about 45 lbs. Has 3 HDMI inputs, 1 USB 2.0, digital audio out and antenna - all connect on left side of screen. Straight out the back is 1 component/composite, audio out and LAN connection. Power connection is on back right side. Also there is a service port which is supposed to be used only by technicians for service. Positives; Easy to setup as TV presents step by step onscreen instructions to setup wifi and date/time. Supports 5GZ AC wifi as well as hard wired LAN, which I didn’t use, as I have Orbi AC3000 mesh network and was able to stream 4K Netflix using wifi only with no issues at all. Picture quality is very subjective but I do agree with some others that the presets seem dark. But every 1080P TV I have initially had the same issue. So I spent a bit of time trying different settings on this set. Using Theater option as my base I wound up with these settings; Backlight – off, Contrast – 55, Brightness – 55, Color – 53, Tint – 0, Sharpness – 5, Overscan – On, Color Temp – Low, Digital Noise Reduction – Medium, Active Contrast – Off. Once I set this up the picture was very good watching 1080P HD Cox cable channels including movies or sports. The 120Hz helps. The picture was GREAT when I streamed 4K content using its built in Netflix app. I also have a 4K blu-ray player but don’t have any 4K DVD’s. However DVD player up converted blu-ray to 4K and it looked great on TV as well. Yes DVD player did the up conversion but wanted to include. I tried attaching a USB thumb drive and it played M2ts formatted videos with no problem. Comes with a lot of apps installed and has an option to add more. I am only interested in Netflix and Amazon at this time and they have dedicated tabs on the remote. They load quickly. Has several sound options and while not the greatest sounding it more than matches any of my Samsung or Sony TV’s. Remote is pretty well thought out with fairly large and tactile buttons. But isn’t fluorescent nor does it have a “light” button – so not easy to use in dark room. I found the onscreen options, etc. well thought out and easy to follow. Screen looked good from all the angles we watch TV from. Negatives(?) The 2 stand attachments are towards the outside edges of the TV – not in the center as most other TV’s allow. This requires a larger table to set it on. I was able to get it to work on my current table, but just barely. My 65 inch Samsung using center stand fit easily. It does however allow an area to place a soundbar. Not as thin as some other TV’s. This is not an issue for me since I am not planning on wall mount but wanted to mention. It is about twice as thick as my Samsung. One advantage of this that occurred to me is it makes it more sturdy when moving around or mounting. Digital Audio out does not pass thru Dolby if watching cable or dvd. Same issue as Samsung. “Only” 3 HDMI connections. Again not an issues for me as I was able to connect my Cable, DVD and Chromecast. Only 1 USB and it is only 2.0. I wasn’t able to find a “display” function to easily show me the TV resolution so I am not sure if this TV up converts non-4K content. Overall a worthy option to explore if looking to get into 4K TV.
