Would have been a great value for the money had there been no issues. There was a line and three dime-sized dots of dim pixels that were pretty obvious while watching. I ended up returning it.

I had bought a cheap Hisense 40" TV for my back patio and after five years of living in the elements and the bugs without so much as a hiccup, I decided that when I was in the market for a living room TV that it would be a Hisense but all Hisense TV's are not created equal. This thing had one issue after another from the time that we hooked it up until the day that Best Buy replaced it. I would buy the cheap Hisense again but never the expensive one.

    Decent 65” 4K TV

This is a nice mid range TV. 65” is huge by most people’s family room standards and the screen is capable of some very impressive displays. However, it is not a top of the line TV and as such it does have its drawbacks. Before I get into the TV itself, let’s talk about the packaging. When you unbox it, the stand is tucked into the back of foam that protects the top half of the tv. This means if you have an experience like mine and the foam gets caught in the box, the stand will be missing and may take you a bit to find. Also, a word on the stand, it looks nice but is one of the more annoying set ups to install. Its in two pieces and must be screwed in from the bottom. This just makes it irritating to put together, but overall not a big deal. Setup was easy and they really want you to use the google assistant. Setup was pretty easy once I realized that the search window to find the tv is actually very short. If you are like me and waited for the TV to tell you to connect to your device before turning on your phone you’ll probably miss the window and it won’t find the tv. Just go back and restart the process while your phone is searching and the tv will become viewable again and everything will work out ok. Once I was set up and the tv was connected to the internet, it did to a software update, which actually went pretty quickly. To get the voice command to work you do have to separately pair your remote with the TV. The remote has both Bluetooth and IR built into it and the IR works great right out of the box, but you have to go into the device settings and add a remote to get the additional features, like voice command, that rely on the Bluetooth connection. You also need to be logged into a google account to get any of the voice commands to work. The manufacturer really wants you to use google assistant, which I can understand is kind of the latest trend, but to me it just didn’t add much value. I typically know what I want to watch and have pretty quick access to it that talking into the remote doesn’t really speed things up too much. The one exception was finding something on youtube. Talking into the remote is undeniably faster than using the remote to scroll through an onscreen keyboard to peck out your search. If you are the type to cruise youtube a lot on your tv, this will probably be invaluable. For me, it was a fun thing to play around with, but it didn’t add much for me. In fact, I’m actually thinking of disabling it because it makes things too easy for my 3-year-old and a random babbling from a toddler has already brought up one video of questionable content. Easier is not always better. Now for the viewing experience. The picture when running 4k content looks amazing. I watched Aquaman in 4k and everything was clean and crisp with great details and colors. The action sequences looked good without any stuttering or other distortions to the picture. Once you drop down to lower quality sources you start to see where this tv is a bit more of a budget friendly tv. The first clue is in the advanced picture settings menu, here you have 10 settings. Some are expected of any high end tv and some of the calibration settings are even more advanced that I’ve seen with other tvs which could lead to some really nice fine tuning. However, motion enhancement (the setting that causes the hated soap opera effect), motion clearness, noise reduction, digital noise reduction, and active contrast, are all settings that make me worried. My experience is that each of these settings are really manufacturer’s way of cheating when the TV can’t perform as well as competitors. The TV alone can’t handle accurately displaying the inputs for any number of reasons and these types of settings tweak things to use software to essentially cheat and hopefully make you not able to notice the TV’s shortcomings. The 7 picture modes attempt to manage these advanced settings in a way to predict the flaws in picture quality that will be apparent in each of these major types of content and adjusts the tv to compensate for them. I still need practice to know which type of content fits best with each type of picture mode, but the tv does an admirable job of smoothing things over. 1080 and 720 content will look ok overall, but won’t look 100% accurate. My PS4 games just didn’t look as good, occasionally a bit grainy, or in other ways, just not quite right compared to my more expensive tv. However, they still looked good and I probably only noticed the difference because I had a higher end tv to compare against almost side by side. My kids didn’t notice the difference, so I’m guessing that for many this tv will work just fine, but if you are really picky about image quality, you may want to spend more for a higher end tv. The lower the quality of your input signal, the worse the picture is and the harder the tv has to work to cover up the issues. I cut the cord a long time ago so I did not check any airwave channels, but I suspect this is where someone would feel that limitation the most. I also noticed that when I ran Netflix through my Roku the pictures were worse for the non 4k content than if I ran Netflix directly on the TV. I suspect that it has to do with the TV being able read the digital information straight from Netflix rather than just the image from the Roku so could make any necessary adjustments more easily. For now anyway, I’d recommend streaming directly to your tv as much as possible rather than through a device plugged in by HDMI. The internal speakers on the TV were good and every year companies are able to make better sound from smaller and smaller speakers. If you used the built in sound you should be able to hear things easily, but given the size of the TV you are probably like me and have the TV in a fairly large space. I attached this tv to sound bar and it made things much better. Built in speakers just can’t be expected to keep up with a sound bar or surround sound system. The HDMI control from the TV over the soundbar worked great. Both devices turned on and off together without a hitch (my soundbar is a Sony in case that is relevant to anyone), and the ARC works just as it should. My biggest complaint with the TV is in the software developer’s choices on certain settings. First, there is no auto off function. My other TVs had a power saving mode that will shut everything down if not in use for X number of minutes. Normally I remember to turn my tv off, but I have kids and they don’t always do so. It would have been nice to include this feature. The other complaint is that the picture settings I talked about earlier to compensate for some of the TV’s limitations are automatically changed all the time. This may be great for some people that can’t tell the difference between modes and just want to avoid any potential issues, but for me it drives me crazy. The thing I hate the most is soap opera mode. I’m glad the TV lets you turn this off (some tvs won’t) but if the TV detects certain types of source input it will adjust your settings and turn it back on. I hate having to go back into the advanced settings and turn it back off again. The programmers really should have made an option to lock down the picture settings if you don’t want them to be automatically changed. I’m a bit picky, I know. Overall, this is a fantastic mid to high range TV. It can really show off your 4k content and has a great overall picture for this size. They’ve chosen to do a few things in their settings that drive me crazy and filled it with features that I don’t care about that I’m sure is going into the cost, so it loses a star for that; but I would still recommend this tv to a friend.

it didn't even last me 6 months. Now I'm just trying to get a repair person to come out and fix it. The volume keeps going up and down on it's own and muting and system message keeps popping up on the left side and staying on continuously. I tried doing factory reset and a firmware update no luck. When it was working it was amazing but I have to buy a new cheap TV just a use while this one is getting fixed hopefully it's not going to take three weeks or more

First off I have to say, WOW! The size, the picture, the Smart features are amazing! 65 inches of greatness! This TV is stunning with the screen off. I Really like the choice of gunmetal accents around the bezel and the stand.(the pic on the box is misleading as it shows no bezel and there is one, but its little) It looks so much better and more expensive than black (Boring!) or silver. The picture is absolutely beautiful! There are of course many settings to adjust to make it a picture that you love. you can have everything bright and vibrant to jump of the screen, or more realistic and subdued. My favorite is "theater night". The backlight does get super bright. I'm sure it would be bright enough to watch in direct sunlight! The upscaling so far depends on the source i think. some is better than others, but mostly it does a decent job. (sometimes it decides to turn on the "soap opera" effect when it wants) I'll have to find the setting for that... Sound on this TV is quite impressive, however i do have it hooked up to my theater system to take it up a notch. The Choice to use Android TV as the smarts was a great one. I'm soo used to my fire stick, it is taking some getting used to, but it's great. I love the fact that i can walk in the room and tell my TV to turn on! The processor is nice and snappy. A few days after setup everything seems to be running smoothly, Setup took awhile... be prepared to spend a couple hours hooking it up, entering passwords, waiting for downloads and updates, and updates for the updates while they're updating. "normal stuff in this day and age" It's really not too bad. The remote feels nice in the hand, buttons are well thought out, right where they should be. I would have liked to have seen some of the same metal that's on the TV on the remote. Class it up a bit. In the week I've had it I really cant find anything i don't like about it. Well, maybe the standby light is a bit bright ;) Also have someone else on hand as the TV has some heft to it.

Quantum Tech For a Serious Bargain

Samsungs QLED TVs have been seen as a direct competitor to the OLED take over in the high-end TV market. Of course, the "Q" stands for quantum dot. Samsungs QLED TVs have been seen as a direct competitor to the OLED take over in the high-end TV market. Of course, the "Q" stands for quantum dot. However, for a 65-inch quantum dot TV you are usually looking at dropping some pretty serious cash. Not anymore, as time goes on tech gets cheaper, we all know that. I am sure Samsung would have loved to keep the monopoly on quantum displays longer, but Hisense has entered the market with a shake-up in pricing. Which by the way, I do not want to appear like I am bashing Samsung, they make great TVs. However, I think this is better than the rival Samsung $1100ish quantum TV. I say that with great respect as I have been using Samsung TVs for over a decade, I was a loyal fan. This TV has taught me something, Operating systems matter. Hisense is using Android TV. Oh boy is it quick, responsive, and full of features. Let’s go over some of the features that stood out to me: 120hz native refresh rate Excellent local dimming Chrome Cast built in (4k casting support) Google Home built in (And Amazon Alexa if that is your thing) Far field Microphone technology Android TV OS Buying a TV has basically turned into like buying a car. You want all the latest features; you want to be future proofed. Truth is, right now is a good time to “future proof” yourself TV wise. The only real “leap” on the horizon is 8K. With that said, lets be honest… There is still minimal 4K content. So, I do not see the 8K revolution manifesting anytime soon. Buy a well-priced, feature rich 4K TV right now as this is a good time to find value. Hey, this Hisense H9G is pretty incredible. Maybe this is your next TV. One thing is for sure, you will be happy with TV in your living room.

Barely 15 months after taking delivery of this TV, the power board has failed on the device. HiSense has informed me that they cannot extend the warranty or perform a one-time repair. Biggest mistake I've made. As soon as warranty expired TV suddenly had a blue vertical line down right side of screen. Hisense wouldn't help since warranty just expired. I wasted $1000. Never again will I buy Hisense. What use is all the new technology if TV won't last more than a year.

This thing is Beyond a Beast, It’s a Lycan!!!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I missed the opening release of the H9F last year and by the time it became available again in February 2020 I knew the H9G was coming in 4 months so I waited; DEFINITELY not disappointed for waiting!!!! This tv is punching at top premium levels as far as Picture quality, bright colors, deep deep blacks, motion is beyond smooth, easy to operate but not perfect Android operating system. I have a 55” Samsung Q8FN which is another beast. Ive been comparing the two, while Q8FN has a sharper image, a lil more detail and more saturated color, the H9G has better motion deeper blacks, wider color gamut plus I haven’t had a chance to fully tweak the H9G yet seeing I just got it 2 days ago. They both have about the same brightness, and I think I need to hook up a Ethernet cord directly to my modem for stronger internet connection, as some tones look a little gritty as far as ppls faces on the H9G. But as I said with some good tweaking or even a good professional calibration this thing will look as good as or better then any high level Samsung or Sony QLED/LED, if your questioning whether to get it don’t, just go ahead and pull the trigger, at $899.00 Hisense is practically giving this TV away I can’t believe this is not even their flagship model this year with all the features and specs it has. I will be amazed at what the dual cell can do what it’s image quality will look like. Another good feature is the speakers are decent and Dolby Atmos is surprisingly good for built in speakers, even though I have a lg sound bar and subwoofer hooked up to it which works well, no lip sync issues like with previous models, it seems Hisense has improved all around each year they improve and upgrade their models unlike some other brands. I haven’t tested any gaming on it yet but will post an update soon. I can definitely foresee the Hisense H9G being one of the bestselling and most popular QLEDs of 2020. If your not buying an OLED I see no reason to not go with this unless your looking for 2.1 features specially, that being said for the price you might as well save money and grab this deal and Upgrade when more perfected tech comes later in 2021 or 2022. But It would’ve been nice to see this in a 75” version too.

The first thing I noticed about this TV is that it seems to take quite a while to turn on. I'm assuming this is due to the amount of the apps that are loaded on the set. The remote has dedicated buttons for streaming apps. This is a nice feature to have and is great for our son as it makes it much easier for him to use. The colors on this set are really good. The black levels on this set are so-so. I haven't spent alot of time calibrating this set, there are alot of settings to toy around with. We primarily use this set for watching tv and movies. We replaced a 10 year old samsung F series with this set. We also have an LG C7 from 2017. Both of those sets seem to have a better picture than this set. However, that's where the price will come into play. The Samsung and LG were much more expensive when new compared to this set. At the same time though, I expect the picture on this set to be better than my 10 year old Samsung. There just isn't quite as much clarity on screen compared to the other sets I own. We also use this set for our Nintendo Switch and it looks really good but not quite as good as other higher end tvs. Overall we're really happy with this tv for the location it's in as well as what we're using it for. Set up was pretty easy. The android function (apps/web) are really done well and extremely easy to use. The bezel on this tv is really great. More and more Televisions are manufacturing tvs with thinner bezels. The set is extremely sturdy for how thin the screen is. This is something that actually looks and feels much better than the LG C7. Overall I'd recommend this TV to anyone shopping on a budget that doesn't mind not having high end television.

The Hisense H9G Quantum Television has not stopped impressing me since we got it. The picture quality is so stunning. The colors are so vibrant and the black areas are darkest I have ever seen on a television. Watching movies or shows is 4K HDR is such a major upgrade over my previous television. It is like watching movies at an IMAX movie theater but getting to stay in my pajamas. Android TV is really great and has all the apps I need to watch all my favorite streams and shows. This television detects and changes the picture settings based on what I am watching, like movies, series, video games or sports, so cool! I really love the design of the television and it really fits in my family room. I love that they bezel around the screen is so small, it almost isn't there which helps make the screen seem even bigger. My kids love playing video games on it because they look some much better with HDR and Motion Sense. I can't recommend this television enough!!! I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion.

I am a brand loyalist when it comes to choosing TV and I always considered flagship models. This is a great budget television with excellent picture quality and sound system. The contrast ratio is good a full-array local dimming feature. The HDR content also looks great because it gets bright enough to make highlights standout. It also has dedicated Google Play, Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube buttons, and a Goggle Assistant voice control button and you can easily maneuver. The H9G has a Screen less Mode that lets you use the TV to control other Google Assistant smart home devices such as lights and thermostats, even when the TV is off. Its affordable and on par with other high end TV's that offer same feature for more price. H9G also offers comes with easy to use android OS, hands free voice control, thin bezel design. Flip side: It is little bulky considering other competition televisions as it weights 59 lbs but otherwise a great purchase.“I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my review”.

As many of you know, the Hisense H9F was the hot set to have in 2019. It stood ground with OLED's and other sets costing twice as much. Now just imagine that the few shortcomings were eliminated and performance boosted even more.....you get the H9G. Just perfect, and one of the few sets that make you go wow every time you turn it on....No DSE....just big and bright and clean...........smoothest motion possible. (and no, you don't need HDMI 2.1) All this for 900 bucks? Great job,Hisense !!

I have been very impressed with the picture quality of this TV. The blacks are very black and when the screen goes black between shows or commercials, it looks like the power is off. The colors are bright, the picture is sharp, and it's very enjoyable to watch. I wasn't sure about the size, having upgraded from a 50" to a 65" but I'm happy I selected the 65". I've got a pretty large living room with a vaulted ceiling so it works well in the space. I like the very thin bezels. The only negative I have is that when the screen has a lot of white it's very bright, almost blinding, but otherwise the picture doesn't seem too bright so I don't think I need to adjust anything. Also I initially enabled the advanced picture control but it started bugging me when it kept showing a message at the top of the screen saying it was adjusting for "series" or "movie" or "sports". It didn't always detect the correct type of program and in most cases I couldn't tell any difference when it made the change, so finally just disabled it. I like that it has android built into it along with some of the popular services. Overall very happy I upgraded to this TV. The television is awesome! It was super easy to set up. Even for my parents who I had to buy one for after I saw how beautiful the picture was. I love the apps that come with it and you can add apps as you go. Older people may not love the Android aspect seeing as you've got to put an email etc. I love it myself. Tying my phone into the tv and having a voice activated remote make this thing easy to use nomatter what I'm trying to multi-task. But the star of it all, the noticeable feature that's impossible to ignore are the colors. The screen itself is awesome, you can view clearly from any spot in the room. The colors are so vibrant and the blacks are velvety rich. Its a beautiful picture. The kids had cartoons on and it was so pretty I remember literally saying "WOW" My family was over and my nephew is a gamer and he absolutely loved it. This tv, so far, delivers in every way I could want it to. If you are looking for a new television then please do yourself a favor and buy this! For the price it definitely can't be beat. Honestly, I'd stack it up to any competitor that costs double the price. There's so many features I can't wait to play with. It's really made our family closer because everyone wants to use it!

Okay I really do not leave reviews much, but I heavily rely on them, maybe that makes me a “leech in the system” haha. Anyhow, this TV IS DOPE, Only issues I see from my inexperienced eyes are that when the TV is going through heavy action scenes, I sometimes feel like I lose the clarity on the objects, perhaps the screen locally drops in resolution at the point of movements. I do not know if this is content based or what but I am still playing around with it. Secondly, the reds and warmer colors are a tad too bold, which sometimes leaves skin tones too bright on some settings. This is easily fixed in some other picture settings, hence this is is a very small matter. NOW THE PROS: Almost everything else is perfect. Superbly OLED level blacks, great clarity in most scenes, very bright, excellent contrast. You will NOT find a full array TV that hits all marks for 2021 even close to this price range. Next step up is the $1500 price mark and then you might as well buy OLED
