A nearly perfect television
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV performs significantly better than its price suggests it should. The image has a lot of depth, and the blacks are very deep. It is a fantastic value proposition, and I honestly would not suggest any other LED tv for any price. It may not fully compete with most OLEDs, but it doesn't need to. There are a couple of minor negative things, but they aren't enough to deduct a star rating: 1) I don't mind the fairly old-fashioned style/layout of the remote, but the lack of button backlighting is annoying when watching in the dark. 2) When watching Dolby Vision content, there sometimes appears this red-ghosting during certain moments. Apparently this is an issue with this model that many others have, but to me personally, the ghosting is very momentary, and I've only seen it in Dolby Vision HDR content. 3) Android TV is very fast on this TV, but certain apps just aren't designed well (i.e. Showtime). This isn't a knock at Hisense at all, but because it comes with Android TV, it's something you need to live with. Despite these things, I would absolutely recommend this TV to anyone who is primarily using the TV for movie and TV watching. Maybe not the best option for gamers, but definitely one of the best options for everyone else.

Budget? Or Premium Flagship.?
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Answer: Premium Flagship.! I've only had this TV a couple days, but I'm beyond satisfied.! I had a Sony OLED that I had to sell last year and was looking for something that was budget friendly with great picture quality. With the Hisense H9G, I've found exactly what I was looking for. This TV is awesome. The quantum colors are just gorgeous, bright, and vivid. That's probably because this TV can achieve 1000+ nits of brightness. I can honestly say that i enjoy this TV as much as my Sony OLED, if not more, because this achieves greater brightness levels along with awesome color and smart local dimming. I am currently binge watching the Mandalorian, and I'm amazed at how the the local dimming works when viewing scenes with the little bright stars that are often scene in sci-fi films. No matter the content, I am amazed by the picture quality. Motion is great.! Which is to be expected with a native 120hz screen. Although most content is only max 60hz, the motion handling in this TV is superb in addition to the awesome color and brightness. Sound quality is good and the TV gets loud. If you're in a large room I'd recommend a sound bar, but in a smaller room no sound bar is needed because the TV gets very loud. This TV is truly a hidden secret amongst binge-watchers and TV fanatics. There is a reason this TV always sells out fast. I'm so glad I waited for the new H9G model since all.of the H9Fs were sold out in my area. This outperforms other models that are significantly more expensive. Do yourself a favor and buy it. If you dont like it, take it back...but you wont!

Incredible picture, incredible value
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought a TCL 6 series last year and have had no complaints at all, but this is in another league. So much brighter, sharper, and better blacks. Family has learned to love the Roku interface, but this new android seems snappy enough so far. Remote is not great, you really have to aim it in order for it to register. The wifi Roku one has spoiled us! Would definitely recommend

This TV makes you question why you’d pay more
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Out of the box, picture is good. Dial in some settings it’s fantastic! The max level of brightness is really all you’ll ever need. I didn’t see any screen uniformity issues on my unit. Motion is pretty fantastic. If you use any motion enhancement smooth or clear is what I would recommend but I usually have it off. The nice thing is that picture settings can be applied to all sources. Also the HDR settings won’t effect your regular picture settings. It switches automatically when watching HDR content...a plus. Game mode latency is around 14ms which is plenty good. Yes it’s 4K 60 but I think if you have an Xbox one s or above you can put it in 1440p@120hz. I’ve seen others do it. I’m not sure about PS4pro but none the less the tv is capable as it’s actually a 120hz panel. I can’t comment on smart features as I keep my TV offline and use a Roku ultra instead. I don’t want to risk an update nerfing the TV and is also the only reason I’m docking a star. Sound is just ok...i would say with any modern tv your best bet is a sound bar or some external sound setup. Excellent for movies! All in all a VERY solid tv from Hisense. It really does make you wonder why you would pay more for some of the other brands. Again I would keep it offline though and stream by other methods.

Good TV for the price
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture on this TV is beautiful. The blacks are very inky. When watching movies in a dark room, I do not notice any blooming, when there is a scene that slowly fades to black, the TV is super dark its like it is turned off, you don't see the leds gradually turn off in the back like other TVs I have seen. The colors are very deep and bright, especially on SDR content I had to adjust the back light. On HDR content it looks beautiful. There is some judder that needs to be tweaked in the motion settings. After the latest firmware patch they did fix the blooming and also the some of the stutter. I would have given this TV 5 stars, but unfortunately I didn't come out lucky in the panel lottery. From what I read about the H9G there is a Red motion blur issue on scenes in motion. From I have been reading some people don't have this experience and some do. It was confirmed by Hisense that some of the panels are affected. The licture looks great but the red motion blur at times are very distracting and and really bad. I am hoping to turn this tv back in and see if I can swap it for another H9G. I would recommend this, but again its just a matter of getting lucky and getting a good panel without the motion blur

Great picture and HDR performance
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The colors are great, gets really bright, androidtv is nice to have built in. low input lag and has been great for gaming.. produces great blacks for an LCD, so far really impressed considering it is so much cheaper than Sony or Samsung equivelants. It performs better in HDR than the Sony x900 or samsung q series. however, there is a panel lottery, like with every TV manufacturer (even the expensive ones). My first one was great for a day then had some local dimming issues that produced huge dark spots. Best buy exchanged it for me no problem and the new one has been great.

Amazingly bright and stunningly sharp!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So first things first, this TV is replacing an old plasma TV that I got in 2008. That plasma had the deepest blacks at the time. It was unheard of and used as a reference TV for all the trade shows I went to for years after it was released. So this TV had some big shoes to fill. And oh does it! It has so many pros and just a few cons. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my review, but I write honestly. Unboxing the TV is nice and easy. Make sure you have 2 people for the 65" model. All the accessories are in the styrofoam that is left in the box and you have to fight to get out (stand, remote, power cord) so make sure you do. The stand was easy to mount to the bottom of the TV and makes for a pretty stable base. I put the TV up on the shelf and routed the cables (using the built in channels to keep them neat!) to all the source and started it right up. Be ready to go through a bunch of setup and software updates for the initial onboarding. The TV runs Android OS so it has all the apps built in and you have access to the Google Play store. Also have your google account info to login using your phone or whatever. Once you are through that, I would go check out rtings.com setup pointers to dial in the picture a bit more. Out of the box it feels (for me) too vivid. The reds seemed too much. I did some picture setup and brought it more inline with what I like out of my TVs and man oh man, this thing will blow you away once dialed in! Throw on a 4k nature show like Our Planet and be prepared. The brightness is unmatched in a set at this price. The black levels are nothing short of amazing. It's comparable to a many thousand dollar more OLED TV. I am able to watch TV in a bright room with 4 glass doors reflecting on the TV without an issue. The picture is razor sharp. So onto the one issue. It appears on some TVs, but not all. When watching certain HDR or Dolby content, if there is fast moving action between light and dark areas of the screen, you can get red trails that appear momentarily. You can adjust the settings to minimize them (if I turn on game mode it seems to be a decent compromise), but it can be quite distracting. I don't notice it often, but when I do, it stands out to me. The issue (I have been told direct from Hisense) is known by them and the fix is being actively worked on. They are very good with rolling out software updates so I think it will be a moot point. Overall I highly recommend this TV and am very happy!

Excellent Value and quality
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tv was extremely easy to unpack and setup. Smart features of the tv work extremely well in logging in and signing into different applications. The picture quality is the best quality i have ever had in my lifetime of owning televisions. Extremely bright and perfect picture. I would recommend this television to anyone that i would know. The value of this television also blows any other TVs in the same “class” out of the water at the price point. the menus and features are very easy to navigate. menus and choices are very easy to understand and change to your liking. I have watched numerous different kinds of sporting events and have noticed how clear the picture is. When you have a baseball game on you can see an extremely clear difference of the field and have and extremely clear view of the ball as it travels across the screen. It show absolutely no streaky picture what so ever as the camera follows the play as it unfolds. When viewing hockey games I have never experience such clarity of the ice surface with being able to distinguish differences and nuances between the players and the ice surface. I am throughly amazed at how I am able to see the players talking to each other on the bench during the play. The tv’s video quality also prevents the picture from blurring the puck as it travels across the screen. When utilizing the smart portions of tv I thoroughly enjoyed the ability to stream anything off of any platform. The clarity of movies and shows when streaming come through completely clear as if they were not streaming and they were live television. The streaming capability were extremely impressive. The colors shown during the streaming media was extremely impressive as well. There were no signs of any pixelation or blurriness in any of the streaming media. I enjoyed the ability to download or delete applications that I may or may not want on the television. The ability to change and customize the television i in a way that is in best operation for my requirements is an excellent feature. The chromcast feature works extremely well with no delay in streaming media from any mobile device to the television. Overall excellent value and would absolutely purchase a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th time. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my review.

Fantastic tv
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this tv based off a rtings.com recommended. Couldn’t be happier. Gorgeous picture, excellent motion handling, and the built in Android tv is pretty good. HDR for games and movies is beautiful and it gets crazy bright. PS4 pro and pc gaming is great. I’d say it’s on par with TVs twice the price. Overall I’m very happy with it.

Incredible performance
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV performs as well as any TV I've seen. The motion, peak brightness, color saturation, and black levels are amazing at any price. Dolby Vision content is just breathtaking on this display. The only reason I can see to not buy it is if you're a hard core gamer who really wants HDMI 2.1. But for the rest of us this is by far the best TV I've seen for under $1000, and is one of the best I've seen at any price point. The construction seems solid. I like the brushed metal and chrome trim on the bezel (which is very narrow). The android OS functions brilliantly. I guess if I had a complaint it would be about the responsiveness of the remote. It seems like I have to be very deliberate in how I press buttons when browsing through menus. But honestly that's pretty freaking minor. I have a surround sound system, but I did try out the TV speakers. They're pretty good. Better than I expected. After using this TV for a couple of weeks I'm very happy with my purchase. No, you want see OLED level blacks on this TV, but you'll get close. And the brightness blows OLED out of the water. For my money there's not another TV I've seen that I would even consider.

Great picture...a little glitchy
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture on this TV is phenomenal for the price...truly amazing quality. Blacks are insanely good for an LCD TV. The software is a little glitchy, but it works ok. Again, for th price, you can't go wrong. The brightness is crazy as well. So if you have a bright room, consider this TV as an option.

Good Stuff
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Owned now for a year and a half and it still astonishes me. I think the picture quality is better now than when new due to break-in. I did put in the color adjustments from rtings website which seems to balance color a bit. I've been holding my breath and hoping no quality issues cropped up so I think I can relax now, I don't game on it so no red ghosting in normal media use. The ULED formula of high levels of brightness and quantum dots with quality processors has turned out to be a winner. I have Sony A8H oled and X950H and I prefer the Hisense display, especially for OTA tv. The additional brightness of the H9g propels it above these. One bit of advice to make colors really pop-- in advanced settings for picture in *color space* change to native. The auto setting is probably more accurate color for afficianados but the additional color saturation is more visceral in direct mode. All in all this is a great tv, now a generation behind the U8g but it compares very favorably to that tv except in gaming and a bit in brightness.

Amazing at first, then came the issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.when I first got it the picture was amazing, blacks were excellent, HDR was crisp. I thought for sure I won the panel lottery compared to other reviews on different sites, then about a week watching movies in HDR started having a very noticeable red motion blur, and weird red hues around people in certain scenes, usually a low light indoor scene, and it just started to annoy me to the point I stopped watching it and currently boxing it up for return. I tried contacting zhisense technical support but spparting ghr phone system "glitched" me to the hone theater dept who knew nothing about tvs (oddly another common issue on forums) and said he would send my ticket to the tv dept and I would receive a callback, then hung up without even getting my number. Needless to say I never heard back so they can have my tv back and that will conclude my business with Hisense.

Deep blacks and great colors
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was an upgrade to my TCL 55 inch series 5 tv. The difference is amazingly and immediately clear for the better. Black levels are dark and rich, highlights are bright but not overblown, colors are more vibrant but not artificial. Out of the box, it is set to energy saver. With this mode, there is a slight soap-opera effect. I set mine to Cinema Day mode and turned off all the other extra settings. The results are great and I got rid of the soap-opera effect. While this tv operates on Google Android tv platform, I use Apple TV as I have invested in purchasing movies from them. I find the quality I get from Apple TV (Netflix, Apple TV+, Hulu, Amazon, etc.) are actually better than the build-in Android tv even on the same tv settings. That was definitely a pleasant surprise. The quality look like my brother's Sony OLED tv he paid an arm and a leg for. All in all, while this tv isn't cheap, I feel money was well spent on the quality I get for the price.

Well rounded TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hisense H9G is a well-rounded TV with impressive overall performance. The contrast ratio is good a full-array local dimming feature that helps the TV display extremely deep blacks, and it has incredible black uniformity. HDR content also looks great because it gets bright enough to make highlights standout. The viewing angles is a bit narrow and even though it has a 120Hz panel i did not experience any issues playing games on it there was almost no flicker or lag. The TV is not perfect out of the box and needs some calibration. The TV carries the same old clunky long wand remote with 39 buttons and a four-way arrow controller, and offers the usual 0-9 number pad, volume and channel up/down buttons, a menu button, and video control buttons. It also has dedicated Google Play, Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube buttons, and a Goggle Assistant voice control button. None of them are backlit, however, which makes it hard to find the correct button in the dark. As an alternative, i was able to control the TV using an Android TV remote app via my phone. The H9G has a Screen less Mode that lets you use the TV to control other Google Assistant smart home devices such as lights and thermostats, even when the TV is off. Also the TV weights 59 Lbs there are other TV that are larger and lighter than the H9G. Out of the box i got 2 notifications for updates and each updates took around 10 -15 minutes to complete. Also, this TV is affordable and on par with other high end TV's that offer same feature for more price. H9G also offers comes with easy to use android OS, hands free voice control, thin bezel design. So, if you are on the market for a budget 65 inch TV then this TV is right there with its picture and sound quality. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my review.

Amazing
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Where to begin? This TV is just AMAZING!!! From streaming to regular cable TV to playing video games and watching sports, I have not been disappointed!! While watching my shows I can literally see the actors/actresses goosebumps, scratches, hair follicles etc! It feels like these people are actually in my living room!!! First day of football season was last week and it was simply amazing to watch! We play fortnite on here often, wouldn't want to play on any other TV now. I also love that you can say "hey google" and it plays whatever you ask it to without having to press any buttons!! The color and picture is definitely on point! I have it hooked up to my soundbar and it just simply sounds amazing! I can literally watch the TV perfectly from 3 rooms away. Very user friendly. Set up was a breeze as well. I have never had a TV with such great picture as this one has! Anyone looking to buy, you won't be disappointed!! Definitely worth the money!

Hisense H9G Impresses!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My oh my can this TV get bright with and with deep blacks. Whiles still present, Hisense did a good job at tamping down blooming with more dimming zones and the software algorithm. I initially ordered the H8G 75" about a month ago however has been delayed due to lack of availability so I picked this 65" H9G up on Saturday at the local warehouse and so far my initial impressions are extremely satisfied. As many reviews have said, this TV punches way above it's price point putting Hisense on the map a areal contender in the Quantum dot arena at a more attainable price point. And while I didn't buy it based on the built in google assist field mic feature, I really like it a lot as you can say out commands without the remote. Hope Hisense offers it in a 75" and above soon.

Great TV for the price!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally got one. Manf date of Sept 2020. Great screen uniformity. Latest firmware update came upon first startup and fixed blooming issue previously reported on from other reviewers. Very happy with this TV. Colors are near perfect, not seeing the issues others have reported having and have seen from YouTube reviews. This thing is bright, HDR content looks fantastic. Was seriously looking at a Samsung Q80t 65 inch, but am glad I did this and saved $500. Viewing angles are no where as good as the Samsung, but I watch this one straight on so that doesn't bother me at all. Only nitpick I have is I can't turn off the 4 LED lights at bottom that reminds you that you have the Google Voice command switch turned off. At least they aren't distracting or super bright.

Bright colors and deep blacks!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this TV after my Samsung had blue spots appear all over the screen that could not be fixed. Picked up this TV and WOW! What a difference from my 2.5yr old Samsung that went bad. Deep blacks and bright colors. Android apps are smooth and quick. HDR movies look fantastic especially 1917. Currently having an issue with turning the TV on and the TV not recognizing Game Mode in the Picture settings. Even though game mode is already selected, I still get terrible input lag and I have to go into the settings each time I turn on the TV during a cold start and switch the picture mode to anything other than game mode and then switch it right back to game mode for it to work. Kind of a hassle to do every time, but the picture is amazing. Called customer support and still waiting on a return call from their 2nd level support. Will edit review to 5 stars if this can be fixed or I get a return call.
