A very good album, but Neil has better.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is Neil's long "lost" recording from the early 70's. It is a very good album, but much of it has been released in alternate versions over the years. Most of the later versions are better than these originals. That is not to say that it isn't worth the investment - especially to a true Neil Young Fan. It is still a very good album, and well worth a listen or two.

Raw Neil Young
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you like acoustic Neil Young this is a good recording for you. It seems that these may have been recorded as demos. The recording is very raw but clear. Neil Young on solo acoustic guitar doing songs which for the most part became known from later more elaborate, sometimes electric renditions .

Great lost album
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The story behind this is a good one, which you can google on your own time, but the short of it is, some great songs fleshed out later in different versions found their conception here. I love Pocohontas and Powderfinger.

Classic Neil
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Several NY albums have been been appearing in recent years consisting of unreleased material. This was an album recorded in one night and it has a raw feel to it. Fans will want to add this one to their archives.

Acoustic solo
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although most of these songs surfaced on later records, these versions are quiet and direct. Not a masterpiece but a satisfying journey into Neil's most creative period.

Classic Neil

In his element
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was cautious about this purchase. Reviews were great but leary of all acoustic solo album. Then I remembered this was recorded in my favorite Neil Young period. The production is sparse so you focus on the songs, mainly the lyrics and the texture of his singing. This guy can write lyrics as well as Dylan. When you rate this album you can't focus on individual songs but consider it in entirety. It's like a personal concert of material written during his most creative period.
