To start, I've been a fan since the first two movies and then started reading the books. What I liked right from the start is you don't need to know anything really from the books or any of the movies to enjoy the game. I can't give a great take on the story since i haven’t finished, but between the main story and a couple of the side stories with other students I'm engaged and want to see it thelrough to the end. Hogwarts and Hogsmeade look great, and were fun to explore. Gameplay is generally solid with a couple minor gripes here and there, switching spell sets on the fly has gotten me a couple of times. The block/parry/dodge system is easy to learn, but targeting could use a bit of polish. I love flying around in the broom, the beast mounts are cool but the broom is still the best. Learning spells has been fun and the classes remind me a bit of how they are in the Persona series, you wont have a scene in one every day, but there are set ones you will see or participate in when you reach set goals. Inventory/item management is easy to do and i really like the outfit management, you can set appearance for each item of clothing based on what items you've collected. In other words, if you like the look of a particular hat but you just got an ugly one with better stats you can put the new one on and set the appearance to the one you like. What didn't i like? House selections could have been a bit more fleshed out, if you did the wizarding world quiz to feed into the game the scene is quick, if you didn't the scene apparently isn't much longer. Next issue, there's a night day cycle but rarely are there consequences for being out at night or somewhere you shouldn't unless the quest dictates you have to stay hidden. You're in a boarding school, why isn't there some kind of restriction. This could have added a bit more excitement to exploring. Some minor audio issues, in particular with owl notices being read, the voice track sometimes dips ehile everything else is the same level. It is a bug, you can reload and the same dialog will be back to normal. Student character models do have variance but alot of the facial features and expressions seemed to have a bit of "samey" feeling to them. Another issue is there was noticeable screen tear and pop in. The pop in usually gets triggered when flying and you'll see some details magically appear or block outlines in the sky suddenly blend in with the rest. The tearing only really occurred going up/down long flight of stairs. Annoying but not game breaking. Overall im enjoying my time with game and would recommend it to fans and non-fans who just want a fun action rpg.

For any Harry Potter fan, this game is amazing! The graphics, the storyline, all the Easter eggs from the books and movies.... The attention to detail in this game is out of this world. I hope they eventually come out with DLC to add to this magical world.

Very well made game. I have not finished it yet but i am about 30 hours in it and it is still enjoyable. I see you have to play and beat it with all the houses to get master achievement. Not sure ill be able to do that.

I'm at 40hrs into the game and not even finished the main story due to so many side quests that I constantly keep doing. There are so many puzzles and you always discover something new, and unexpected. Besides of that, the battle system is so much fun!

It's a very solid game, clearly made with much care. If you don't know much about Harry Potter, you may still enjoy the game as an open world rpg where you go to wizard school, fight the baddies, fly around on brooms. If you love Harry Potter, you will poop your pants with joy.

The gameplay is fun, but the story leaves something to be desired. Some sidequests with classmates are more interesting than the main story itself which boils down to a series of flashbacks. Main antagonists are paper-thin, but you rarely actually see them. That aside, the gameplay itself is fantastic. Combat is fun and flying around on a broom always puts a smile on my face. I did run into some technical issues early on, but watching my girlfriend play through it, those seem to be mostly patched out.

Minor technical glitches that you barely notice if you've been waiting for a game like this since PS1 Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Large open world environment with plenty to explore and do. Would be contender for GOTY if plebs weren't trying to boycott it.

I absolutely love this game and have played it several hours daily. It is a top notch production and is exceptionally engaging. Best Buy had it to me on the 7th which was 3 days prior to launch the deluxe edition affords so I did not have to travel. Great job guys!

Such a beautiful game that was clearly created with a lot of love. If you’re a fan of the HP universe then you’ll enjoy this a lot. The combat is fun, flying is amazing, the scenery is gorgeous, and you’ll waste so much time just exploring.

Outstanding game thus far. A slow burner meaning it’s going to take me some time to complete. Saturday morning with nothing planned to do and wife out of town, I played the entire day and still at the early stages. I haven’t been engaged like this since RDR2.

So far, the game exceeds my expectations. The last Playstation gaming unit I had was a PS3. I bought a PS5 for the sole purpose of this game. It was worth the wait for the game and the purchase of the PS5 console itself. The graphics are incredibly good and with all the settings options you can make it look the way you want from brightness to Frames per second (masked as words like "moderate, intense, etc". I am not a "gamer" so I am learning as I go. It has been a decade since I picked up a controller, having grown up on pinball machines and then graduated into console video games when I worked part time jobs in game rooms. If I can learn how to do this anyone can so do not let your age hold you back. I have already completed several quests with a lot of trial and error. I am still learning, but, that was the point, learn by playing a game I knew I would love.

I'm part of the LGBT and I still bought this game to support the devs and I absolutely LOVE the game. You can tell they really put a lot of work into it and I respect it. Don't really care for JK but you should play it because you want to play it.

Haven't finished the game yet but, really enjoying the story, gameplay, characters, and visuals. Plays really smooth on the PS5, several extras available thru PlayStation and Warner Bros. in addition to the "Deluxe Edition". Very happy with this game.

Definitely a game that leaves you wanting more, love the combat mechanics and that is not turned based. The graphics are amazing. Walking through hogwarts is something that all of us that were kids in the era of the movies had always wanted to do.
