Great to control compatible devices, but the market seems divided between Alexa and Google for some services. Moreover, there is conflict between the google assistant on the phone and the Google home especially when making calls using voice commands

Haven’t used yet as it is a Christmas gift this year, but super excited to begin using the assistant with my Apple home kit to transform my apartment into a smart home.

I brought google home on thanksgiving, from then till today I had a very good time with it. It’s like a person with you all the time.I recommend this to all my friends.

I can control all of my lights. I have 6 hue bulbs and an insignia connect wall plug in my small apartment and it works with them all. I can also control my chromecast.

The device is not as intuitive to set up as other electronics. I usually do not struggle with these things, but I have yet to be able to figure out a few features and there are very few helpful online reviews. I am able to link other programs such as Spotify, Pandora, etc, however after linking the proper tabs such as “music” do not show up where they seem like they are suppose to. Every time I ask it to play a song it tells me I need to choose a default music player, but the “music” tab that I need to go to (as listed in the instructions and online) does not exist within the app on my phone. I am sure it’ll be nice once I have it working properly, but at this time it’s a bit annoying!

Great little device especially for a gift. Way better than the Alexa and Echo dot (I have both of those too) has more capabilities that I will actually use (unless Alexa does too and I just dont know about it). Looks better in charcoal then white.

Amazing! Mostly used for Spotify streaming and pairs with the other Google Chromecast I purchased for some older speakers. Also really helpful for checking the weather.

It does as advertised. I also have an Alexa. Very similar, but with two different brands, means different features. Both good products, you can't go wrong with either.

I'm a techie! With google home it allowed me to sync up mostly all of my wifi devices. I love waking up in the morning and starting my day with a single voice command!

Right off let me say all the AI systems are cool. I have two of these Mini's. I like my two Alexa dots better, but it may be just a subjective preference thing. If you are a really committed Google app user already it may be an awesome platform for you, but I am not a die hard Google person and I got my echo dots first. I think it depends a lot on what you are going to use it for. My best advice is get one of each to try, keep your receipt and return the AI you don't get along with as well, I ended up keeping both AI, but kinda wish I hadn't. One big difference is that unlike the Alexa dot, the Mini lacks any output jack to cable it to external speakers or a stereo. Ugh!!! Any of those connections have to be wireless which cuts out use with any if my older existing audio stuff. I guess they assume you are going to use BT external speakers. Not an issue if you have them already, I guess, but Alexa can use them too so not an advantage over the other. The Google AI just doesn't seem to be quite as smooth or accurate along with something I just can't quite put my finger on. It could be a problem with this end user, and it doesn't help that I seem to always say "Alexa,,,,oh, oops, OK Google" but at basically the same price point I think I should have said "Alexa---return my mini" .

It's great for controlling any smart home items and for casting Netflix and YouTube to your smart TV. Biggest complaint is the phrases can sometimes be very specific or long resulting in having to try multiple times to get what you want to happen

Fun device to have around the house. Great conversation piece. Nice to have with kids, as they ask the most off the wall questions, and the responses can be hilarious

My mom loves google so I got this as a gift. Comparable to my amazon echo but I love amazon shopping but this works great if you have a smart tv and google ecosystem.

I already owned 2 Amazon echo devices when I purchased the Google Mini. Comparing them side by side I have to say that the Google Mini seems to be more knowledgeable.
