This is a product that can have tons of uses. Just by itself you can have it play music, answer questions, tell you the weather, etc. by just using your voice. I also have mine set up through IFTTT and my Harmony Hub to switch activities for my home theater. I have it where it can change the temperature through my Nest. I don't have any light controls but it can do that, too. There are areas it can improve past its generation 1 standings but I am happy thus far.

I read a ton of reviews before deciding on Google Home versus Amazon's Alexa. In the end I decided Alexa was just a sophisticated way to order from Amazon so I purchased my Google Home. Google can be limited based on some of the questions you ask but for the most part it has been able to provide me with answers to everything I ask. I purchased this for my mom and she has been pretty pleased with the results. I encountered none of the errors that some other reviewers have mentioned.

Very nice voice activated speaker, I wanted something like Amazon Alexa or echo but that functions with my Google account, this seems like the only offering from Google it works really well, unless you are blasting music loudly. You can use your phone to "cast" to it. I have it hooked up with my philips hue and and works well. Still doesn't have some basic functions like adding events to a calendar but stuff are being added regularly and the price was very inviting so I bought it.

I tried an Echo and returned it. Good for buying from Amazon, not so much for getting information. Then I tried a Home, and now have 5 scattered throughout a 2500 sq ft home, from garage to bathroom. I can control lights, thermostat, TV etc. from anywhere, I can broadcast music or news in one room, one floor, or the entire house. My wife tells Home to get her up in the morning. I set kitchen timers. And Home gets more capable the longer I have it.

So easy to use. Good for making lists and listening to music while in whatever room you set it up in.

Well made, attractive, decent sound, a bit too much bass, but it's only a tiny speaker so can't complain too much. I have one in each room, linked so that when I play music on one, the whole house comes alive. Con: proprietary power adapter & plug, not USB. Pretty much does what it says on the tin. Loads of commands to remember when connected to other devices (alarm, TV, stereo, etc). A worthwhile addition to your home though and very handy.

I like my google home product. It's a great alternative to a blue tooth speaker as it's just as loud and does much more. I'm able to listen to my daily news as I get ready, listen to music, and much more. Compared to the Amazon Alexa, I preferred this design and it does just as much and is cheaper. One thing I noticed with the Amazon Alexa is when it is making a loud noise (music or loud volume) it will not recognize your voice command, but google home will.

So far I do love the Google Home. The foundation is there for adding on new apps & capabilities as GoogleHome rolls them out. Right now the biggest limitation is that it requires a youtube RED membership (you get 6months free) and that you can only add one google account. I have two (one for work and one personal) which makes managing my tasks & calendar challenging. I think the speakers are great and I am still amazed at how it recognizes your command despite background noise!

This assistant was exciting when we first purchased it. After a couple months of having it the excitement has worn off and It no longer plugs the hole I have in my soul. There are many things this assistant won't do and I wish it would update faster with greater capabilities. Other than that the product is pretty neat. It can hear me from a very far distance. It answers very basic questions and will play games and make sounds. Speakers is good and plays music with great clarity.

This product is simply amazing, I bought it for my livingroom and it hears me all the way across the room in my 1500sq open floor plan. I was well aware there would be some limitations since it's new but I feel it was still smarter than my Amazon Echo was when it first came out 2 yrs ago. Just bought another one for my boys bedroom since it's discounted for Black Friday.

While this is not perfect Google keeps adding more support every day. We ask it a lot of questions and it so nice to get quick answers. Getting your schedule and weather at the start of each day is very handy. Finding business hours and directions is great as well. Playing trivia games has never had a repeated question yet. We sometimes forget to ask questions when we should. We could use it even more. I wish it supported more than one Google account.

My first Google Home came free with the purchase of a refrigerator - who knew? We have thoroughly enjoyed the unexpected quality of the sound and connectivity (portability). Pairs perfectly with my Pandora subscription and as long as the wifi signal is strong enough it moves with me throughout the house as I work on projects. Like it so much that we just bought one form my parents and one form my son (great gifts).

Google Home is a very helpful device that can help you to control your networked home devices like Phillips Hue, Chromcast and many more... it's simple to use and has a very good response.

Good, but voice authentication is lacking

This would easily be a 4 - 5 star unit, but there are a couple things that make it fall short for me. 1, the voice authentication fails quit often, at least when working with Harmony. I almost always have to say it 2-3 times before it works. Keep getting "Your voice was not recognized". It's extremely annoying. When it works for items like Spotify, it's great. Can tell if it's my playlist or my wife's. 2, as with any current AI you always get generic responses such as "I don't understand", or "I can't help with that". This will obviously get better over time.

I have a an Alexa and a Google Home and I think that the Google Home is advancing a little faster than the Alexa it learns so many new things each day that I have to wonder what will it say next.

I got this device on sale for my wife for mother's day. She wanted music in the kitchen and the hands free functionality is wonderful. Relatively easy to set up. Speaker quality if very good. Internet searches are useful for weather, etc. Being it was Google-based, I expected it to be able to master more difficult questions, but in that regard its good but not to the great level. Still it is good for most of our uses. We'll probably get another one for my wife's studio.

I replaced my Amazon Echo with a Google Home and I don't regret it. Although the Amazon Echo has been on the market for a couple of years, Google Home offers 90% of the features I use on a daily basis. The voice recognition is much better (natural conversation) and the traffic information is much more useful. It is not only limited to "Home" and "Work". Amazon Echo's speaker is louder but at a lower volume (50%), the sound produced by Google Home is better.

Got this for my wife but I use it just as much. With the Holiday season here, we love listening to the traditional Christmas songs and haven't had a problem getting what we ask for. We both have had questions answered just by asking so it's a breeze to receive needed information and I might add, a breeze to set up also. Will put it more to use of it's full potential I'm sure after we get through this busy yet wonderful time of the year. PS, my wife loves it!
