OK, so it's not as smart as I thought it might be, I get a lot of "I don't know how to do that yet" responses. Having said that, it's helpful with the weather, current daily traffic conditions as we get ready to leave in the morning and in helping us time our cooking. We also use it to manage our shopping list now, and if I'm on the way to the store and my wife discovers we need something, she can tell Google to add it to the list and when I get to the store, that item is there when I pull up the list and start shopping. Occasionally, we use its game play functions for a bit of entertainment. We also enjoy its streaming music capabilities, and it's a decent speaker, though I wish I could use Bluetooth to have the sound pushed to my nicer speaker system. I am expecting improvements as research gets done creating a smarter interface. I gave it 4 stars only because it isn't quite as useful as I thought it might be for trivial stuff.

It listens and communicates with you, and responds qickly to your request for muisic plus unlimited inforamtion on any topic as if the sky is the limit. Therefore, my sincere thanks to Google for this wonderful gadget and to Best-Buy for making it possible at very reasonable price.

I got the Google Home as a ad-on to my purchasing a GooglePixel phone. I love it. I get up in the morning, say "Hey Google, good morning." It gives me the time, the weather, my calendar for the day, and then NPR news and more. I use it like I would use my phone when I need a definition or birthday or most other things. It has answered some pretty complex questions. I highly recommend it.

i have had my google speaker for a while now, i upgraded to the new sony lfs50g version. (bigger better speaker and bluetooth and some cool gesture controls) does it do EVERYTHING, no, but does a lot. the good thing is it will get better and better as more people use it, they will add more options and make it smarter. FYI, use it with kids, lots of ways kids can interact.

We got this free after purchasing 2 major appliances. I initially rolled my eyes at the idea, but free is free sooo... To my surprise this little gadget is awesome! I am really impressed by the sound quality! We use this far more than I would have ever imagined. I ended up buying several to give as Christmas gifts and got a couple of the minis to place around the house.

I've always been skeptical of all the voice activated assistants, but when my stepson gave us a Google Home and my wife started playing with it, I've come to appreciate it more than I thought I would; enough so that we got two more to put around our house. It could be a little bit better at understanding some of our requests, but overall it's more useful to have around than I expected.

I use google home in my bedroom. My life has changed! I don't think I can live without a google home controlled bedroom anymore. I love to be able to control my TV, my philips hue lights and play music through my google home. Life has become so much simple and luxurious with this purchase. I can't believe it. The sound quality is really good. I tell it to play guitar backing tracks in my desired choice of scale from YT and I can jam along for hours without having to touch my laptop at all. With some added applets from IFTTT, possibilities with this device are insane. I'm still enjoying exploring newer and newer abilities of my google home. To top it all, even though I have an accent, it is able to understand everything I say! Can't go wrong with Google! My friends are always in awe when they visit my place. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Great Alternative to Amazon Echo (Alexa)

This product is easy to set up and use, and is currently about $50 less than the Echo. It is more attactive, sounds just as good, works the same way, and has similar features. Plus, it has the power of Google search, which is far more advanced that anything Amazon has to offer. It also has access to the world's largest music library (Youtube, owned by Google). Although Alexa has a few more capabilites today, both systems are automatically updated whenever a new feature becomes available. Although the Echo currently has more "connected home" capabilities, it has been on the market for two years, and Google Home is just getting started. If you are looking for something designed to get you to spend money on products at Amazin, buy the Amazon Echo. If that feature is not at the top of your list, by the Google Home instead. You will not be disappointed.

I have the echo dot and wanted something with better sound so instead of getting the bigger echo decided to try this and I love it. Things that echo dot can't provide answers for the Google can! Also has Google music and it works in a similar way like Pandora this will put radio stations together for you for free or full albums If you pay for Google play service.

I liked my Google Home, so much I bought a second; one for the master bedroom and one for the living room. Love that I can ask it for the weather, change the temperature of my house AC and heat with Nest, play music, and control my lights with the Philips Hue. It'll even tune in to your favorite radio station, which is how I listed to the play by play hockey games.

I never caught on to the Amazon Alexia fad because I do not shop on Amazon with any frequency. However, I do have google "everything" and this device is integrated into my life now. Google sees my flights on my calendar, controls my Hue lights, my Nest AC, and somehow knows my music tastes better than my phone! I wish I would have purchased this item months ago.

Not a Necessity, But I Love It.

I never purchased an Amazon Echo because I never felt the need for a "smart speaker" in my home. But with the Home being $99 through the holidays I figured why not give it a shot. Set up took 30 seconds via the Home app on my phone, and I immediately had access to all the features of it. It has a bunch of use cases, but I personally use it for Spotify, weather, time to get to work, and news. For all those uses, this thing is AWESOME. I love being able to be anywhere in my apartment and say "OK Google, play my personal playlist" and it just does. And the Omni-directional speaker sounds GOOD. It's loud and full, with decent bass. Voice recognition is excellent as well, even a room or 2 away. If you're in the market for the Amazon Echo, you can save yourself $40-80 by going with the Home, and I think sub-$100 is where devices like this shine.

My adult son bought one on his way to my place. He connected it at my place to "play with it" and I have to say I was very impressed. Great sound quality and immediate and cool feedback on questions. He's had it a couple of weeks now and absolutely loves it - says he uses it every day and is very happy to have received it. I ended up buying one for my daughter.

For anyone integrated in Android and Google, the home is the best voice assistant. No issues with commands and retrieving information. The speaker is better than the Echo Dot and integrates seamlessly with Spotify. If I had to nitpick to find a fault, it would be that it could not string multiple commands in the same sentence. Each command must be given separately.

After having this for about 3 weeks, I actually went and bought another one for upstairs. I have one in the kitchen and one in the bedroom. The 2 main things that I use this for is for turning on/off lights (I have 20 Philips Hue, and a couple of Samsung Smart Things outlets setup), and setting a quick timer. It takes a little bit to get your devices and rooms setup, but it's not arduous by any means. Once your devices are setup, using Google Home is so much easier/quicker than grabbing my iPad, unlocking it, and navigating to the widget or app. I was also quite impressed with the sound quality, considering the size of the device. I have no problem with the quality of music while I'm preparing a meal, or just sitting around. I would strongly advise to check compatibility of your devices, but I am completely satisfied with the device itself!
