I have had the Echo for a while now but while it’s good Google home does a better job understanding and responding. Especially much better for music playback.

Got this in a bundle, already had an echo so didn't really need it. That being said, it works very smoothly with my connected devices. Right on par with my echo device

Great product! I have it in my kitchen for help converting measurements when I'm cooking, listening to music, skipping through songs when my hands are dirty & I can't control my phone, etc. My kids love interacting with it. My only gripe is that I wish it was a little more AI geared; it "doesn't understand" some functions but I know the Google development team is rapidly working on adding more to its already big repertoire

i didnt think i would use a Google home that much but i use it all the time. it is great. i have a nest and Phillips hue lights and it controls them very well.

Love playing music and finding about upcoming appts. If forces me to Interact with someone even if it’s just a software.

It was easy to set up, but still learning what it can do. The sound quality is very good. I really enjoy telling google to play all types of music. One awesome perk is asking it to call someone on my contact list when my phone isn't in the room. I also had an issue and wasn't able to figure something out so I called google home customer service and they solved my issue right away and were very helpful.

We actually have 2 because we love it so much.Check Calendar in the morning to plan your day. Google home wakes us up as we request, gives us the news while we get ready in the morning, Played our Christmas music during holidays, our regular music any day, plays lullaby for kids, answers most of our questions when asked. It is not a necessity but it's for fun and for convenience, We are glad to have them.

This technology is in its infancy. So much is possible and the potential remains untapped. At the moment this is like a smart speaker that responds to your voice with all the power of Google behind it. It listens well and is great for background music, the news and to answer some questions. I cast louder music to my Wi-Fi speaker via a Mediacast when I want to rock out. At its core, this is an input device to a central computer at Goggle that processes vocal commands and reacts appropriately. It does not interact with your phone, laptop, tablet of desktop computer, although it is informed by the Google Home app. It can also control a small number of smart appliances and lights as well as Chromecast and Mediacast devices. I look forward to the day when it interacts seamlessly with my smart TV, computer, tablet, phone and car. I would like for instance to say, "Hey Google, map directions from here to the White House, show it on my TV and send it to my phone." Not possible yet. It does have a short memory, so if I ask, "Hey Google, when was George Washington born?" and follow up with "Hey Google, what year was he first elected president?" Google will more likely than not know I am asking about George Washington. Also, for each command, you have to start with some form of "Hey Google..." Google Home is not able to have a conversation with you for a brief period without you addressing it by name each time. I love it. I think its great. I recommend it highly and without reservation. But you are an early adapter. There is so much more possibility to be explored...

Better than the echo if you use it mostly for internet searches and Google related services. Good sound quality. Can be dressed up with colorful base plates.

We use this in the kitchen while making dinner. If we came across an ingredient we were missing we would just ask the machine to add it to our grocery list.

Absolutely love the Google Home. If you've bought into the Google ecosystem, this is a great product. It's great for a quick morning briefing to get my day started on the right track, helps me manage my busy schedule with little effort, and has replaced an aging stereo system. Voice recognition is great, and search works well for most general questions. Much better than some other voice assistants I've tried. It uses streaming services such as Google Play Music, Spotify, or Pandora to play music. You can use voice controls if you have a Chromecast and a Netflix or HBO account. Also works well with a lot of smart home devices, if you've started to get into that type of thing. Have to say it is nice after a long days work to get all comfy on the couch and not have to get up to dim my lights or to quickly set a reminder on my calendar. I can even make calls if my hands are busy doing something else. The only downside I would say is that you need a smartphone or tablet and a google account to set up the Home. So not ideal if you want to get this for an older member of the family who may still use a standard cell phone or landline. However, if you don't mind using your own device and creating them a Google account this can be easily remedied. This thing has made my life a little easier to manage and sounds great when I do play music. So well worth what I spent on it.

Awesome device. I have all my smart devices synced up to this unit. So easy to use for the whole family. We all love it. Don't think about it, get it now :)

Google did a great job with this speaker. It's difficult to compare to my Alexa because they both serve different purposes. Still an awesome speaker though!

I got 2. One for the office and one for me house! This device is so good that most of the time now, I listen to music from it, rather than using headphones

Love telling google to play music on our TV! Also, it comes in great use for setting timers in the kitchen and telling us the weather forecast for the day!

This is my first experience with the Google assistant, I LIKE!!!! I have this in my kitchen, I use as a timer, to play music and get the news and weather!!

Very happy with purchase. Controlling lights and temperature by voice. Kids especially happy that they can hear any song they want simply by asking for it.

Just beginning to explore the smart home technology. This was a black Friday buy. For the price I could not pass it up. Hopefully it doesn't go the way of Betamax.

This little guy right here is an awesome investment that I find myself using multiple times throughout the day. Whether it is to turn on my Philips Hue lighting, listen to music, hear the weather, set a time, or add an event to my calendar. If you are looking for a jump start on home automation this is a great start

Works as advertised. Really good speech recognition. Many uses and now we have music always playing. Not perfect but seems to be adding features regularly
