I actually expected it to do more on the get go so I will ask it a question and it will say something along the lines of, I'm not sure how to answer that question. Give me some time while I gather the data. When I ask for songs by a particular artist, it will play me similar songs by different artists because I don't have subscription to the playlist. So far, it has been answering most of the kids general questions but I think I need to learn more about it so I can make full use of it.

Neat little manager. If you are always googling everything, then this device is what you are missing. Simply ask and wait for the answer. So easy to use.

Don't let the title of my review dissuade you! I'm a habitual early adopter of technology and the promise of this little gem is awesome. That being said, even as it exists right now this smart home companion is darn nifty. I am a subscriber to Google Play music subscription service and I love that I can just say "play some 70s music" and it fires up a station from Google Play made up of songs I grew up with. Tres cool! Add in stuff like telling it when to wake me up, giving me a morning and evening news briefing, telling me about my day ahead, and other groovy things make this truly handy. Google just gave developers even more access to the various API's that make up Google Assistant and within a matter of a couple of months this thing will kick Alexa's tail. The sound quality is quite nice for a device in this category, much better than I was expecting it to be. It fills my bedroom with pleasant sounding music when asked for and clear, crisp audio for non-music content. The far-field microphones really do work with lots of background noise as well and does not require me to "speak up" like some AI assistants on smartphones do. Setup took less than three minutes from firing up the Google Home app on my iPhone to it "just working". One downside I noticed just last nigh is that when a Google Home commercial comes on TV and that "OK Google" key phrase is on the TV my Google Home replies. Minor quibble. I highly recommended product.

I love that we can have the light turned on when we get home late. And the furnace go up in the morning when we get out of bed and turn it down when we are gone.

Google has definitely delivered with the Google Home. Voice recognition works very, very well and new features are constantly being added. It's fun to use it for weather, sports scores or to get answers to simple questions. Being able to use it to control a smart home (i.e. lights, audio, TV) also works well. It may take some time to understand how it all works but definitely worth the effort.

Right now google home and Phillips hue have teamed up for a huge sale that's not being advertised last week I was doing my daily what s**t can I but at Best Buy today ok line looking and I was actually looking at hard drives but I decided to see if the Phillips hue got cheaper yet and stumbled across the nonadvertized deal I'd think month are offering google home and hue fro 188 total plus tax atleast they were last Friday. I just checked now to see if it was still on sale and it is on sale but they increased the price slightly to 208.00 plus that this is as of (Aug 22 2010). So if your in the market for either I'd say get it they also have amazon echo for 99 now I already have that and trust me that Alexa isn't the smartest AI on the block she can't understand for s**t or half the time does the opposite of what you ask some times I wanna just throw it against the wall but it plays music nice and you can control it through the app so you don't have to deal with that piece of s**t AI Alexa that way. Both are hold overs till the Apple one arrives as ima Apple fanboy to the max and if probably but a plastic Apple shaped speaker if that's what they released cause it had apples name on it and I'd probably wait in a blizzard too for it or the hotttest day on earth just to be first to get the plastic Apple speaker!!!!!! Wooo wooooo woooo BTW id give this 10 stars but I'm limited to just 5

This is our second Google Home and we absolutely love the functionality of the automation feature. I also use this to play music and has great speakers.

I love gadgets and this is one of the best items I purchased. There are so many ways to use Google home. Besides playing music, listening to news, turning on/off lights, I installed a Nest thermostats and I can control it with Google home. Google is constantly sending out emails suggesting what you can do with Google home. Even my grandkids get a kick out of it when they ask it questions.

I purchased this for my mother - who is not tech savvy. It is easy to use, but does need to be set up with a smart phone. It is useful in answering many questions, but falls short with some, IE those smart phone responses that simply provide a list of web sites - they are outside this device's scope. It is great for music - if you purchase the $10 per mo subscription - otherwise that feature is really useless

Good for price. I would definitely recommend this item for anyone looking for something in this price range. It’s good quality for the cost and has great sound.

My daughter got this as a Christmas gift. I was surprised how crisp and clear the music played from it. and she loved being able to tell it what to do.

Product works great but really wish it could play SiriusXM. When trying to play certain songs ask me to upgrade for a paid subscription. Same with YouTube. Setup was really simple and painless as long as you know how to work your WiFi and know your Gmail password. I say I would recommend but need more time to use for better results. At this time I would probably go with Amazon’s Alexa assistant. We got the google one for free with another purchase so we figured we would try it out.

So at first I was skeptical and waffled between Google home & Alexa. Although after some research and reading a lot of reviews I came to the conclusion that I was definitely leaning towards Google home and I am so glad I did. Ease of use, sound quality, expandable and so much more that I don't have room to mention! Great piece of technology! Can't wait to keep updating my "home" around it!

The whole family loves using the Google Home. We use it every day for time, weather, and alarms. We love finding out info that is informative or just plain silly. We also love when we play music on it too. We also love using several Google Homes throughout the house as an intercom when you choose broadcasting to all of the connected devices. Set up was a breeze and so easy.

So much more than just Google search. My 6 year old son can play music, ask questions and even call Mom when he wants. If a six year old can do it, well .......

This is a nice gadget but unless you have a lot of smart devices in your home you won't get much from this except something to play music or read your calendar

My son and his family are enjoying the Google Home. The continually find things that it can do.. They love it. Makes me wish I had kept it for myself.

Useful product for $79! Love the music that it plays and the speakers are great! Can’t wait until more features become available... hopefully more updates soon

Google Home works really well and understands many different people's spoken words. It also appears to be smarter than the Amazon Echo, providing better answers. Google Home is very easy to set up. It didn't take more than a couple of minutes from plugging in the power plug to controlling my smart thermostat. It will respond to "OK Google" and "Hey Google", but I wish there are more options.

This is great for home automation, it is really easy to setup and works out of the box with philips hue, nest and a few other services. It also works great with chromecast and chromecast audio, since it allows you to cast video or music to any of those devices. It also integrates nicely with IFTTT so the things to you can do and hook it up with are endless. You can easily automate a lot of things with this.
