Easy set up, took just a few minutes. We can talk to google from the bedroom, is located in the kitchen, and it is able to clearly understand our commands. Google Home is capable of doing many things, it controls our lights already and we will be getting chrome cast soon, I call it Rosie from the Jetsons, it just can not clean and cook for you, however it will order food if you ask it to.

I absolutely love this product. I'm just starting getting into the home automation life and it was hard for me to decide which to pick between Google or Alexa. When I set her (Google Home) up she was up and ready within no time. After a month have her around I will say it's like having another family member in the house, she can hear me across the house even with the music up so loud, There is no lag unless the wifi is overloaded, and I tuned her up with a lot of IFTTT setting so she always doing something. My family however doesn't like it mostly because they think it was a waste of $$ and one more step into a Smart House. I keep telling them it's nothing like that at all.
My only downside of this device is she not Jarvis (Hold On). She won't understand a certain action I would like her to do when evidently I have to say that specif word for her to understand what I need her to do. Yeah I can do .some tweaking with IFTTT but I can only go so far. Also when my family want to interact with her they like to yell "GOOGLE!" when I have to keep repeating to them say "Hey Google" to know she's being paged.
I myself give this a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

In the race to dominate your home Google has its seat at the table.
Like the Echo the Google Home is a powerful speaker, with conventional Artificial intelligence built in. Making not only this product Smart but many others in your our home as well.
Home let's you Cast YouTube videos and audio to any room with a connected Google Chromecast *any generation*.
Traffic updates, and other useful services aside it is the most potentially powerful, easy to use, and affordable Smart Home device on the market and will only get better with time.

It's a great device. The Google Assistant is fun to have. Multiple profiles available for set up. So my kids get to customize there settings and have fun with it. Impressive speaker. Not to big so it looks nice on my counter. Would definitely recommend.

I heard one of these playing at a family members house one time. I wanted to try out one of the Alexa's but this little speaker had fantastic sound quality. I was impressed since this was coming from such a small speaker. I was sold.. So I went out and bought one. Set up was fairly easy.. Pretty straight forward design and easy to use. I've been using it now for over a month. It seems to adapt and learn as it goes. I like it so far but it has its limitations over functionality and apps it has control over. Alexa seems far more advanced than Google home audio when it comes to this. I understand that Google is adding to that list allowing it to keep up with its competitors but so far, others may have it beat as of now. I don't plan on taking this back because I really like the sound quality this speaker produces but I do wish Google audio could just catch up a little quicker. Thats my only gripe.

I asked Google to text my daughter using my contacts and Google Home wasn’t able to text. Hopefully, on the next update? Easy setup for sure. There’s much more for the device to evolve into. Still cannot answer a lot of questions. But I am super happy with my purchase. I’ve been eyeing this little gadget all year long and finally brought it. Super cool home speaker. I like it a lot!

The little device is cool. I only use it to perform household commands. I don't use it to play any games. I like the fact that it can still processes your command through any Android phone that uses Google Assistant.
I actually exchanged this for the Google Mini because of the purposes I use it for and is still pleased with the product. I will say, of course, the speaker is better on this model than the Google Mini. But, if your gonna use this as a Bluetooth speaker along with all it's functions, it's money well spent.
I have noticed that everything I purchased for "Home Automation", Amazon Echo was always mentioned first, which I don't think is fair. But, that's just like any new smart electronic you purchase these days, iPhone compatibility is always mentioned first. It's all about the investors and who coughs up more money to be put top of the list...

Echo Vs G-Home

I was the proud owner of an Amazon Echo for over a year. When this product was announced I knew that I wanted to compare it the echo. For several reasons I have determined that the Google home is a superior product.
Pros:
-More partners at launch indicating it maybe more robust than echo over time
-access to google's infinite pool of knowledge
-string commands
-easier to look at
-speakers have more clarity
-chromecast support is a magical experience for friends and family who have witnessed the power of the home.
Cons
-has a harder time hearing you across the room if other people in the room are talking.
-The AI works so well that you begin to believe that it can do more so you tell it complicated commands and it falls short
----
Better price, better sound, fast response. Buy the google home over the amazing echo. I have already listed my echo on eBay and plan to purchase I second home once it sells. I have decided to keep my echo dot for now. Hopefully google will release a similar product to replace the dot in the near future.

Great digital addition to our home

I'd been curious about the Amazon Echo since its release last year but I didn't want to be locked into Amazon's ecosystem. When Google released Google Home I read every review I could find comparing the two digital assistants. They seemed similar in many respects, and the lower price of the Home made the decision even easier so I went with it.
Setup was easy. I own a Chromecast so I already had the Google Home app on my phone. Once I plugged in the Home the app saw it right away and led me step-by-step through the setup process.
Once online the Home recognized every command I gave it on the first try. I never had to repeat myself. My young daughter asked it several questions, including one for her math homework, and it responded to her on the first try every time, too. The mic is so sensitive it heard me from the other side of our house.
The only struggle I had with it was with streaming music from Spotify. I tried every phrase I could think of but I could not get Home to play any of my saved genre stations. I finally learned from a Google team member that at this time you can't request a Spotify genre or artist station through Home. It played playlists just fine, though, but that wasn't good enough for me.
I decided to try Google Play Music, thinking it would work much better with Home since it's a Google product. I was right, and now I can tell Home to play any of the stations I've added to my library.
The sound quality of the Home is quite good -- comparable to any good Bluetooth speaker I've heard -- and there is a surprising amount of bass response for such a small speaker. It only has one front-facing speaker, though, so it has a noticeable cone of listening area for best sound quality.
As others have pointed out you can't use the home as a Bluetooth speaker, but you can cast to it just as you would a Chromecast. I plan on streaming everything direct from the Home, though, so that wasn't important to me.
I'm surprised at the lack of functionality with Google services such as Mail and Calendar, but I'm guessing that will improve over time.
So far I'm thrilled with the Home and I'm comfortable it will only get better.

I love “them”

Yes, “them”.
At first I bought one and I bought an Echo also. I kept my Google Home Assistant Speaker and returned the Exho.
I have bought 2 of the original style and two of the minis for my home. Couple with my smart switches, outlets and bulbs and with both chromecast to 1 tv and the other to anextra monitor and then 2 of the audiocast to two diffferent high output audio speakers in larger rooms and without an Assistant in those particular my house is coming alive.
It’s funny, at first my wife kind of put off and frustrated with me doing this. Now she’s fully onboard, so much that other morning after just awakening she hurting the living to fold some cloths she left on the couch the night beforehand. I was still I bed and I heard her say “Turn Living Room” af few moment later I head her say it again. And then I heard her say “Turn everything on” and I could tell by her voice she was frustrated and I could tell by looking the cracked door that no lights were so. So. I said, the ‘mini’ speaker in my bedroom, “Ok Google, Turn Everything On” and voila the living room, dining room, bed room, kitchen, breakfast, many lamps and the Christmas tree all lit up to the preintendes brightness values.
I get up an go toward her and say “Whats Up?” I then say, you gotta say Hey Google or Ok Google first. She said well they came on and I told her I heard and and did it for her from the room. She was irritated that her voice sauce was not tuning on the Lights. I have slowly building my system for about 4 months now. During the period she has become so used to the Speakers and talking to command them that she even thought to just go and Flick a switch or button for any light. She’s used to bossing these rooms around I guess. It was truly very cute and funny.
BUT the best part is the feedback. ALL the MUSIC from google play. We have a very extensive Apple iTunes Music Library I have compiled from about 4000 CD and then the stuff we purchase through Intunes. I was actually waiting for the new Apple speaker to show up and that why I don’t have one of the larger model Googles. Apple has not delivered I’m just stick to my Google. Any back to the music. Our purchased library is huge. GOOGLE PLAY is exponentially larger and it rocks. I can come home and say Hey Google play some cool Jazz from the 50 and she will begin to fill the room with all kinds of music and artist I would never even think of. I can ask her to Play Contemporay Christian and she’ll plank all out favorites and a bunch of new songs my local radio stations have not let me hear yet. Wi H google play mynacccount in Yourube is upgraded to Red status. That means no stupid you tube ads and I think higher quality definition. She’ll play YouTube to the assistant and Cast devices in audio and replay the contest on my monitors (better that that echo display) and she’ll play my Netflix, news cast and a ton of other stuff on to my chrome cast. In the morning she tell me about the weather, my travel time and my agenda and reads to me the top headlines.
We use the one in the kitchen the most. It is usable from Kitchen Living Breakfast ans Dining room areas with how my house it laid out and where I placed it. A great resource she pull up recipes, set times, and does so much.
And now, she able to make phone calls too. The call come from my number so my contact know to answer and still I can use her to call MY phone on those occasions it has misplaced itself. My wife, it know her voice from mine and she can do all the above for her preferences.
What I really really really want and am waiting in creating calendar events that tie into my Gmail ( and Apple and Outlook) Account’s and the ability to send voice to text messages from her. And real large on my wants to read and create emails.
She say something like, “i’m Sorry I can’t help with that yet”. Come on google. Give it to me.
My family came for thanksgiving. They fell in love. On Black Friday I bought a bunch of products to get them for Christmas. They’ll be hooked.
I guess I’ll buy one of the big one too.

Three Google Homes in One House

This is my third Google Home device and I am very happy with this device. I bought my first one in December and liked it so much that I bought another in February. This one I bought in June--if it were not such a good device, I would not get more. I use this with Spotify, Google Calendar, Belkin WeMo, and my Nest thermostat. Everything works great. "Hey, Google, turn on the bedroom lights." Other commands that you may hear me use are: turn on/off closet light, sink light, kitchen lights, computer room lights, play music, play music in whole house, play music in bedroom, when is my first appointment, how is the weather, turn on/off the air conditioner, what's the temperature in the hallway, set temperature to 78 degrees, what time is it in Ottawa, what time is it in Pnom Penh, how far is it from San Diego to Florida, pick a number from 1 to 10, flip a coin, let's play a game, tell me a joke, and more. I love it!
I am an iPhone user and I am well entrenched in the Apple ecosystem, but this Google Home is affordable and so useful, that I have no regrets. Even when the Apple HomePod comes out, I will stick with my Google Home.

Sorry, I'm not sure how to help with that.
The 9 words Google Home is most likely to respond with; but that being said if you're familiar with casting to a Chromecast (video or audio) device extending Google Home to your Television or Audio System (chromecase equipped) is quite nice. BUT if want to change someting you MUST remember to tell Google Home to out to that device (or group of devices) over and over. If there's a way to tell it what the default output should be I've not found a way to do that yet, and that is what is (Currently) frustrating about Google Home, what instruction "Should" it currently understand. The instructions list about 40 phrases to get you started, but it's really not clear you need to say, and when it does not understand you get the above, and sometimes it says it's still learning. I have a number of home automation products (plugs and switched for Belkin's Wemo), some Chamberlin stuff in my garage, none of what interface with Amazon Home at this point, I'm sure they will expand what they can work with over time; so if you don't have Nest, Philips Hue Bulbs or a Samsung Smarthings hub, little home automation can be done.
The interface to Chromecast works quite nicely, for multi-room audio there are real possibilities. The quality of sound from the 6" x 5" device is darn good for it's size, I personally wish you could directly connect powered speakers, but chromecast audio solves the problem, and offers some non-wired flexibility.
I did find that if you say "OK Google, Spin" it will perform some sort of random sound function (singing, or other) no idea how many random functions there are.
I imagine that Google Home will continue to improve unless Google does not keep with it; it certainly has possibilities, but today Amazon's Echo can interface with more automation devices/systems, and it's easier to discover what Echo expects to listen for. You can go to: g.co/home/explore to get more "interface" instructions, from there you might be able to determine if Google Home will be useful to you, and it could be improving, today it's a promising (somewhat expensive toy) that has potential.

I installed this using an android phone and found it to be very easy to set-up. The sound really impressed me. It wasn't as good as a home stereo or SONOS system, but for something so small that you can talk to and get it to respond, it was great. I will admit that it could not answer all the questions that I thought it should be able to ask (i.e., how long will it take for me to drive to the airport?), but I think that may have to do with me doing more set-up and learning how to ask the question right.
Overall, I think it is a great device and loo forward to learning to do more with it.

I love the promise, and execution, of Google Home. Having Google's collective intelligence available with a simple question is a game changer. Especially so when it can be tied in with 3rd party devices throughout the house. I find the execution, and device, is more reliable than Alexa and Google's intelligence truly makes a massive difference in how effectively device controls work.
The associated app allows for truly seamless setup and being able to recognize the different voices in our household is a massive point of differentiation.

but once you get it, it's very cool. Setup was extremely easy so I became cocky and would guess at getting things to work. That was a mistake. You can easily find a list of commands on the net. Look at them. Use this with Harmony Elite remote/hub, smart outlet and smart bulb. Will add others as needed. Do your homework and get products that work with the google assistant. Makes life easier. Everything takes awhile to set up but once it is, life is good. Be patient with the setup and take the time to setup shortcuts, you'll be happy you did.

I got this free when I bought a washer and dryer and was a bit hesitant at first but I have since added 3 home mini's as well as a smart thermostat and lights. You don't think you will use it and then you find yourself asking it random questions, or to start a timer or play music (in the whole house on all the home speakers at the same time). I was worried it would not understand our voices very well but it does not seem to have any issue. It is also very quick to respond to a request. I would definitely recommend this.

Had the echo dot for a while and it was okay but very limited as to what it can do. Then I saw that the Google Home was on sale and i jumped the gun and bought. Buying the Google Home makes me regret ever buying the Echo Dot. The Home does a whole lot more in terms of making calls to phone numbers rather then other echo dots and being able to look up any question I have. Also the fact that it has some great sound coming out of the speaker with a punch base as well. I would recommend this over the Amazon Alexa

Setup of Google Nom is very easy, simple guidance walks you through the setup process. I now have two Google Homes and two Google Minis setup throughout the house and they are all paired. The sound that comes out of the home is clear and it carries well. I love having Google search access readily accessible with the Google home. With YouTube Red this device is incredible due to the vast library of music provided. I can ask for specific songs or ask Google Home to make playlists and it does a great job!
