This works great with smart lights and IFTTT but still lacks integration with other devices (harmony, honeywell, etc.). Compared to Alexa, it understands better especially with google-type questions. The mic seems to be weaker as I've found myself having to yell at it a few times. Looking forward to future updates.

Let me start off by saying "I did not want or need this" and I DO NOT use it to its full potential. I did not want it, but I couldn't turn it down for $10 more than my Philips Hue starter kit. Now, I absolutely love it. I just moved into a new house where the light switch is not easy to get to. I walk into my room and say "Hey Google turn on my nightstand light" and it reacts pretty much instantly. I'm playing music in the morning while getting ready for work, "Hey Google play 'My Favorites' playlist on Spotify." I'm going to bed, "OK Google play 'Going To Sleep' playlist on Spotify," wait for it to start, then "OK Google turn off my lights." Done, house dark, music quietly playing (I usually add in a command to reduce the volume), and I'm out like a light. Is it a way to be lazier than I should be? Yes. Is it convenient in a way that keeps me from stubbing my toe because the light-switch placement is moronic? YES! Worth every penny of the bundled price with the additional Hue bulbs I wanted.

Great for kids, animal noises or fun for them. Love checking the weather and asking for random facts.

Easy to set up and connects to all my Phillips hues, the, etc. Highly recommend. Easier than alexa.

I have both a Google Home and an Amazon Echo, and while I like them both, I find that I use Google Home much more often as my virtual assistant. In addition to my kids using it to hear jokes and play music, I use it to put things on my calendar and build my grocery list. I like that whomever thinks of an item we need can just tell Google to add it to the shopping list and it appears on my phone. We also have used it to control our Philips Hue lights, play trivia games, tell the weather and news, and just general Google searches. I plan to set up my calendar so that I an add appointments as well, and I'm sure we will continue to explore other uses as well. We have the unit situated in our main living area (open floor plan home), not far from the television. I've found that it can "hear" us from across the room (roughly 20 feet) without having to raise our voices, even if the television is on. Only issue I have had is that sometimes it skips, pauses, or stops when playing my Google Music playlists, without any command being given. Overall, this is a great product.

It is so smart, you can ask it anything. I love that it will play songs and answer trivia questions.

We have found it easy to use and fun. We do not use the google home products, so it has some limited use.

I have both the Google Home and the Amazon Alexa and will compare the two for the millionth time in a review. The Google home has Google Assistant which is lightyears better than Alexa at answering general questions as it taps into the broader knowledge of Google. There are many advantages to this when you are asking questions which are not the simple weather reports. The speaker itself, though, is inferior in playback to the Amazon Alexa in playback quality. I prefer listening to music on my Alexa as the sound comes through cleaner and with less muddy undertones. This is a shame as the Google Play Music integration is flawless and I would much rather be using the Google Home. Otherwise a great device and the star lost is only for the speaker quality and not for the usefulness of the product. As an aside, my phone still notices when I say "hey google" but automatically knows that the home devices are answering. Which is great unless you are trying to look something up on the phone for the visual display...

I’m not using the Google Home to it’s full potential but it’s been with the basics so far. No complaints-

This is excellent if you are a google smart home. The web queries and smart interface are amazing!

Works very well. Reasonable speakers, great database, easy to understand female voice. Google Music is a nice plus. Must have a mobile device to set up and program, just no way around having this. Looking forward to more developer participation for broader utilization. Client support via PC chat was effective.

Use in kitchen for on demand music and to answer any question I have when cooking! Fun and handy!

The Google home assistant is absolutely amazing and makes a lot of things easier around the house

I specifically purchased my Google Home so that I could compare it to another device. First off I realize that the two devices are not on equal footing since the Google home is a much newer product. The connectivity with other Google apps is a bit disappointing but I expect that they will be there eventually. The apps that my "Home" device can connect to it does well and voice recognition is easily as good as ever. I think that my Echo Dot has better hearing from a sound detection point of view. The sound quality from the Google home is very good for the price paid. It is certainly not a surround sound entertainment system but I often will ask it to play my Pandora channels for hours at a time to provide back ground music or primary music when I'm cleaning house. I'm looking forward to better connectivity with my other Google apps and my phone and this review may be updated at that time. For now I'm certainly okay with the value I've received and will most likely move the other device into another room or the garage to provide an AI presence there.

Purchased the Google Home for Phillips Hue lighting package. Overall ease for your lighting needs

Great purchase for our home. The product is helpful and has a fun aspect as well for the family.

This thing has great potential. I really like some of it's features but I wish I had more customization. I would like to be able to make a command do more than one task, or issue more than one command in a row. I have only had minor issues so far and most of that has to do with syncing to my Phillips Hue lights which have had some minor issues. Overall its a great product and my 6 year old loves requesting songs to play through voice commands.
