Worth it, works with several home devices.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Received one for Xmas and purchased a 2nd myself. In 2 separate rooms. whichever hears you best will answer. It only supports my NEST thermostat out of the box and adjusts the temperature when told to do so. It does NOT support my "Logitech Harmony Hub" and "Piper NV" security system but the Home does support "IFTTT". Using IFTTT applets I've made with the Harmony and Piper Google Home does work, though with a couple second delay. Using IFTTT I am able to tell "GH" to turn on/off my Cable (& TV) and any other devices controlled by my Harmony Hub. Though it cannot adjust the volume and change channels. Still helpful though. Through IFTTT I also can arm/disarm my PIPER NV security system simply by telling GH to do so. So nice to not have to pull the phone out to arm the system. The PIPER also has plugin outlet modules for connecting lamps or appliances. I have one module in each room with a table lamp plugged into it and I can tell GH to turn the lights on/off also, again thru an IFTTT applet. GH responds correctly when I ask it when my next appointment is. Tells me the weather, news, plays music via you tube. How long it may take to a certain "specific" destination such as a movie theater. Love it!

Google is an Awesome Asssistant
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to setup and connect to my existing 5 WeMo light switches and Nest thermostat (3rd gen) - I now have 5 Google Home devices through my home. My next addition will be a Logitech Harmony Hub to control my home entertainment system. Google’s voice is clear on both the full-size Home and Mini, but playing music suffers on the Mini. Google is Google... full of knowledge, capabilities, and potential. Very capable today, and I’m looking forward to future improvements via free software upgrades.

Kicks Alexa's Butt
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own 3 Amazon Echos, they are very good at playing music and setting timers. I have also connected them to my Phillips Hue so they can turn them on and off. But my gripe about Alexa is that she's not very smart, does not know how to answer the simplest of questions sometimes. So I bought the Google home. Big difference! Majority of questions answered and it can even change the color of my Phillip Hue light which Alexa could not. I highly recommend Google Home. I can't wait for the screen version of it.

Great for the whole family
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received the google home as a free gift with appliances purchase. I didn’t know to much about google home but I was very surprised at how easy it was to set up. My daughter loves it, she loves to ask random questions that she doesn’t have to bring an iPad out for. She loves to play mad libs with google home. I really like that google home can play my music. The only thing that google home can’t do is distinguish between my daughter and my voice. Google thinks we are the same person.

I love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First technicals: The sound is great. Voice recognition is good (can call it across the room). Very easy to install and use. Review: I think that what I love the most about the Google Home is that it is as good as you are creative. you can find so many things you can use it for and with, all you have to do is be creative. And there are many peripherals to the Google Home that makes it even better. You don't NEED it, but its great to have it :)

Pretty impressive and easy to use, even for me!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Heard about these items but never tried one. What a surprise! I can find out the weather every morning by just asking Goggle! Love to be able to ask it to play any kind of music! Ask it just about anything and google has the answer! Still getting used to it . I'm sure it probably should have received 5 stars but because I just got it and still experimenting with it, I gave it 4 stars. Must have item. Oh! and it looks good too and doesn't take up a lot of space.

Better than Echo
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The google home is far superior to the echo devices. More functionality, integrates well with google services (calendar, traffic, shopping lists, etc). I'd like to see more cellular services (text messaging, answer calls) and alarms and timers across all speakers, not just the one you start them on. Sound on these speakers is a bit better than the Google Home Mini, but we're using a combination of both to play music throughout every room in the house.

Great speaker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was easy plug and play. As long you have Google Home on your device of choice. Android or Apple, connection was simple. Microphone can pick up my voice from kitchen to living room. I've noticed that my Google Pixel phone connects to the Google Home devices allowing me to control the speaker when I'm in my bedroom. Connection to my Chrome Cast to the Home is seamless. Multitask with the speaker is easy too, you can tell it to add items to a list while getting your agenda updated as well as play Pandora. Awesome addition to any home.

Google home was easy to set up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The item came as promised. Timely and packaged well. After unboxing, it was really easy to set up. I downloaded the app, turned on Bluetooth and just followed the instructions. In less than 5 min, it was fully set up. Very helpful to be able to ask questions verbally, so this unit will be used well. The sound is great. It met every expectation. Now the next challenge is to integrate a second one to be placed in another bedroom.

More fictions than the echo
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been holding off on this for about a year because I wanted to see the big difference between this and the echo. For Android users this is definitely the better choice as it knows your daily schedule, email, traffic and weather to the places you frequent. Now you can ask it two questions within the same sentence without saying "hey Google" twice.

Easy set up, decent sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this bundled with smart lights. It's so easy to set up and link with other services you may have. Castable TV , smart lights , Google account , additional Google homes... Etc. The mic picks up sound from pretty far away, and you can talk pretty naturally to it. Sound quality is much better than I expected . I have this product and a mini, grouped to sync music and have it play through the house. Love it.

best balance in sound with voice controls
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Impressive sound quality for the size. Google Assistant is a better balance between home controls and access to your general purpose Google profile/history/etc. Still needs a lot of development but the basics are there with promising potential and transparent software upgrades as enhancements roll out. We have 2 Homes, 3 Mini's, and 3 Chromes throughout the house (paired with Android phones and other home automation products).

Great Device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased a Google Home and use it all the time. We play music, get weather reports, set timers, ask stupid questions, ask homework questions and entertain our elderly parents when they come over. They love it so much we bought them one for Christmas. The sound is really good for a such a small speaker, much better than the home mini. I can't think of anyone who would not enjoy this little gem.

Still some kinks to work out but improving
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a big Amazon and Google user so I debated a while on whether to get Alexa or Google Home or to wait. Ultimately I chose Google Home because most of my life is connected through my Google account and Google seems to learn things pretty quickly. Right now it is good for asking simple questions or giving somewhat basic instructions but it's improved a lot over just the past month I've had. It's not as conversational as I'd hoped as you still have to say "ok Google" to ask a related questions. It has a few funny Easter Eggs like try asking it if it's a Democrat or a Republican. I don't have much home automation yet but just ordered a wifi thermostat which is supposedly compatible. It's also pretty good with multi-room audio but I wish it would cast to a video chromecast as part of a group and not just the audio only ones. Overall I recommend since it's getting better pretty quickly. Also the sound quality of the Home device is pretty good just on its own.

Just Fun!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a bit late getting into the game of home assistants, but boy am I glad I did. I am now obsessed with making everything in my home "smart" so I can control it with Google Home. I had no idea how much we would use this..turn on the lights, set an alarm, turn on the Christmas tree, play music on the sound bar...the list goes on and on. One of the best "toys" on the market for the price.

The easiest to set up, extremely usefull
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best little device i've ever purchased, it was easy to set up and we use it on a daily basis. The find my phone is super useful, just say "hey google, where's my phone" and it rings your phone even if it's on silent and even if it's an iphone. It even recognizes who's asking and rings their phones not just the one user. It recognizes up to 5 users now. Love it!

My Daughter wanted it for Christmas
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hey, what can I say. My daughter wanted 2 of the Google Minis for Christmas for her new apartment. Best Buy had such a good deal on a 2-Pack of the Google Home (size); better speakers than the Minis, for $129! I couldn’t pass it up. She’ll be happily surprised that she didn’t get the Minis! Thank you Best Buy for the great price on a 2-Pack, for the Google Homes!

Great Product for the Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I purchased this the Home was going for about $100 while its main competitor the Echo was $169. Since then, a lot has changed and a new Echo is coming out at the end of October. I'm sure Google is working on new hardware as well (they have an event October 4). This compares the existing Echo and Home, as I bought both. I returned the Echo and kept the Home, mainly for 2 reasons. 1) Knowledge. The Home has Google behind it. It can answer literally anything. This morning my daughter wanted to ask Google "What Hogwart's house was Moaning Myrtle in?" Siri punted on the answer. Google Home gave a detailed and accurate answer (Ravenclaw). Google Home can tell you how to say anything in almost every known language. And its voice recognition is better than its competitors though it only has 2 microphones and the Echo has 7. 2) Sound quality. I thought the Echo would be my favorite for music. The Echo emphasizes treble while the Home is all about that bass. The sound quality is highly, highly dependent on placement. I found that with the Home placed in the kitchen under cabinets, a very full sound boomed out that surprises everyone due to its small size. The Echo always sounded tinny no matter where it was placed, though it did better being placed in the middle of a room, like on a table where the sound can fan out in all directions.
