This unit does so many things and mostly very well. Ask it a question, and most times it has a quick answer on a wide variety of topics from the local weather to who was the lead actor in X movie, to what to make with ginger and black bean sauce. I have just connected my smart lights and thermostats so I can verbally turn them on or off or up or down. Good tech in a small package, connect it to your favorite music streaming and ask it to play your favorite types of music....there are so many ways to use this....and so little time!!

Really like the Google Home device. I also have the Amazon similar product, but prefer Google. Finds my music easily, integrates with my Nest products, and looks great. Google is adding more features every day.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband. I wanted it to control Netflix as well as play Spotify through our Chromecast Audio. I am a bit disappointed with finding out it does not control playlists and artists as well as I had read online. It also can choose a movie on Netflix, but can not fast forward or rewind. Hoping the technology will be upgraded soon. It is still great for answering questions we have, such as "What is the temperature today going to be? " "How many ounces in a gallon", "What time does Best Buy close today?" It also can control my Roomba and play music through it's speakers which are a bit impressive for it's size. I do not regret purchasing, just wish it did more of what I originally bought it for.

When i purchased my google home I didn't know what to expect. It was on sale, and hadn't great voice performance reviews so I figured why not take the chance and see how it is. I did want to try the Echo, with my cousin having one, but I didn't want to spend double for something that doesn't the same thing - so I gave the google home a chance. I seriously love it. Hands down a great decision, I liked it so much that I bought 2 more and paired them with wemo light switches and a chromecast audio for my sound system. I know the Echo has more "aps" but from a technical standpoint the google home has way more potential down the road. Please watch YouTube videos to see what I mean. I would HIGHLY recommend a google home

Like all new Google products, there is still some room for it to improve, but I am a Google and Android person so I know that it is only a matter of time that more updates will make Google Home even better. If you already use Google Now on your phone, then this will make your life a whole lot cooler because it will already know enough about you to tell you how long it will take you to get to work (taking traffic in mind too) and be able to give you a rundown on your day and the news you are interested in. I use this with the Philips Hues lights and the integration is really cool. You can even tell it to change the color of your lights to some really odd colors by their name and it will make it so. Really cool if you want an inexpensive start to home automation.

I really love Google Home. I can control the lights all over my house, play music, (un)lock my front door, you name it. I bought 2 and couldn't be happier. Looking forward to more integration coming from Google.

Home was easy to set up, including with the Phillips Hue light set. It's still learning but Home controls our living room lights and schedules tasks. There's not much it can't do or answer from what I've found.

Responds a bit slowly to questions and seems to frequently say she doesn't have an answer to many questions that are answered in traditional Google. Music speaker is fine for You Tube music. Overall pleased with purchase

We almost always have music playing in our house, so I figured this would be a good addition. I was wrong. This isn't an addition, it replaces almost all other forms of music we use and had quickly become everyone's favorite. When my hands are full as I'm setting the table, it's so nice to just say "hey Google, play dinner jazz" instead of trying to search for and use the remote for the Pandora app on the tv. My husband thought this was a waste at first, however I think he uses more then any of us. He checks the weather, news and stocks every morning and plays reggae when he gets home and helps me with dinner. As soon as these go back on sale I will be buying one for my mom and mother in law.

Great piece of tech. Comes in real handy when you need to find the answer to something real quick but don't want to take out your phone. The speakers are actually pretty good for replacing a Bluetooth speaker

Works well 90% of the time; Needs Sonos support

Loses one star for no Sonos support and another star for not supporting sending text and Hangouts messages. This is a complex product (as is the Amazon Echo). I'll say straight away, if you are looking for a "smart" speaker, the Google Home is a good buy. I have two Google Homes and a Home Mini. The first GH I bought in December 2016, has been VERY wonky (often won't respond to my voice) my 2nd unit bought in Feb 2017 and the Mini (just purchased) have been far more reliable. I use mine primarily for adding to shopping lists by voice (works great), controlling my Philips Hue bulbs (also works great) and for Google Play Music (this needs work in my opinion). Still it is a nascent product and Google is updating and improving it all the time. If a 2nd gen version is on the way, you might want to hold out for that or at least buy the Google Home when it goes on sale (deals happen frequently).

At first, I was skeptical, but this Speaker/ Assistant by Google is really cool. I use it to add events, play music, and play Netflix movies on my TV. The more you use it the better it gets. The sound quality is excellent, and the microphone catches my voice well from a distance, for example, I cast music on a separate speaker and listen to music while I am showering, when I want to skip a track I give the assistant (that's in my room) the command to skip the track and it still catches my voice and executes the command perfectly. It's really cool. I just wish it had an audio output so that I can connect the assistant to a louder speaker so that it can sound like my house is talking back to me. lol

    Alexa who?

I own an Amazon Echo and an Amazon Dot. I now own 2 Google Homes and Alexa is bored and lonely. Google smokes Alexa. Seriously. I never have trouble getting Google Home to understand me or what I want. With Alexa I have to shout her name so much it becomes frustrating and honestly, it is usually easier to just grab my phone to handle whatever task I need. I have a Google Home in the bathroom and one in the living room. When playing music, the sound fills the room with deep, full tones. Google Home is quick to respond and handle tasks such as controlling my Wink Hub connected devices. I'll be buying more for the bedrooms soon. Thanks Google. Another amazing product that's actually useful!
