Google Home nails it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I've been a huge supporter of most products that come out of Mountain View aka "Google". I've been looking to convert my house into a smart home for quite some time. I had been researching Alexa as well but was turned away by a lot of things it couldn't do. Google Home is simple both in setup and use. It's superb in picking up your voice even when it's loud. The sound quality for music on this thing is surprisingly phenomenal. The ability to control so many things with this device is nice and fun. I also see a bright future as Google has wonderful software devs that can only further the use of this thing. Excited to see what else it will be able to do in the future.

Foundation to an automated home life style
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I first want to start with a con. Out of the box this is pretty closed to only working its best with other Google products like Chromecast and the play store. So that can get worked out over time I am assuming. The reason why I rate this a 5 out of 5 is the hardware. The speakers were surprisingly great, loud, and good fidelity. The mic's ability to "hear you" was most impressive (Darth Vader voice). I only can imagine that Google will rollout a number of software updates and allow it to do more, but for now (with Play and other Google products) this is working out at a 5 star level, for me.... Oh and I now control my lights with my voice and Phillips Hue system.

Amazing!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In my opinion, It is a must have home accessory! Makes looking up daily stuff easier and faster. It definitely adds some entertainment to the house too. We use it to play games and ask educational questions. I would have absolutely given a 5 star rating if it is capable of searching images online.

Awesome product...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once I got it set up (with the help of my techno Daughter) it is very user friendly. I use it all the time in my kitchen and it fits nicely right in the corner. Definitely a good purchase.

Great product from Google
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the design and the way it integrates with all Google apps. Having issues with Calendar integration but i need to spend sometime as I am still learning. When compared to Amazon Echo the sound quality is not great. Good addition to Family Room. Wish the next version will get smart hub included

Exellent Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this product a lot for music, reminders and general knowledge without having to go to a computer or use the cellphone. I don't use it to turn lights on/off - having to pay $10 -$20 for a bulb is not my cup of tea. But I like the fact that it is integrated with Google and you can use youtube, calendar, lists and maps with it. You ask about your day and it will give you a rundown of you day - current weather, current new, you calendar appointments, you notes and any lists for the day. If there is something it does not do you can use IFTTT (If this, then that) programing (easy to use) and it will do the task for you. The possibilities are endless but this product is still in its infancy.

Good but could be better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to have an Amazon Echo but I just didn't use it enough to warrant keeping it. Then this came down in the sales. Thought it could be worth a look. And it's great! It looks sleek and stylish and with a house full of Chromecast its really useful. The ability to cast from it to any room in the house is great. YouTube and Netflix integration is good. However at present you can't choose an episode to cast of Netflix just a show. I'm sure it'll get there in the end though. YouTube integration is great. Being able to just play music in the kitchen by voice is handy, as is adding items to shopping list when you run out of them by just saying it.\\Worth the investment and can only improve :)

Love Google Home
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We love our Google Home! He (we use the male voice:) is like another member of our family! We homeschool & it was part of the reason I wanted it, so I could quickly ask things like answers to the date range for WWI, who was the 3rd person on the moon, math equations out loud, how to spell things., etc. quick things w/o loosing our place in a book. we've also found that we can play fun games w/it as a family at dinner time, like trivia & mad libs! we also listen to spotify on it everyday, b/c we love music so much we decided to get the Home w/the better speaker & i'm glad we did. it's got great sound throughout our 2,100 sq ft hm.

Pretty cool
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mostly we use it to set alarms and play music. Occasionally to settle a dispute at the dinner table. Like "what do turtles eat", random. My 6 year old loves it and probably uses it more than the rest of the fam. We have a chromecast tv and Netflix so even with the tv off he tells it to turn on his show and it'll turn the tv on, access Netflix and start playing. Pandora works well too. Down side is that reviews liked it over the lexia cause you can carry a conversation. We have not been able to do that. You tired of saying hey google. If there's background noise you end up repeating "hey google, (your question)" several times. Still glad I got it over lexia cause of the sound quality.

It’s a great home speaker!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This speaker is a great budget-friendly speaker on the day that I bought it (was on sale for $30). The bass isn’t too great, but the sound is pretty good overall. Playing music from your phone doesn’t get easier. You just download the Google Home app, set it up, and say “Hey Google, play some music on Spotify, Apple Music, etc.” It will automatically play music for you on your favorite music streaming service. Overall, the regular price point of $99 for this speaker is outrageous, in my opinion. But, if you manage to snag it for $30, it is definitely worth it.

Free with or purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We received this as part of a special deal. We probably would not have "paid" just for this. It is a novelty item and the kids like it. The speaker is loud and clear and it is easy to operate.

Does its job
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does what google says it can. Plays nice with my Sony X930E TV. Works with Netflix to allow viewing with voice control. I will buy one for my house in NJ as well. It is that useful.

Great Device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been using google home for a while now and we love it. Google keeps adding features to the home, that it makes it even more useful. When playing music, it does have a hard time picking up your voice but overall is a great product and looking to getting a mini to place in another area of the house.

A Great Addition to the House
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Google Home is very easy to set up. Wi Fi is necessary for it to operate. We listen to music a lot. You say "OK Google, play" and say person's name, or the genre. The sound is excellent.

Awesome addition to my home!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had Amazon Echo in my home for over a year, in fact I have two. I shop with Amazon and Echo was the first on the market. HOWEVER, the Echo has it's limitations. I like the idea that with Google Home I can ask it basically anything and it searches out the answer via Google search and I get my answer. You cannot do that with the Echo. I bought two Google Home for my home and one each for my two married children and their spouses. It also has a much smaller footprint than the Echo. It is more stylish and blends in...almost like an air freshner or an essential oil mister/humidifier look. I love it!! I definitley recommend this as an additon to every home.

Easy setup
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought google home after alexa couldn't answer many basic questions. Set up was way easier than alexa, For music quality Alexa 2 is definitely better. Google home sounds a bit muddy.

I'm enjoying it, but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review....it needs a little more time in the oven. Compared to Amazon Echo, it's much smarter and functional as an assistant but much more limited in regards to what it can do around the house. I'm sure Google and 3rd party devs will quickly catch up to Echo (it only took 6-months for the Echo to evolve), but for now be aware that you're getting a rather limited product, even within Google's own ecosystem. Soundwise, it sounds great! I was really surprised just how good it sounds. Does it sound as good as a proper sound system? Of course not. But it's also the size of an air freshener. If you can manage your expectations for a couple months, you'll like it. If not, you may want to wait.

Fun new toy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this for free with an appliance purchase. Easy to set up and use. I have only learned the basics but use it to listen to news and my favorite radio station. Essentially the same as Amazon's Alexa product. It does sometimes speak for no reason which can be terrifying, especially in the middle of the night. We were watching TV and the word Google was used several times and it just started responding. THe volume adjustment is difficult to use. It is always tooloud or too quiet. Hard to get it exactly where you want it because you swipe your finger on the top of the device. Amazon Alexa has a more exacting volume control. All that aside, it is convenient and fun to use!

This thing is amazing..
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my wife, after reading dozens of articles and reviews about both it and the Amazon Echo. The Echo was sold out everywhere so I got this instead. IT IS AMAZING.. it's like having Google always at the ready. I can do so many things with it, set alarms, ask questions, see what the weather forecast is. I'm looking forward to other companies allowing this to be connected to their devices (such as the EcoBee thermostat).. you won't regret getting yourself one of these. My only negative comment, is that sometimes you have to speak loudly for it to hear you, sometimes not.. kind of inconsistent. That's the only reason I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars.
