This Google Home works great. We use it as a radio for music anywhere in the house. Looks great and is easy to operate.

Prior to purchasing this, I didn't think I'd find much use or scenarios where this would be handy. I had purchased several echo dot devices for home automation. I found Home to much more useful than the echo dot. If you love music, Google Home as a much larger library as it pulls everything from YT. I frequently found echo dot to have a limited library or just gives samples of a music. There are times where home knows what I want to listen to despite saying the wrong song name or artist. Home is also good for quick facts, such has translation or getting measurement conversions.

Google Home has been great so far. I purchased with the Phillips Hue Starter Pack bundle for a really good deal too! After plugging it up for the first time day 1, I went back and bought another bundle day 2! The functionality continues to grow thru new software updates. Very responsive on my home network when it comes to turning on/off/changing colors on the Hue lights. Setting alarms for the day, or timers and reminders while cooking have been great. Responds very smoothly with Chromecast and Google Music/YouTube from what I've used.

    Best virtual assistant

While the Google Home is relatively new, it offers the most features of any virtual assistant to date. Sounds as good as the Amazon Echo, but offers integration to your Google Calendar, Keep (shopping list), Music (Google Play, Pandora, etc), and Smartthings (Home automation). Being able to cast a video to my Nvidia Shield is great, or telling Google Home to change my Game Room light blue is pretty cool. It's a budding system so in time much more cool features will be available. Personally I'm hoping for multiple accounts and Smartthings verbal alerting.

Google Home is Good for Home

It is a good unit but it could be better. Home’s voice commands work well. It’s so much more convenient to simply ask Nest to crank up the heating to a specific temperature or turn the lights on or off without having to whip out your phone, open up an app, and tap a button. Limited selection of supported apps and connected devices from the onset. Home will only get better with future update and third party support. If you regularly use voice assistant services, Google Home is a good option, but if you’re not, it’ll be nothing more than just another audio speaker to you.

Love my Google assistant. Tells me what traffic will be on the way to work, plays I-Heart radio, gives me morning news, changes the temp on my Nest thermostat, turns on and off my LIFX light, changes the brightness and colors of my LIFX light, turns on a floor fan connected to a WeMo plug, same thing for a surge protector and all of this by just saying "Hey Google". I believe I've only just touched the surface of what this assistant can do. Next up is a Logitech Harmony Hub so I can have Google turn on/off the TV, cable box and sound bar.

A good alternative to the Echo, but needs work.

I have had an Amazon Echo since they were first pre-released to Prime members and have liked it very much. The Google Home is a solid alternative. It's got some rough edges right now, but it is improving weekly. I like the Echo better for managing my smart home items. The Google home is great for integrating with Google cast systems. The Echo is a much more mature platform, but Google Home excels in answering more complex and contextual questions. All in all, it probably just comes down to which ecosystem you already are more invested in. They are both constantly improving.

Bought it because I felt like the 3 mini speakers I have just did not perform well with music. So got it hoping for better sound quality and I definitely got it but if you Max out the volume the sound quality goes down and does not sound as good as in lower volume. Didn't go as loud or base was not as strong and defined as it should be. The price I paid for it was definitely worth every penny. Happy with it, just wish sound quality was a tad better at higher volume.

Still discovering, but initial reaction is it's fun and so informative! An unexpected blessing is that we are now able to control Netflix streaming so much easier. We used to have to use our laptop through the Chrome browser and Chromecast, which was OK but if we ever wanted to pause, it was a real hassle finding the controls, and the browser would go back to the Home page for Netflix. Ugh! But with Google Home, now we can say "OK Google, pause Netflix" - and it pauses and then resumes when we say "OK Google, play Netflix."

Google Home is so useful in controlling our thermostats as well as enjoying the music and accessing information on anything from news weather to getting answers for questions. This purchase of 2 Google Homes has brought our total to 5 for our house. Thank you Best Buy in assistance in understanding new technology products. Best Buy is efficient and helpful whether we are making our purchase online or in the store. Great value too!

it's just like you see it in the commercials. You ask it questions and you get answers. You can also play games, listen to music and cast videos to your TV. One drawback is for some of the content you have to link paid services.

I picked this up on a pretty decent sale, not sure I'd pay full price for it. I have a handful of minis that I bought for cheap or got for free from Spotify or something. This replaced one of those in the living room that is the main speaker we use when listening to music. I highly recommend the Google/Next smart speakers and if you're listening to music , this is a huge step up from the quality of the minis. Otherwise, function is the same.
