Is the best to get the most important thing for you

This air cleaner really does the job. Very happy with it.

Although it works, is very loud when it runs its like running a loud fan.

I bought two air purifiers today, this one in particular was for my son's bedroom. Now, I have to say that I agree with a previous review about the plastic smell emanating from the unit, but if you had stepped into my son's room the plastic smell is a welcomed change :-) I am hopeful that, eventually, the plastic smell will go away. The features are exactly what we needed in an air purifier, my wife and I are not big on timers and gauges, and etc... we wanted a basic air purifier that would do that thing that they do best, clean the air. I also like the reusable filters, when it is required, wash them, dry them and reinstall them, this is a big savings for an air purifier that will be on for long periods of time. The lower motor setting is very quiet, what noise it does put out is like having white noise, that is if you can actually the motor running. Anyway, buy this you won't be upset over the purchase. That plastic smell will go away after the filter has been washed a couple of times.

I ran this air purifier for a full week and it did not perform as expected for the price of this unit. The filter did not catch anything and looked like it was just put in after a week of running constantly.

This is my 6th Honeywell air purifier I've bought over the years. I've always been happy with Honeywell purifiers and this one has not disappointed. I got this purifier this past Sunday at best Buy on sale, which makes it quite a bargain. It cleans the air very good and is very quiet even on the highest speed. I've had other Honeywell models over years that were much louder. It comes with 2 pre-filters...one washable, the other you have to replace. The replaceable pre-filter has special odor cleaning properties and I used it to make sure I got the smells and cigarette smoke out of the air. It has to be replaced about every 3 months. I put the washable filter up for safe keeping till I need it. I didn't notice the plastic smell many have reported, but maybe it's just my nose, I dunno. I had a slightly smaller 170 sq. ft. Honeywell purifier in my livingroom that I moved to my bedroom, and replaced it in my livingroom with this one. This one cleans a slightly larger area of 225 sq. ft. which is better in my livingroom. I use this larger purifier and the other purifier in my bedroom on the 2nd speed and they do a good job all through the apt. They both are energy star rated and use little electricity which is another plus. Both have permanate washable filters that only have to be rinsed every other month or so. I have not ever had any of the noise, rattling problems, or failed rotating motor others have reported.....but I never use the oscillation feature in any of my purifiers. I see no need for that. If I need to circulate the air in my room I use the ceiling fan. And the apt. air conditioner fan, and the furnace fan, also does that. All in all I love this product and think it a good bargain at Best buy on sale. I certainly am a believer in Honeywell purifiers and think they make a great product. I have 3 Honeywell purifiers right...a small one put up.... and none of their products have failed me. I give this purifier a hearty thumbs up.

I've had the air purifier on for the last 4 days and put it on sleep mode in the evenings. We bought this originally to clean the air from cooking because our kitchen opens right up into our dining and livingroom area on the main level. I have definitely noticed a big difference since buying this. The house smells fresh and I don't use sprays or candles in the house. When you first turn it on, there is a plastic like smell from the machine but it does go away after the first day of use. There are 3 settings: sleep mode, 2 regular, and 3 high use. On setting #2, you do hear it running because air is blowing out the front of the fan but it is relatively quiet. You probably don't want this in a really small room because the air that's blowing out of the fan is pretty much like turning a fan on.

I bought this air purifier because I was in a pretty screwed up situation. I recently purchased a condo and my very considerate(sarcasm) neighbors below me smoke relentlessly. My fiancee and I do not smoke and we both hated the fact our condo started to get filled with the smell of smoke. You know that scent you smell when you go into a hotel room where the smell is just permitted into everything? Anyways, the bottom line is we were against the wall. We couldn't open our windows nor slider door. It was disheartening to be in this position. We decided to purchase an air purifier. We figured it wouldn't completely get rid of the problem but at least it would be something. We read a couple of reviews on different purifiers. The Honeywell brand kept popping up with good reviews. We drove to Best Buy and saw that the genius 3 was available. I ended up buying it. We used it immediately........ Let me tell you something, this thing works like magic!!!! I mean is this thing good or what!!! We first used it overnight in our bedroom and it completely got rid if the smoke scent. The air scent was clean and it got rid of it completely. We were so excited it has actually worked. We initially believed that it would only help a little, but boy were we wrong. We next tried it in the living room over night and it worked the same. I think I've painted a clear enough picture here, the Honewell genius 3 air purifier works. I completely recommend this 10000000%. You won't be disappointed.

I mainly use this for my room, I have bad allergies and decided to break down and buy this product. First off, I price matched this item with amazon for 143$, beats the 200$ price tag! that was a great deal. When I got it home I put it in my living room for a couple hours to check it out and clean the room. You will notice that strong plastic smell for sure, but it isn't that bad... after two days on max setting the plastic smell completely went away. I kept it on the whole time and never turned it off. The unit also comes with an odor filter which works great. I now have the product in my room and the room has never smelt as fresh as it does... I honestly feel like it is now one of the freshest smelling rooms I have ever been in EVER. Very happy with the unit so far, hopefully it lasts for a couple years, I honestly feel like I couldn't live without an air purifier now. I now wake up without a clogged nose, and can actually breath when I wake up! It makes the room colder, it pushes cold air out better than my normal fan, hopefully it can push that cold air out in the summer time. I put tape over the led lights, they are bothersome to me at night. The unit is pretty big but isn't a deal breaker at all.

I noticed the difference in our air quality once I turned this machine on. It feels the air is so much cleaner and healthier. I would definitely recommend this product for the budgeted minded individual like myself.

Many complained about the factory smell on first use. After running the machine an hour I shut it off and removed the plastic grille, sponge filter and white filter and washed with lukewarm sudsy water. Let dry and ran again. That eliminated the odor pretty quickly. Secondly I bought this machine because my favorite brand product made too much static noises when too much dust collected. The former brand (begins with an "O") collected heavy degrees of dust and needed to be cleaned every week, due to the build up. But the Air Genius barely collects anything, so I don't consider it very effective. Therefore, I am disappointed in the Air Genius's ability to collect dust.

I've noticed air is cleaner. removes odors. sets up easily.

I love this item. It took the pet oder from my room within 15 mins, and it is a decent fan. Make this thing out of solid metal or aluminum, and I'll give it 5 stars.

The first few months it was a dream and felt like something I could never live without. By the time it was due for it's first filter cleaning (which was a great option) the machine had pretty much started to fail. I cleaned and replaced the odor filters hoping that would solve the problem. It didnt. It started rattling louder and louder to now the thing is just a giant noise machine and I dont know if it's working or not. The white gets stained with this yellow tint no matter what and there is no way to get it off. And the topping on the sunday was when the (high) indicator led faded away until it was completly gone. Best Buy was supposed to price match it for me and they didn't so it was a little more than I wanted to pay but I wanted my elite points and that was upsetting to find out and now I'm stuck with this two hundred dollar purchase that is turned out to be far from what was claimed.

Purchased this unit about 6 months ago and it works great reducing pet odors, etc. Which is why I purchased this model. However, within a couple of months it began rattling very loudly. This has only gotten worse over time. I've changed the filter more than the recommended every 3 months and it does not help. I called the warranty center as recommended by others with the same issue and YES they are going to send me a replacement unit but only AFTER I pay to ship them back the defective unit with a 4-5 week potential turn around. I found this to be less than stellar customer service as not only do I have to pay for their defective product to be shipped back, I have to wait weeks for a new one. Any time in the past I've had to deal with defective products from other companies they issue a return label and it's shipped back at the company's expense and a replacement is sent immediately. If they do not receive the product back in a certain amount of time you are billed for the replacement. Why should I have to pay out of pocket for a defect in their product. I will NEVER buy another Honeywell product.

Worked good prior to breaking. For the price I expected better.....
