The pre-filter is a downgrade from the original and requires that it be cut from a single large sheet. It is wasteful and isn't enough to cover the number of recommended changes to coincide with the HEPA filter replacement. Recommend only because I don't know of a better alternative.

Cut To Size: Really?

The HEPA filters are very easy to replace, but the “pre-filters” have to be cut to size. For the cost of these replacement filters, cutting them to size is really annoying.

And it cheaper.
