Good looking diagnostic tool with WiFi app access
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Much nicer than my old monochrome Honeywell thermostat that just all of a sudden stopped talking to the WiFi, this one works as it should and gives more diagnostic information about the heat pump too.

Works well with one flaw to pay attention to
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed this thermostat and I like very much the way it works. I've been using it several weeks now. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the flimsy construction of the plastic receiptacles into which you plug that house wires. They are very fragile. One suggestion: don't follow the manufacturer's suggestions. Instead, pull the wires from the wall through the unit then screw the unit onto the wall and only then try to insert the wires into the receptacles. Because the plastic tabs are so fragile, if you are moving the unit in your hands as you push the wires in, you are liable to break a tab. By 'tab' I mean the little level inside the hole the wires go in, that presses on the wire and insures electrical contact. Basically, stabilize the unit so it doesn't move then insert the wires from the wall. After that everything should work OK.

Satisfied
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This worked with our 2 stage heat pump hvac unit. HVAC company installed (easy), set up was easy other than figuring out the different apps that needed to be downloaded and connected at first.

You Get What You Pay For.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This model of the many Honeywell Thermostats is not as described online. First of all, although its screen can be set to several ugly shades of color, it's only whatever shade you pick and black. It's just plain ugly and not full color as is the 9585 series. It also does not show automatic changeover from heating to cooling. It is not a direct replacement for the 9585 series of Honeywell t'stats which are full color and do auto changeover. It is however, quite a bit cheaper. You get what you pay for.

Posted .Hi TomInPA, thank you for your review of the Smart Color Thermostat with Wi-Fi Connectivity. This is the RTH9585WF model. You can enable the Auto Changeover option. Go to 'Settings', then 'Preferences' and 'Advanced Preferences'. Press 'Next' until you see "Heating and Cooling System Changeover". Select 'Automatic' and then 'Done' to save and exit. - Maria

Great price and product.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very happy with this thermostat by Honeywell. Prompt delivery. Very easy to mount and setup. The hardest part was getting wires removed from the existing thermostat. Loved the fact that I can check on things with the WIFI program. I highly recommend the product.

Easy set up
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this thermostat installed by contractor while replacing my furnace. The contractor did the wiring and mounting. It was easy to connect to home WiFi. After registering unit with Honeywell via laptop was able to easily modify 7 day schedule and alerts. There was a rebate available which helped deffer the cost.

Love this unit!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does everything I wanted for my short term remote rental house. Total control from 1200 miles away with a computer or my phone. Awesome features and Honeywell quality. Not buggy at all like all the newcomers that use WIFI but have no actual thermostat experience history of manufacturing. I did have to have it installed by my HVAC guy.

Honeywell Thermostat
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had a Nest previously and didn't like some of its "smart" features that didn't quite work as they were supposed to work so tried this more simple smart thermostat. Easy to use and setup and the app makes changing the temperature or schedule quick if I am not right by the thermostat.

Exactly what we were hoping for!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very easy to install and the functionality is exactly what I expected…easy and very convenient!! My wife loves the ability to control it from anywhere, and the ability to have the air and heat set so you don’t have to keep changing from one to the other…

Great alternative to more expensive options
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's only been installed for a few days, but so far so good. This does require a common wire. I had an unused one I was able to hook up to the thermostat and at the HVAC system control board, no problems. I like that the fan can be set to come on randomly for about 35% of the time. We have radiant heat, and I don't like to run the fans constantly, so it will help keep some air flow this winter. There are two things I don't like. One thing is the diagonal lines through the screen. This is part of the design and not a glitch. You can see it in the picture on the box, and the hi-res digital picture, if you look for it. But, it's not like I stand around staring at it all day. The second thing I don't like is that the area for the wires is very cramped. It takes good dexterity and patience to get all the wires in the terminals. They are snap-in, which is nice, vs. screws. I also wish it had reporting of temperature history--there is no reporting of any kind that I can find. It does have good schedule settings that you can do on the thermostat, in a web browser, or on an app.
