Also finding the correct app (Total Connect rather than Resideo) and setting up through our utility company to get the rebate required phone calls/emails to both utility company and Honeywell which was extremely time consuming. Moved to a new house and bought a different brand!

I would have had to install the extra wire from my furnace. Just make sure that your old thermostat has the necessary wiring to be able to connect this gadget before you buy. I had to return it much to my dismay.
