    Could not wire to older home

    This thermostat needs 5 wres to work it needs to be hard wired. Our current wire only had four. Would have to tear out the wall to run new wiring. Returned unit, might purchase in the future if we do any remodeling and can run the proper wire.

    This thermostat does its job most of the time, but if you want to set home and away schedules, good luck. The geofencing feature does not work at all, and most times we'll be home several hours before it would detect we were home and kick into 'home mode'. Sometimes the scheduling feature just doesn't work at all. If the thermostat has any interruption with its internet connection it tends to just shut off, leaving you to wake up freezing or in a pool of sweat. If you're going to spend this kind of money, click your way over to a Nest and buy that.

    I ended up returning it and went with the nest. Honeywell's customer service couldn't help me and the display wasn't working. Customer service said to exchange it so I just spent $50 more and got the nest

    Apple HomeKit stopped working after 2 years.

    Bought for HomeKit but it was sporadic. At any time HomeKit would go offline the Echo and Google option still worked. Ecobee 3 replaced this one.

    So i read reviews before i purchased it and it seemed like it was what i was looking for just to be in my room and say "Alexa turn off the heater" and the heater would turn off. It says right on the box that it needs a "c-wire" which isn't hard to do if you only have a "g-wire". I wired a "c-wire" in again which isn't hard and the unit wouldn't turn on. I called the customer service line which was about 30 minutes on hold so not to bad (also customer service is available 24/7 you can't beat that). They guided me through troubleshooting which i did everything they recommend and still nothing. I did feel like they were trying to get me off the phone with their last suggestion though. They said (kind of fast) ok sir you need to go to the store and pick up a voltage meter then call us back. I informed them i have 3 and the gentleman seemed (maybe it was just me) but he seemed mad after that. I checked all the wires he recommended and the unit was still not getting power. He said "sir just return it to the store to which you purchase from if you can't instal it" (again he seemed on the mad side with his tone BUT maybe it was just me) so i did return it. I picked up a nest which is about $100 more around $250. My power company (PSE) gave me a $100 rebate for getting one plus some other discounts so in the end i bout it for cheaper anyways. I have yet to intall it but right on the box it says works with any wiring type so i believe it was a good switch off

    Have not been able to use this thermostat, no fault of the product but because my house is too old and did not come with the “third wire”

    This is a provisional rating. It took a while for me to get a technician to come install the device for me. The first night I downloaded the app and everything seemed to be ok. The next day, it wasn't turning the thermostat on so I called the tech back. He attempted to adjust it and the device screen just remained black. Seems the device is defective. I did purchase the geek protection, so I am going to call to see about a replacement. Will update. Can't recommend at this time.

    This thermostat is average compare to Ecobee. I ended up buying ecobee but unable to return this honeywell thermostat because past 15 days

    The app for the Lyric does not work well. I also had trouble configuring the thermostat when first installing. It took a while.

    I bought this wanting to automate our house a little bit. My husband had issues installing so we called an electrician. He was unable to get it up and running after updating our wiring so we had to return it. I really liked the look of it and was excited to use it.

    I've researched wifi thermostats and decided to purchase this Honeywell Lyric T5. I installed the item and followed the instructions to wire it with the C wire and it did not work. The furnace blower would turn on but the heat would not turn on. I disconnected the C wire and wired it using a wire power extended kit and still had the same problem. I contacted Honeywell Lyric customer and service and I was told to contact a technician to look at my system. The Honeywell customer support rep didn't seem interested in my problem and answered my questions with uh-huh and m-hmm. I returned this product and purchased an Ecobee 3 and installed it in 20 minutes. Would not recommend the Honeywell.

    could not get it to work. requires 5 wires but my ac has only 4 wires. i finally got a hvac guy to run an extra wire to run common wire and for some reason the thermostat wont start up my air conditioner. still doesnt work, will be returning it.

    Was challenging to hook up with the c-wire issue but now app doesnt work. Sadly this smart tech isbt worth it. Maybe will switch to Nest. Thw customer support couldnt help at all.

    I had this thermostat for approx 24 hours before i removed it and took it back. The device is dependent upon the mobile app to register and and geofencing. Guess what? If you cant get the app to work you have to call honeywell. After a couple of hours of tech support i came to the conclusion that if im having problem now i will definitely have problems later. Back to the store it went.
