If you use Smartthings...dont buy this unit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So i gave this unit a poor rating for a couple of different reasons. Reason 1. In order for the geofencing to work properly you have to have the companion app to work. The app is also needed to program the unit IF you dont program it directly from the thermostat itself. That all on its own isnt a problem. The problem comes when you cannot get the app to connect to the Honeywell cloud to register the thermostat properly. I called Honeywell suppport and worked on trying to get the unit to connect for about 2 hours before both the tech and myself gave up. Which brings me to point number 2. 2. The unit is supposed to work with Alexa and was advertised to work with Samsung Smartthings. Again, with no app connectivity the Alexa integration doesnt work. Im actuallly had the unit installed yesterday. Im taking the unit back and purchasing and Ecobee in its place.

Thermostat has Geofenced me out

Tech support is boosting my up to a higher level, but it is all done on chat (so far). Chat is fine for some things but difficult for tech support. Even if they find a way to "reset" it, it will probably happen again. Another thing: It has one temperature setting per Home, Away, Sleep program. AFAIK So I'm going to return it and try another brand. Note: It needs a "C" wire. Most houses built after 1990 have the wire. If "C" is not hooked up, you have one that uses batteries for transistor switching, but there is probably a wire coming out of the bundle that is not hooked up and there is probably a connection on the heater's transformer. It's a no brainer. It's labeled "C".

HONEYWELL IS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DO NOT PURCHASE THIS THERMOSTAT if you plan to install it over a standard single gang electrical box. It requires an adapter which is not included and cannot be purchased. Honeywell customer assistance could not identify the part number despite sending them a picture of it from the Honeywell manual. Honeywell customer assistance suggested several incorrect parts to buy (from an electrical wholesaler) and although assuring that they included the adapter the parts arrived and clearly stated on the Honeywell packaging that the adapter was not included. If you want to waste a lot of time, energy and money ... good luck!

WiFi Connection Fails Repeatedly

But trying to connect to a smart home fails repeatedly - smart devices can't communicate with thermostat; iPhone often misses connection. Very bad for remote uses.

Worst Thermostat in the history of thermostats
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.3 1/2 hours to get it to connect to a modern fast wifi. didn't do anything special the last 6 times I tried, it just sort of connected. of course, at that point it would not turn on the air. Checked forums and wouldn't you know it, it's a common problem. Exchanged out for an Ecobee, thing was installed, wifi worked perfect and air was working within 15 minutes. so, go ahead honeywell, suggest it wasn't your product. Very happy with the Ecobee !! and the next question, would I recommend to a friend ?..heck no, I wouldn't recommend it to my ex-wife

Don't waste your time or money.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It took over an hour with Honeywell tech support just to get the thermostat to register with their own Android App, luckily I had an old Android tablet running Lolipop, since you can not activate it with a PC and none of my three Android phones running Nougat could activate the thermostat via the app in the Google Play store. Now I cannot get it to connect to Echo Dots via the Alexa Skill. This thermostat has been on the market for 2 years and Honeywell still has not fixed all its bugs. Don't waste your time or money.

Won't connect to app

After that, it would constantly disconnect and need to be rebooted. Within the 1st month, it stopped connecting at all, even after rebooting. What is the point of having a wifi thermostat if it won't stay connected?!

Doesn't Work

Sure I can control the thermostat but not from my phone which is the only reason I purchased it. I bought two one won't register at all and the other won't reconnect to my network. These are garbage. Avoid at all costs.

Do not buy Honeywell Lyric T5

Had to pay extra service call also because thermostat wouldn't control air,heat. Honeywell advised wiring in manual was wrong. Very disgusted. Don't buy.

Terrible
