The remote is useless because you have to get up and turn the light off on the fan itself. The light on the five speed model goes off automatically. It should also go off automatically on the 8 speed.

I’m glad I read the reviews first as I knew what to expect. The sound is louder at the higher settings, plus worse case, you can set the timer and it will turn off not disturbing you the entire night. Haha. I’m planning on getting another one for my daughter dorm room
