In a couple weeks since the old one died the basement was getting quite damp and smelly. Within a day the humidity was way down with this new machine.

There is a 5% threshold when the desired humidity setting has been reached. The compressor will shut off once the relative humidity is 5% lower than your desired setting. The fan will continue to run for up to 3 minutes to cool the motor and will then shut off. Operation restores once the relative humidity is 5% higher than your desired setting. So far so good! Easy to use and the wifi feature is convenient. Hopefully it will last 15yrs.

It does its job efficiently. If you do not have water bin connected through hose, then you will be emptying it multiple times during the day.
