It started pulling moisture out of the air immediately and has really dried our basement out. The only thing that I don't like is that it runs constantly and does not shut off when the desired humidity level is reached.

Feels solid, quieter than another unit (GE) that we purchased last year. Didn't use any of the "smart" features...don't know why I would want that.

By chance when I picked up the new Zelda game I pre-ordered ( flooded basement or not, I had to get the new Zelda game), I ran into the manager and I jokingly asked if he had a dehumidifier because the state of Colorado didn’t. He did! This behemoth was a life saver. Pulled over 3 gallons of water out of my basement, saved my floor and walls! Pricey, bilirubin worth its weight in gold!

There is a 5% threshold when the desired humidity setting has been reached. The compressor will shut off once the relative humidity is 5% lower than your desired setting. The fan will continue to run for up to 3 minutes to cool the motor and will then shut off. Operation restores once the relative humidity is 5% higher than your desired setting. This dehumidifier works very quickly to take the water up. I empty it three times a day which surprised me. It has been wonderful!
