Fan never shuts off

The manual, and other manufacturer replies here state the fan turns off about 3 minutes after reaching set point. It does not. Fan runs continuously.

Posted .We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you because of this dehumidifier. Our units make use of dual motor technology, making them quieter than most others in the market. Like any other electrical device, it will create some sounds when operating due to the powerful machine working to remove the moisture from the air. This is normal sound. There is a 5% threshold when the desired humidity setting has been reached. The compressor will shut off once the relative humidity is 5% lower than your desired setting. The fan will continue to run for up to 3 minutes to cool the motor and will then shut off. Operation restores once the relative humidity is 5% higher than your desired setting. Great dehumidifier

Makes my basement dry (40 % and lower) in a few hours after being wet 86%. Also the options to switch the unit on and off everywhere you are is a nice option. Besides that you can schedule the timer when to go on and / or off multiple times a day when you want. The main reason I bought this one is the the compressor warranty by Honeywell for 5 years.

Quality Dehumidifier minor issues

The negatives are the power consumption level don’t know how they can an energy star rating. Also the bucket that catches the water can be a challenge to empty without some spillage.

I'm not sure that it measures the inside humidity very well, the unit says the humidity is at 43, but my hydrometer on the wall reads at 68. I have had to empty the bucket, so it does remove moisture from the room.

Hopefully it works longer then the last 2 dehumidifiers ( different manufacturers ). They only lasted about 2 years each. I bought an extended warranty just in case. I wish they would make them like they used to.

Overpriced for a cheap short-lived product

It sat undisturbed in the basement and is very clean. It's just poorly made (but it made it past its 1 year warranty) and other budget low-reliability imports are about 30% cheaper.
