    Honeywell Dehumidifier Works Well But Very Warm

    It does the job of removing humidity very well, and the resulting dryer air is a big improvement. However, it vents a lot of very warm air into the space. I understand that this is necessary for its operation if there's a lot of humidity in the space, but it's not pleasant in summer. My AC must work overtime to compensate. I've only had this for a couple of months, so I expect the situation will reverse and it will be quite pleasant in the cooler fall and winter months.

When the dehumidifier is switched on, a fan pulls moisture-laden air into the dehumidifier where it passes through dehumidifying coils inside the unit. These coils condense moisture from the air and collect it in the water tank. The dry air is then exhausted from the dehumidifier as dry, warm air.     Solid dehumidifier

    We have had this dehumidifier for about a month and it has been working well to decrease humidity levels in our basement. I like that it has the option to connect to an app that notifies you when it is full, although I have not set it up yet. It is nice to have the option!

    Mine failed after 3-4 seasons of use. I’ve never had a dehumidifier last more than a few years. Consider yourself lucky if one lasts more than 4 seasons. One other caveat with this Honeywell is that the once it turned on the fan never turned off.

    So far it works fine. We find that if you empty the reservoir just after the unit stops running (because full or intentionally stopped), it's best to wait a few minutes before emptying to avoid residual dripping

    The unit does what its supposed to do, pulls out moisture. The humidity reading is a little off but doesn't really effect performance in general. I use an external pump so it runs continuously. Its power use is very good and won't cost so much. The wireless connection is ok , but nothing special. But a huge problem is that it never shuts off. I adjust the humidity level but it keeps running way past that number and hasn't shut down at all in the month I've owned it. This is a glaringly obvious problem that makes no sense.

    LOUD BANG SOUND FROM COMPRESSOR

    Does dehumidify, however the compressor makes a loud "bang" sound when kicking on or off. The sound is loud enough to wake a person at night if the unit is in the same room. Warranty support from the manufacturer is difficult to obtain (took over a month for a response, at that point they asked for four documents including a proof of purchase despite the fact that my device is already registered on their app). JMATEK is the actual company that "provides" "support," and they are clearly not interested in supporting this product. Good luck to anyone who buys this.

    I was sold a defective machine

    Unit was an open box item and there was a reason it was..The machine was defective. I loaded the machine onto the truck twice and wasted 2 trips back to the local Best Buy which,I guess was my own fault. Honeywell told me the machine was too big for the room which made no sense. Bottom line, Best Buy sold me a defective unit BUT I did get back my money. The machine either has a bad humidistat or a faulty control board..It ran constantly. What a nightmare.

    Poor Quality Stopped Working < 1yr

    I purchased this dehimidifier in August 2021 at BestBuy. We used it until November 2021. It sat unused through the winter. We just started using it again this May 2022. After one full bucket of water I put the bucket back in and for two days straight it ran - finally looked in the bucket. NO Water. It turns on but does nothing. It is a piece of junk. I don't know about you but I am sick and tired of the decline in quality materials that are going into appliances.

    Purchased this dehumidifier for my basement/rec room. The first one I took back because it would not take the humidity down below 40 RH, and the fan would not turn off. Called HW who said it was defective, exchanged it for another. Having the same issue. I can get the RH down to 45 but no lower, fan continues to run continuously. This is supposed to be an energy saver unit. Now I read in the reviews that a persoon setting up the programn had the same issue, programed the units wifi setting and said it runs fine. I will attempt that as soon as I find the instructions on how to do this, as the instructions are not in the supplied manual.

      We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. There is a 5% threshold when the desired humidity setting has been reached. The compressor will shut off once the relative humidity is 5% lower than your desired setting. The fan will continue to run for up to 6 minutes to cool the motor and will then shut off. Operation restores once the relative humidity is 5% higher than your desired setting.
      You may need to check the set level of humidity on the unit, in order to ascertain why the fan runs continuously.

    LASTED 3 MONTHS! BEWARE!

    Purchased this unit August 8, 2021 and it worked great at first. We re now just shy of 4 months using it and it is a big disappointment. Though it still semi does the job (not as good as it did) it make and AWFUL noise. It grinds and hums extremely loud. Mind you this unit is kept in my basement and we can hear it running from two floors above. Honestly for what you pay for this unit I am a bit aggravated and would never again purchase something Honeywell! Please do yourselves the favor and buy a different brand for the sake of not wasting a good chunk of money!

    Beware Frigidaire wont honor warranty

    As the title says...I started my one year old unit on a Friday night in the spring after properly storing it for the winter. On Saturday morning there was an error code and no water collected. The call center is closed over the weekend. I called on Monday morning and they refused to replace the 1 year old unit, saying the unit was out of warranty (by 1 day) - yes, I started the unit within 2 days of the warranty expiring. They said even though they were closed, there are no exceptions. I find this very shady and unethical.

    Horrible Experience

    I had high hopes for this unit as I thought Honeywell was a reputable company. My experience however did not show that. Water will not collect in the bottom of the unit but wants to come out the back, which we don't want. Best Buy wouldn't take it back and the company representing Honeywell told me to only solution is to somehow tilt the unit while in use, which is not a valid solution to us. A complete waste of money. Please don't buy
