We just got a rescue dog, and he occasionally can't hold his water... So we got this to clean the carpet. It cleaned the spot, but I could still smell the spoil, even after dried.

I’ve never used this so I’m not sure about my question with it. But it had particles floating in it. It looked dirty.

I have a cat and 3 kids that combined to put stains in my carpet. I thought the carpet in one of my rooms was a goner. I've used a few different carpet cleaners in the past and they only seemed to dull some of the stains. I am super impressed by the work that was done by my new Hoover SmartWash Pet Complete Automatic Carpet Cleaner and its use of this Paws and Claws Cleaning solution. Most of the stains have vanished! There are a few that have barely clung to the carpet, but I'm ever hopeful they may come out in future cleaning cycles. One of the stains is on the stair landing from our previous cat. I tried one of those rental carpet cleaners last year and it didn't look like it pulled much up. I tried a generic cleaning solution with the Hoover SmartWash Carpet Cleaner, I was surprised when I could see colored liquid getting sucked up by the carpet cleaner. It still left a good part of the stain behind. So I came back with the Paws and Claws solution and went over the area a few more passes and to my surprise, the enzymes in the Paws and Claws solution continued to pull up almost orange colored liquid for the next several passes. I haven't tested it specifically, but I'm hoping that the stain guard additive will keep my carpets looking clean! I also like that the scent of the solution is fairly neutral. It doesn't reek of strong cleaning chemicals, but rather a slight fresh perfume that dissipates quickly. I really appreciate this Paws and Claws solution that came with my Hoover SmartWash Carpet Cleaner. It accomplished more than I was expecting. I was so impressed with it, I have another bottle ordered and on the way!

While the cleaning solution worked well on my pet stains the first time I used it the odor seems to still be lingering. I did make several passes over them. I have used other brands of cleaning formula before and never had this issue so I am thinking maybe this one is not strong enough. The cleaning solution has a light scent that is not too strong. It doesn't seem to leave any heavy residue on the carpet. After a few days the stains have not reappeared. For basic light cleaning this would probably work better.

I had to have this replaced multiple times the fan and motor has gone out several times just months apart from getting a replacement. Hoover customer service is great and will send replacement but its a hassle. If you buy this make sure to buy added insurance you will need it

I use this detergent in concert with a Hoover carpet cleaner, and so far have found it to be very effective at removing both fresh and old stains from pet related messes from my rugs and carpets. The enzymatic compounds in it are quite effective when it comes to breaking down urine, vomit, and feces, and when used properly there isn't even enough left to show up under a black light. This is actually a fairly vital detail too, as it means it's breaking down the chemicals that your dog and cat use to identify spots they can safely go again in the future. The scent is okay, but definitely noticeable. I'd say it's better than most products made to clean up after your pets, but it could still be a bit of a problem if you've got scent-sensitive individuals in the house. Fortunately I've found that if you take the time to rinse the carpet after shampooing it the smell only lingers for about an hour or so, and it leaves behind little to no soap residue within the carpet.
