This is the second time I've purchased this product and neither has ever lasted a year. Get the protection plan.

The hardest part about using the vacuum so far was taking off all the plastic bags around the unit. The unit is ready to use right out of the box with nothing to install like many other vacuums I have bought in the past. The unit is light weight and very easy to navigate around sofas, tables, chairs and under beds. The power of the suction is GREAT and picks up all of my cats hair. The vacuum does not state it is good for pet hair but in my opinion it does a great job if not better than vacuums that say they are made for pet hair. The vacuum comes with one attachment which is great for cleaning baseboards, air vents, dryer vent and hard to reach spots in between my sofa cushions. The cord length is a good size and I am able to clean multiple rooms in a two bedroom apartment without having to switch power outlets. The canister is very easy to clean out with just one push of a button. I honestly hate to clean but this vacuum is so easy to use, move and clean I just might clean more often.

Vacuum broke within the first 3 weeks, filters clogged constantly which made the motors overheat, would not recommend.

Its taken some time to warm up to this vacuum. I think it may be a case of the product not meeting my already high expectations. I expected the suction to be a little more , the functionality seems a little too complex. Its an okay vacuum cleaner

only works on carpet. suction too strong for hard floors, or indoor/outdoor carpet.

I do a lot of research for appliance/tv purchases. So I read reviews online (taking all with a grain of salt), watched youtube videos, and picked up consumer reports, which was the most helpful. I was debating between a Dyson DC33 on sale for $250 and the Hoover Air-S on sale for $170. I narrowed it down to two brands because, 1) I have bad experiences with other brands and 2) dyson and hoover seem to perform well across models according to consumer reports. So I purchased the Hoover Air S on sale, plus had a coupon for 20% off so total price was $137. I live in an apartment with rugs, carpet, hardwood, a cat, and my wife. We haven't vacuumed in quite some time so after the easy assembly, I put the Hoover to work. It did a dam good job, picking up cat hair, carpet strands from our oriental rug, and everything else in one or two passes. Some might complain about having to go back over a spot, but it's a 12 lb vacuum, your not going to be picking up bowling balls with the hose! I will say the roller brush seems under powered in that it the sound significantly changed when pulling back on the vacuum. Pros -Picks up everything on both carpet, rugs, and hard floors (just remember to turn off the roller brush) -Light weight and steerable, which is nice going around and underneath furniture. Neutral -Suction. However, this model has the most air watts, beating out other brand's light weight models (with the exception of Dyson). Cons -I don't think the value it great. I probably would've purchased something less expensive if I didn't have a coupon. -Emptying the canister is easy, except hair/fuzz seems to get caught on the cylinder in the middle. I've found it comes of with a little shaking of the canister, however, the whole canister came apart once when I was shaking. I guess it's good to know I can take it apart for thorough cleaning. In the end, I would purchase again considering I would only buy a Hoover or Dyson. Once I have a big home, I will probably buy a bigger vacuum (e.g. Dyson).
