    Hoover Stick Vac - GREAT

Very easy, works nearly as well as full size vac. Charges moderaltely quickly. Because it is so light, we can do the whole family area in just a few minutes, and do so more often...house feels cleaner,...we save the full size vac for 2 times per month, and use this nearly every day. MUCH more powerful than the Electrolux version, which we had before.

    Good little vacuum

I've had this vacuum for several months so far and I have not had a problem with the battery life or suction on it. I can get all the downstairs with it (over 1250sqft) without having the battery run out and I even keep the brushes turned on. I do recharge it after every use though, I just leave it on the charger when done. I also have a zoo at my house, 2 dogs and 4 cats, so we like to vacuum everyday with it and it picks up all the hairs extremely well. My only complaint would be that when you empty it, it kind of just dumps the dust/dirt/fur out and seems to get on the container or stuck in it (probably because of all the fur >.>). But that's just a very small issue and doesn't happen all the time. All in all I would buy this vacuum again if this one I have now ever goes out on me, it really gets the job done and I love the cordless option!

I do not recommend. This works ok on carpet but on the low speed it is nearly worthless.

Hi, Gwhit! Sounds like you're having a few suction issues. There are times that dirt and debris may clog the neck of the nozzle to your Linx (the "nozzle" is the base of the cleaner where the brushes are located). Remove the nozzle by pressing a gray button located behind the neck. Pull body of cleaner apart from the nozzle. Check for any obstructions and remove. Also, for optimal cleaning performance/ suction, ensure the filter located in the dirt cup lid is clean. The filter is a rinse-able foam filter that must be air dried for 24 hours after rinsing. Hope this helps! -Giselle, Hoover Customer Care Hoover

    Excellent performance, "but..."

This is a great performer given the cordless convenience. The 2 switch modes of "roller brush on" and "roller brush off" is nice for transitioning from hardwood to carpet. Not really enough power for deep cleaning or deep plush #like fake fur type fine fiber#. But, for short nap and berber, it's great. Quick cleanups and zip zip yer done. I have 2 batteries and cycle/switch them. They say don't leave them on the charger indefinitely, so, I have an outlet timer and set it to 4 hours. Works well. Only caveat is that there is a design flaw that allows a stress point on the wire that transfers power from the "stick" to the lower unit that has the roller brush. There is a motor in that lower unit that that drives that roller brush. That lower unit "head" turns somewhat as you "steer" the Linx while using it. A wire #one of the 2 and I've had either break at different times# will work harden and break leaving you without the use of the roller brush. That's a big deal performance wise. We've owned ours about 4 years. I've fixed it 3 times now. It's not an easy task, but, doable for the average handy... person. But, really pay attention as there are many screws and wire guides that must be followed, so, pay attention as you disassemble. You may need some 18ga stranded wire for the fix. It's a couple of hours and a bit tedious, but, worth the trouble. When it's running right, the wife absolutely loves this thing.

    Best value cordless vaccum

For a battery powered vacuum for light carpet cleaning I am more than satisfied with this. No cord, decent suction, and it can hold a bunch of stuff without cleaning it out all the time. I had an electro.... stick vac that was battery powered and about the same cost. But it filled up really fast with dust and debris, requiring frequent clean outs. Just need to remember to charge the battery on a regular basis, when the battery runs out it just shuts down. I don't notice it running it down...no loss of power...only the battery indicator light starts to flash.....then it just shuts down.

Best Cordless Stick Vacuum - Worth Every Penny!!!

This is the best cordless stick vacuum I have ever owned. I have tried the Shark Sweeper, Bissell Turbo and a Dirt Devil, due to the price. Well you get what you pay for. If you want a cordless stick that will pick up on laminate, stone tile, carpet, etc., this is the one. Don't waste the time purchasing cheap ones, only to take them back since they won't work or break. Thank you HOOVER!!!

We got a great deal on this vacuum from Best Buy. My wife loves the fact she can bring out this very easy to use and light weight vacuum for our hardwood floors that really collect our dog hairs. This vacuum can vacuum all of our hardwood floors on our first floor with it's 13 to 15 minute charge. No more dog hairs! The rugs are harder, and it does an OK but not great job on them. We would buy it again and are really glad we have it. Every needs one. The charger is really easy to use also.

Best small vacuum, just a little lacking on design

I bought this after buying an Electrolux and this is a far better vacuum when it comes to vacuuming, but the Electrolux is so much sleeker and easier to maneuver. This vacuum works great on harwood and all rug types. The electrolux would just move dirt around and was very harsh on our more delicate rugs, I would always use our big vacuum for rugs, now this is a my go to. Plus it has more than enough batter time to do a 1600 square foot house with ease. I really love this thing i just wish it was a little nicer looking and slightly easier to maneuver, the swivel turn function is not very useful. Bottom line, don't do the Electrolux, this is a far superior vacuum.

Very happy with this vacuum. We got rid of our Pronto's because it was basically useless. One thing I really love about this unit is it picks up stuff really well on tiled floors. Vacuums we've had in the past used to just throw the debris all around the floor. This vacuum just picks everything up. Highly recommended.

I received this as a gift and kind of raised one eye brow when I saw it. I have a Dyson that I love but actually the switch just broke the week before. I thought I'd give this a shot and was extremely impressed. It may be little but it's mighty. It's also very light weight and having no cords to deal with is icing on the cake. I'm so happy I was given this.

Setting the record straight on battery life

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I had been eyeing the vacuum for quite some time but continued to hold off because of the price. Needless to say I took the plunge. Overall I'm satisfied and recommend the product. HOWEVER, there are conflicting posts with regard to battery life. Some people claim the battery lasts for hours. Others state their disappointment because they only get 10-15 minutes of useage on a charge. I ended up being the latter so I decided to contact the manufacturer. Below is Hoover's response. Thank you for your recent email. You can expect the Hoover Platinum Collection Stick Vac with LiNX Battery, Model #BH50010, to have "Fade Free" power during an operation/run time of approximately 11-12 minutes. The run time will vary slightly depending on whether or not the agitator brush roll is engaged or turned off. The LiNX Battery is an 18-Volt Lithium Ion Battery which will recharge in approximately 2-3 hours and can be recharged approximately 100,000 times over the life of the battery. You can tell when the battery is fully charged when the blue light on the charger pulses. The LiNX Battery and charger have a two year warranty for manufacturing defects and your Hoover Platinum Collection Stick Vac has a six year warranty for manufacturing defects.. The LiNX Battery also operates the Hoover Platinum Collection Hand Vac. I cannot speak to how anyone is getting (significantly) longer battery life than what the manufacturer states. I do hope though that Hoover’s response above does set the record straight for future purchasers.

Excellent Sweeper for a Dog Family

My husband heard about this sweeper from our cleaning lady. As we have 5 greyhounds she was begging for an easy option of getting up the hairs and dirt. We finally picked it up and was pleasantly surprised. The battery lasts for about three hours and I can quickly get under furniture with ease and get the tile and hardwood so much cleaner than with the dust mop I was using along with dragging out the big vacuum with the long cord. So easy I can do this everyday....

Bought this Hoover Stick Vac along with the Platinum hand vac. Both are amazing and have exceeded all my expectaions. Stick vac is WELL designed and very easy to use. Finally found a stick vac that has enough battery life to finish any vaccuming job and do a great job at it. Excellent power! 6 year warranty tells me Hoover is standing behind how good this vac is. I have no doubt having bought and used it. There is no question that this is the best stick vac out there.
