    Love this one!

I love this for those quick grab and sweep chores. The battery lasts through several uses and I'm impressed with how well it does on carpet too. We have lots of tile and LOTS of dog hair and I love to have a quick go-to tool. I still use my big vacuum regularly, but I love the convenience of this one. I had an Electrolux stick vac/dust buster combo and it was great at first, but lost its power within a year or so. This one is great!!

Good Little Vacuum but some Ergonomic Issues

I got this specifically for dog hair and it does a good job though the canister does fill up quickly. Good battery life. My issue is the design. It TOPPLES VERY EASILY and when it does the canister always FALLS OUT! Not matter how secure I think I have it. Would not buy again.

I rated this vacumm as if I had paid the $200 (or so) list price. I actually recieved it free with my $1000+ refrigerator purchase. Being free, I have no complaints, but having paid the asking price, I would have been a bit disssapointed, mainly ONLY due to the poor transition from hardwood to carpet. Everything else works great. It vacumms well on hardwood. It vacuums well on carpet. It just does not transition well. Good battery life, quick charge. No cords is GREAT! I give it an "OK" rating based on the asking price.

    GREATEST VACUUM EVER

This must be the greatest vacuum ever made. I hate to clean and prefer to have a cat on duty to eat the cockroaches because of my not wanting to clean. I don't like fighting with the cord. Since I bought this I'm vacuuming more often. The battery holds up for a long period of time given the frequent use. Although I am planning on buying a second battery. The suction power is excelllent for being cordless.

The stick works great! We did purchase two of these items, and one had to be sent back for a replacement, which took time, but it finally arrived.

Great for cleaning up scattered litter and other debris from hardwood floors. Very lightweight. Holds a charge for a long time -- can vacuum 2,500 SF with a single charge. Excellent for pet owners with hard floors, good on carpet also. I use this every day.

    good for a quick vacuum

I bought this vacuum because I needed something to quickly clean up our floors on a regular basis. With 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 kids there is always a need for it. The suction is great - working well until the battery is completely drained. The battery does only last 15-20 minutes as other reviewers have mentioned. I just make sure that I am ready and can move quickly through my rooms. The one thing I really don't like is how loud it is (I definitely think it is much louder than my Dyson). My kids (all under 6) tend to run away when they see me pull it out. It also tips over easily because it is so light. It would be better if the handle was in 2 pieces that clicked together vs. 1 long piece that seems glue in the middle. My handle has broken and I will have to contact manufacturer to get it replaced unfortunately.

    LOVE IT!

Hoover Platinum CSV is absolutely shines in two areas: ease of use (switching from brushroll on to brushroll off, going between surface heights & types), and cleaning ability, especially the tricky maneuver of getting pet hair off area rugs. The battery life is quite good, as is the “fade-free” aspect of the product - it works at full power for the whole time. It does a much better job so much quicker than my old vac and I can get everything I want done in a single charge. For this review, I even kept it going past the time I needed to use up the full charge. It took a full 15 minutes of use to run out, with the brushroll on for more than half the time, during which I can did 600 sq ft of hardwood, and 400 sq ft of rugs or carpets (just the portion of the carpets and rugs that I like to use the stick vac on between regular vacuuming with my upright). If you had mostly bare floors, you would get a much longer battery life, because you would be using only one of the two motors. Bagless feature: The Hoover Platinum CSV is exceptionally easy to empty and clean. The dust cup empties from the bottom, the baffle tube is easy to remove from the dust cup if necessary (which it will be, if you have multiple long-haired daughters), and the filter can be bushed off with a dry toothbrush and washed when necessary. Carpet Cleaning: The Hoover Platinum Cordless Stick Vac is amazingly good at getting surface pet hair, dirt, and sock lint off rugs. It won’t deep clean, but it will help to make the carpet surface LOOK clean, which is all I want for a quick clean up. Ease of use: When I am using the Hoover Platinum Cordless Stick Vac, I can go from one surface to another seamlessly, except for certain very lightweight mats. With ordinary area rugs, however, the Hoover Platinum CSV goes up and over the edge with amazing ease. Edge cleaning: This vacuum has excellent edge cleaning. I don’t ever have to stoop down to get that random bit of whatever from near the baseboard. This is a MAJOR plus when compared to my old stick vac. Clearance: The Hoover Platinum CSV will go under about the first 9 inches of furniture with only about 2 ½ inches of clearance. You can’t go further than that, because the bagless dust cup gets in the way. My old vac could lay flat and go as far as I wanted provided the clearance was over 5 inches, but only under about the first 2 ½ inches under anything lower. You have to know what will work best for you. Was there anything I liked BETTER about my old stick vac? Yes, I liked the way it hung on the wall to charge. The Hoover has a charging base which charges the battery, and the vac, while it stands on its own (a plus), does require floor space. 3/17/09

I got this for my new wood floors and I am happy to say that I really like this stick vacuum. Easy to use and picks up everything that is on the floor, even picks up styrofoam from boxes. Works on carpet too.

Handy Vac but came with used battery (2 times)

I was excited about this handy vac. Love the cordless feature which makes it so easy for a quick touch up that otherwise I wouldn't do because other vacs with cords are inconvenient. HOWEVER, I ordered this on line and when I received it all parts were new, but the battery was opened and appeared to be used (little scratch marks#. I called Customer Svc and they sent another vac - SAME ISSUE!. Then I was told to go to a store instead #then why have the convenience of internet shopping?# The store close to me did not carry it, so they wanted me to go across town to another store that had one in stock. I haven't had time to do that yet. Meanwhile, I've had 3 trips to UPS, 5 calls to Customer Svc, and many other small details not worthy to mention here. This has been a total nightmare for something that should have been an easy purchase. Now I have a new vac with a used battery #who knows how long it'll last). I got this based on a neighbors recommendation... Now I understand why she bought an extra spare battery. I've been very displeased by how Best Buy has handled this. All I want is what I paid for - a new vac with all new parts!

    WORTH IT.

Unlike the 9 volt Electrolux Pronto, this thing actually does what it was designed to do--cleaning kitchen or hardwood floors quickly and easily. Also, picks up the cookie crumbs on carpets just as your guests are ringing the doorbell. (You still need a wired vacuum for properly cleaning your carpets and rugs, but this is great for surface debris.) A pleasure to use--causes me to vacuum quickly and often throughout the week. Be real about the battery, people. It's life is short because it produces strong suction at 18 volts. After the first charge of 3 hours, it takes now about 90 minutes to recharge. I get 4-5 uses in the kitchen before recharging. That's more than a week and not an annoyance at all. Have had this five/six weeks and consider the money well-spent. Best Buy had the best price on the web during a sale.

    Lot better than a Shark

My husband talk me into buying it. I thought it was too pricey, but I am glad I did. It works well and the battery life is not too bad. You can get a little life back after a little while to finish up. My only problem has been the nozzle clogs up easily if you pick up too much carpet fuzz, which in turn has stuff cling to it. The nozzle does come off, but you still have to probe around to get everything out. Therefore if the vacuum does not seem to work as well, your nozzle is clogged. Also the dust cup falls out sometimes. The latch could be a little better. The quality, otherwise, is quite good, unlike the Sharks, which fall apart and break easily and if you pay for replacement parts, start to cost you as much as the Linx. I think my mother should get one, her vacuum is too heavy for her. I pretty much use mine all the time. a lot easier than to get out my regular vacuum.

This vac is great for different types of floors--you can turn off the roller for hardwood floors. It's light-weight and easy to carry upstairs. Got this as a free gift for ordering a new washing machine.

Hmmm about the battery - seems like a lot of work

Just got my new linx cordless. Love it and was amazed at the amount of pet hair and debris it picked up. Within the first charge, I had to empty the cup twice. Now the not so good part - I found out you really shouldn't leave the battery in the charger beyond 3 hours. Now I'm panicking over that. It's the last thing on my mind to have to wonder about the battery and whether I took it out of the charger. If you don't, it runs the battery down faster. I really hate having to watch a clock or even remember something as mundane as a battery. Hmmmm...... really negative on this part. My other stick vac had a battery, but I left it in the charger all the time. I thought the lithium battery would be better. Recommending to a friend? I was mixed on this. Nix for babysitting a battery - I got better things to do - but a yaay for the cleanup of floors and rugs.

Don't hesitate to buy this Vac!

I am more than impressed! Like some of the other posters, I have bought several bare floor vacs and was never really satisfied. I decided to try this one, knowing that if I didn't like it, I could take it back for a full refund. The first charge took 3 hours, so after it was charged I vacuumed my house. It did a great job on my kitchen linoleum floor, the hard wood floors, and with a flick of the switch, it also cleaned my carpeted bedroom! I am simply amazed, and I love the fact that it is cordless! I also want to note that it did a really good job getting close to the wall too. As far as the battery life goes, I vacuumed my living room, three bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom and still have plenty of charge left. With a 6 year warranty on the vacuum, and 2 years on the rechargable battery, I don't see where you can go wrong. I give this product 5 stars!

I purchased this vacuum after reading many reviews to find a product with a decent price that does the job. My first time using the vacuum I vacuumed my kitchen and hall tile floors, living room hardwood floor, two large area rugs, a small area rug, a runner and my bathroom linoleum floor. I was thrill at the job this vacuum did since I have an Aussie that is shredding his winter coat like crazy. I easily went from floors to rugs and back with a simple roll of my thumb to activate the roller brush. I love the swivel of the handle and it is light and easy to maneuver. With plenty of battery life showing on the battery indicator, I continued up my hardwood stairs to the second floor. I did a quick pass on each step continued down the hardwood hallway and did both bathrooms floors. With still battery life to spare I did my bedroom rug and was mostly through my daughter's bedroom when the battery finally quit. This vacuum picked up everything from crumbs to dog hair to pieces of dried dog food on all surfaces. This vacuum is impressive for daily quick clean-ups. It beats dragging out my heavy Dyson which I will now save for when I have time for deeper cleaning. The dirt cup was easy to empty and holds a lot. I only emptied it when the battery quick. I did have to pull dog hair off the roller brush, but considering the amount in the cup I would have expected it to jam. Love this vacuum! With a 20 percent off coupon the price was great too!
