the best and easiest to use carpet cleaner

we have purchased several carpet cleaners, only to have them quit working after a couple of uses. Some of the other brands have a bladder that the water goes into, and this bladder always springs a leak. Very expensive to replace it. This Hoover, your carpet is dry almost immediatly. Has great suction and cleans perfectely. We loved this machine so much, we bought our daughter and fiance one for Christmas. She used it and said the suction was so great, she could see her carpet lifting. She loved it also. We both own dogs and this a great machine for pet owners

We have several dogs with health issues. Needless to say we thought our carpet was ruined. Our old carpet scrubber never really cleaned the carpet very well. We decided we needed to look for a better cleaner. I read the reviews and looked at the unit in the store, and my wife and I decided to give it a try. It was easy to put together and the cleanup is so easy. But let me say, THIS UNIT WORKS GREAT!!!!!!!!! It took our carpet that we thought was trash, and it took out all the stains! I would highly recommend this unit for anyone looking for a scrubber that works great!

    I like Hoover

The first Hoover carpet cleaner I had lasted 10 years. It had to suffer through me and several neighbors. The last machine I got was a bissell and I only used it 3 x but it was always breaking down. Igave it to a mechanic. I have gone back to Hoover (never to leave again). For this machine it is working good. I've only had it a short time, but I've cleaned several rooms, an office and a motor home. All at different times and the unit worked every time. The container is easy to fill and so far I have not had to read any instructions. Pretty simple to operate and clean. The only area I am concerned with is that the spray comes out strong and the vacuum does not seem to suck up the water as strong so the carpet takes longer to dry. For me it is a small price to pay.

    Great Carpet Cleaner

Bought this for my wife after she got me the dog that tracks in the mud we need to clean! Does a great job with getting out stains, even old stains that our old Bissell couldn't get out. The thing we like the most is the seperate tanks for water solution and dirty water makes clean up very easy. Our old Bissell had the bladder inside the dirty water which was very hard to clean around (and gross if you touched it). Wish it had a heater built in to make the water extra hot, and a power head attachment for the hose but don't have stairs to clean so doesn't bother me that much. Works great so far but we did get the 4yr Geek Squad Protection just in case (we have bad luck with floor care lasting) so we can get it fixed if something does go wrong. Hopefully this will be the last one we have to get.

I upgraded to this machine from a Bissell that I had. I was very happy that the Hoover is much more user friendly. I love how the clean water and the formula go in the same tank. They are separate but in the same container. The Bissell had the formula by itself and the clean water in a bladder in the dirty water tank. I love the scrubbers. They work so much better than the barrel scrubber of my Bissell. In fact, with the Bissell I had a problem with all the clumps of nasty carpet fibers coming off everywhere. I didn't have this issue with the Hoover. There is a quick poor cap on the dirty water tank. I like this because while cleaning you'll have to dump dirty water several times. It's annoying to have to take the entire thing apart each time. But with the quick poor cap you don't have to. You can dump quickly and easily and then take it apart at the end to clean it. Also, I was impressed with the performance. I was cleaning the carpet of both kids rooms. That will put any machine to the test. The carpets came out nice and very clean. I didn't have to overly use my spot scrubber either. I still used it, but the main cleaner got up most things. I'm sure it's because the scrubbers work better.

Easy to use .. love to two water reservoirs. Like the rotating brushes. Really does a thorough cleaning job. A bit expensive but you get what you pay for and this machine is worth the price.

    Good cleaner, poor workmanship

This is my second Hoover SteamVac product. As a multi-pet household, we deal with lots of dirt being tracked in, occasional accidents, and the rare sick pet. That amounts to a lot of use from these cleaners, sometimes daily use to perform just a spot clean. The biggest let-down has been in the engineering of the solution tanks: the valves at the bottom are simply designed poorly, and the attaching process causes solution to leak everywhere before you can clamp the tank down until you become a "Jedi Master". In our case, after some use, the valves would leak as we moved the tank from the tub to the machine (usually just a few feet, but the carpet may be soaked by then), leaving another area to clean before transporting the machine to the area we intended to use it. We finally gave up and just wrapped it in a towel every time we moved it anywhere. Our older SteamVac had the same problem, even after ordering a new tank from Hoover (which cost half the price of the machine). Today, after removing the tank, one of the valves came completely loose and dumped half a bottle of solution on the carpet. Needless to say, I'm exercising the extended warranty we purchased and buying another brand. It's a shame, too, because when it works it does clean well.

Best Carpet Cleaner I had in 47 years

I have owned a lot of rug cleaning systems over my 47 years as an adult and this is best engine ed cleaner that I have seen. Everything is in plain view once the waste tank is lifted out. There is access to the motor and heating system for easy repair. The suction system has higher pressure than I have seen on any cleaner and the water/cleaning solution spray pressure is higher than I have experienced. The rotation brushes are excellent on rugs and bare floors and snap out for easy cleaning! I wish it had a retractable power cord but that is for another machine. Refill of the cleaning solution tank is so easy and can be filled from the kitchen sink. Also there is an internal solution tank with in the main water tank with easy refill line for missing the deliver. The dirty water solution tank can be dumped in the toilet with ease or the sink if you dare. It is a great buy for the price and performance that is offered. It exceeded my expection and recommend it!

I bought this to clean my carpets more often than the once every few years trip to rent a unit at the grocery store. Surprisingly effective for a home unit. I like the auto-mix of the detergent. Easy to fill clean water, easy to dump dirty water. I like the upholstery hose and fitting. I cleaned our dirty garage stairs and it was a wonder the dirt that came out. Good for the dining room too. It extracts water very effectively so carpets dry within the day. All in all not bad ! Recommendable.

this is the 1st carpet cleaner i have ever owned, it was easy to figure out and to operate. the water coming out of the carpet looked pretty nasty even though our carpets did not look dirty and had been professionally cleaned just about 2 months earlier. i did a lot of research before buying this product... the only downfall is, me. in order for machine to work, I had to actually push it around...kind of like exercise equipment, you have to use it in order for it to work!

    Gets the job done

I had an older model that was a little less difficult to operate. This model improved the water-detergent handling, but, the deeper cleaning brushes cause the movement to be significantly harder to move the unit over carpets. Otherwise it does clean the carpets.

    Buy a different machine

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this yesterday, used it, returned it today. If you are thinking of replacing a bissell with this, don't! The Bissell's suction is WAY better. With this machine the soap and clean water are suppose to be separate, yet they find themselves in the same tank. The bottom reservoir that holds the dirty water does not sit on the base correctly. It also leaks water into the base after a while. If you want to get out little doggie paw prints, be prepared to go over it several times, and even then it may not come out. I was really disappointed with this machine, especially for what I paid for it, on sale or not! The water does not get hot even if you put hot water in it. The cord is way short so you have to relocate it as much as you have to empty the tank. Will be going back to Bissells since I can't afford those heavy duty Rug Docs or other commercial machines. The Bissell may have brought up a lot of dog and cat hair, but at least it brought it up!!! If you want real clean, skip these extractors.

    Spin Does Not Work

I have used a Hoover steamcleaner for the past 12 years and decided to upgrade to this model after my old cleaner finally gave out. This cleaner worked very well as far as the spray, suction, and hand-tool; but the spin brush did not work right out of the box. Since I paid extra for this feature, over the more basic model, I will be packing it up and returning it to the store today. I think I'll forgo the fancy features and go back to the basic model after this. But I'll check reviews more carefully before purchasing another steam cleaner.

Works great just like my Hoover vaccuum

I previously had a newer bissell that stop spraying water after the 2 times I used it. I LOVE my Hoover windtunnel Series T vaccuum and I thought I would give the steam cleaner a try. It works GREAT and it's very easy to use. Getting the clean water/cleaner solution tank and the dirty water tank out is very quick and easy. It does use a LOT of water/cleaner so I had to empty it about 10 times when I cleaned my living room, bedroom, and hallway carpets. Cleaning the unit afterwards is also very easy. Everything is accessible and the brushes just pull right off to clean them. The review is only after the first use - so If I have any problems I will be sure to add another comment here.

    Burned again

I had purchased a cheaper Hoover model first. After a few uses, the motor died so I decided to exchange it for this model. I've owned it for 7 months and it hasn't been used much. I only have carpet in 2 rooms of my house. Once the clean water is mounted and you turn the machine on, it instantly starts draining the clean water to the dirty tank without even squeezing the trigger. Hoover has improved on the attachments being easier to use but that is the only good thing about this cleaner. Even the attachment stopped spraying. Very disappointed in this cleaner.

    Okay but not the best

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The brushes did not spin initially, which appears to be a common issue, based on other reviews. However, take a Phillips screwdriver, remove the top (covering the gears) and make sure the spindle shafts are centered in their top cover slots, then reinstall the top. Problem solved, but still QC should have caught this before shipping. The unit is very heavy and my wife has to work to get it positioned. The front panel sticker says ‘forced heat’ when in reality the unit provides no additional heat input (it relies on the temperature of the hot water you added to the system). My wife rates its cleaning performance as 3.5 out of 5.0.

We bought the Max Extract in May. It is now history. It worked GREAT for about a month or so. Then it started going downhill. We cleaned it out and made sure to be careful with it but to no avail. We have bought another brand before this and are back to the other brand. We finally took it in to be looked at this weekend. We had bought the 4 year warranty. We know we are going to really use these machines, having multiple pets. The Guy we handed it to gave us a piece of paper saying we had a credit and to go pick out a new machine. This was our first fix. It seems that there are no parts to fix these things. Ours stopped suctioning up most of the water. Carpets were a soggy mess if we used it. Bye Bye Hoover.

Leaked dirty water after one use

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

What I liked: The 2 tank system is nice, the ones with the bladders of clean water inside the dirty water tank are gross and hard to clean. Dirty water was easy to pour out. Turns out....too easy! What I didn't like: The dirty water leaked out of the unit after using it once! I cleaned a small living room and bedroom carpet. Was working well so I decided since I had it out I'd do the seats of my car and test out the hose attachment. Turned it off and the next thing I know filthy water is leaking out the bottom of the unit. Good thing I didn't bring it back inside before emptying it, I'd have dirty water stains on my freshly cleaned carpets. I had a Bissel that lasted nearly 4 years, and when it broke, since I had a service plan I was able to get store credit towards a replacement. It seemed like a great deal, it was on sale and I even had store credit left over. I ended up using that store credit and paid a bit more to get another Bissel, as this unit was such a disappointment. Won't be buying another hoover product.

    Best Steam Cleaner to date

LOVE LOVE LVOE this steam cleaner. I have three over 100lb dogs and steam clean every week to every month depending on the time of year. This Steam cleaner has hands down out preformed all of the others. I rutinely went through one a year or just less than a year. This guy is two years old now and only recently the little plungers that hold in the water and detergent have broken. So I pour everything directly into the steamer but other than that I love it. Definately buy this

Does a great job. Glad I bought it since I have 2 indoor dogs my carpet gets dirty quickly. Just wish it had a bigger tank so I wouldn't have to empty the dirty water tank and refill it so often.
