    Surface Sweeper, not Blower

--- SETUP --- The setup for the Hoover Surface Sweeper is quick and painless. You have 3 components to work with and they are all self-explanatory as to where they go. The surface sweeper itself isn’t that heavy but definitely feels sturdy and durable. --- FEATURES --- The key feature of this sweeper is that it is cordless and that the included battery can be used with other products of the Hoover ONEPWR family. The battery also has a power indicator so that you know when it’s time to change or recharge the battery. --- PERFORMANCE --- The performance of this device is ok. There’s a reason that the name of it is a hard surface sweeper and not a blower. It is strong enough to push things that are on flat surfaces but don’t expect it to handle your entire lawn covered in leaves. --- EXPECTATIONS --- The product meets my expectations. Operation-wise, it’s simple to use. After installing a battery, there’s an on and off switch. The wind begins to blow and aim where needed. I use it to clear my surrounding home area of trash and debris. Because of it’s lightweightedness, I also take it to work to clear small pebbles and leaves from the traffic during my morning post. It has a small footprint and it is easy to store. --- APPROVAL --- I highly recommend this product for people who may have to clean up an area but have trouble bending over or may want to do it faster than sweeping.

The Hoover ONEPWR Cordless Hard Surface Sweeper is part of the model line which includes several Lithium Ion powered devices. The battery will power any of the other devices in the Hoover ONEPWR line (I also have a well reviewed cordless vacuum). This Surface sweeper comes with a smaller capacity battery - only 2.0 Ah, more on that later. As for assembly, it was fairly easy with three parts which fit together in addition to the slide it in battery pack. The unit only has one speed which is a bit disappointing, frankly a bit more in the RPM/velocity with a larger capacity battery might better solution. The "surface sweeper" is really a very lightweight (both in actual weight and also unfortunately in performance) leaf blower. I used this in my garage which gets a little sandy and during the fall, a few leaves in it on a windy day. This unit will take care of both, but it struggles with velocity and yields a mediocre blow. A few leaves or pine straw cleaned up fine (especially on a fairly smooth surface), but it takes a bit of skill to do anything more than that. A pile of twenty or so maple type leaves will be a bit more of a struggle, do-able but not really overly efficient. Another thing I found odd was the placement of the air intake, which was on the back of the unit. It takes a bit of adjustment as your shirt can get easily sucked into the intake (no worries though it is not a safety issue since the motor is not very powerful and the grate protecting object intake does the job). I guess the air intake is designed in a way to be able to accommodate the battery pack, but I still found the design a bit strange and required me to keep the unit on the side vs. in front of me. Pros: - Cordless - Lightweight Cons: - Not very powerful - Comes with a lower capacity battery in comparision to other ONEPWR devices - Air intake placement

Great Tool for Quick Blowing of Patios/Porches

Hoover has an available smaller-sized blower that is great for simple tasks and without the hassle of cords. It's the ONEPWR Cordless Hard Surface Sweeper. This is no broom. It's a mini blower. It comes with the unit itself, a ONEPWR Lithium ION battery pack, battery pack charger w/AC adapter, extension attachment, end attachment, and paperwork. PROS: ----------- * Like some other brands out there, Hoover has created an entire line of tools that operate off of one size battery attachment. This can be convenient; however, multiple batteries may need to be purchased as they wear out over time. This is a better option than having the battery built-in to the unit. No cords! * Very portable and lightweight. It can be propped up in a very small space with the charger being stored anywhere. It weighs only 4.8 lbs so it shouldn't be a strain even to smaller/shorter people out there that can't use heavy equipment. * While using, it has a comfortable grip. The end of the handle bends down which helps with it not being pushed back off your hand while in use. * Charge time for a completely empty battery is not bad. I was unable to monitor to the minute it completed, but did notice it took less than 1h 20m to recharge fully. * There is a battery charge indicator on the battery itself which can be checked on or off the unit. Between 1 and 4 dots indicate charge remaining. * There are 2 attachments - the end attachment and the long piece. You will use the end piece regardless; however, you can attach it to the long piece OR the base unit itself in the event the longer extension is not needed (ie. blowing off steps while going up the staircase, the short version may work better). * The ON/OFF switch stays on and off easily and can't be easily reversed as the sliding switch takes some force and clicks into place well. CONS: ----------- * For those that like for these tools to be hung, this tool is absent of that option. The only way for it to be hung would be for 2 "arms" shoot out about a foot from the wall spaced about 8" apart, you might be able to hand upside down (motor on top) since the end of the unit flares out. * The unit only has 1 speed blower. Having a speed 1/2 as strong for lighter-duty work might be useful and extend the use time. OTHER OBSERVATIONS: ----------------------------------- * This package comes with a 2.0Ah Li-ION battery but a longer-lasting 3.0Ah can be purchased (and recommended). * Hoover claims a 16-minute run-time with the 2.0Ah battery; however, I was only able to get MAX 14:45 out of mine and that was with the unit not moving. Times ranged from 14:30 to 14:40 mostly. Moving the unit will cause some side-to-side force on the rotating parts, so I would expect even further of a loss of time of use when using for a real job. This will usually be enough time for small jobs; however, if more time is needed, that extra battery will come in handy. * Keep in mind that this unit is NOT for serious yard work or for blowing leaves in the yard which it still can do to an extent. This unit is better used for maybe garage floors, patios, tennis courts, basketball courts - anything that has light debris on it that needs to be removed. And you need to be able to finish the job in 14 minutes if you only have 1 battery. * The charger has an AC cord length of 6 feet. It is not USB. CONCLUSION: =================== Overall, a nice product for the use that it's intended for - simple jobs that don't require a ton of air force or time. Since the product can be placed in an upright position, it can go just about anywhere out of the way. It's really great for the Fall when leaves can sometimes be annoyances on front porches or rear patios and using a broom is a hassle especially when trying to get behind grills, furniture, table legs, etc. Then if you have other Hoover cordless ONEPWR products, you may also rotate the battery(s) between products which is a convenience. My only gripe would be to give customers an original 3Ah longer-lasting battery instead of the 2Ah battery... and just have one battery for everything, giving everyone the quality of longevity from the start.

    Convenient, comfortable-to-use hard surface blower

With a not-so-gentle breeze, Hoovers blast away those leaves. Hoover is building a few cleaning devices around their powerful Lithium Ion battery. We already have their Floormate Jet (hard) Floor Cleaner/Vac, That cleaning and vacuuming device is my wife’s go-to tile wet vac. Both devices get around 20-30 minutes out of a battery charge. The batteries are interchangeable, so now we will have 2 available. If you’re looking for a convenient, comfortable-to-use hard surface blower, the Hoover sweeper is a nice tool. You do have to stay within its design goals. This sweeper has been fine for our purposes. This is a strong blower. We’ve been using it on our front and rear decks, the garage, and the driveway. It’s perfect for blasting dirt and dust out of crevices. I could imagine maybe using this for dry leaves around trees, but digging leaves out from under bushes or across a lawn is too much to expect. We found the blower to be nicely balanced in our hand and it’s easily the quietest blower in the neighborhood. The battery acts as a counter-balance to the “working end” of the blower, so it feels light enough for just about anyone to use. The extender nozzles (a longer and a shorter tube) fit on the blower using friction. They need to be forced together tightly or they will get knocked off. I only had that happen to me when I kept trying to grab and lift the blower by its nozzle end. I could also imagine using some silicon adhesive to make the fit more permanent. I long ago learned that separating appliance parts, even for storage, is a recipe for losing those parts and any attachments. Because the Hoover stands up on its motor end, storage has been really easy. Although, I can’t see having it too far from where we’ll be frequently using it. We’re finding the Hoover ONEPWR Cordless Hard Surface Sweeper to be very useful. It’s earned a permanent location in our garage.

Setting this up couldn't be easier, take it out of the box, slide all the pieces together, slap on the battery (well, charge it first), and you're good to go. Not counting the time to charge the battery, set up takes less than a minute. It is really light and easy to use, even a child could handle it. For the size it packs a decent punch too (you aren't going to replace that backpack leaf blower with this, but unless you absolutely need that kind of power, this will probably meet your needs). There are some drawbacks to this. While it is a lot quieter than a gas powered blower, it is noisier than the corded electric blower that it replaced. Also, it really seems like this was designed to have interchangeable nozzles (which actually would be useful), but it seems that the only reason for the modular design is for better packing in the box. Bit of a shame that this modular design wasn't better taken advantage of. Also, the battery is rated for 16 minutes, and that is really all you will get. So, if you have a small property and don't need something that is going to last for extended periods of time and you don't need professional grade power, this is a great product, and I'd highly recommend it. Just make sure that you are who the product is designed for before buying it.

WELL MADE – LOW VELOCITY OF AIR FLOW

WELL MADE – LOW VELOCITY OF AIR FLOW REVIEW: Hoover - ONEPWR Cordless Hard Surface Sweeper BEST BUY Tech Insider Network SUMMARY: THIS IS NOT A HIGH POWER LEAF BLOWER. That is not what it is supposed to be. It is primarily for “sweeping” a hard surface using a lower velocity of air. To that extent, it works well for what it is intended. In the past I “Swept” the garage with my leaf blower, it worked, but filled the air with dust and debris, let alone exhaust that filled the garage and the attic. Due to its lower velocity this gently blows the dust without creating a hurricane of dust in the air. I will use this for light cleaning in the garage, front porch, back porch. UNBOXING: INITIAL IMPRESSIONS: Well packaged and each to unbox and put to immediate use. I charged the battery and was good to go. I did not read the direction, but it was not needed and self evident how the few parts go together. It was a confusing on the box that said something about extra power, which made me think it had 2 batteries, but it only has one, which is fine. I like that it can stand up resting on the battery so that it takes less space when not in use. PERFORMANCE / EASE OF USE: It is easy to use, a total non-brainer. Turn on and point. It did a good job cleaning the garage and porch, but it does struggle with heavier objects. See pictures for what was left behind that were too heavy for this. Powder Dry Leaves – OK. Fresh / Wet Leaves – NO. Dust OK, Spider Webs – NO. Saw Dust OK. Bits of plastic – NO. Again, these are not necessarily negatives, it is the trade off vs making a hurricane blower. SUMMARY: Overall, I found it simple and easy to use. It will be my go to blower for light duty jobs. I would recommend it for its intended use.

This Hoover ONEPWR sweeper is super lightweight which exactly what I need. ONEPWR battery is convenient to work with all Hoover products that are powered by same battery. I have other Hoover ONEPWR - powered products which makes it very convenient to keep having battery and never go out of charge. Blowing is strong to sweep debris and not too loud. Great investment.

    Great for lite duty “sweeping”

The product is marketed as a sweeper, not a blower. If you need something to help do lite cleaning such as blowing some leaves, sawdust/dust off a small patio or work area this works great. But I would not recommend if you need something for heavy duty yard work. Positives; Very easy to put together – just slide the tubes onto the handle/fan, slide in the battery (mine came 50% charged), and you are ready to roll. Battery is 2.0Ah, but you can get a 3 or 4 Ah optionally. Comes with battery charger and took less than an hour for full charge from 50%. To check battery charge there is a button on end of battery that when pushed shows 1 – 4 lights for charge left. I found it to be nicely balanced and not very loud during operation. Has a slide on/off switch so you don’t have to hold button down to operate for extended periods of time. My runtime was pretty constant at 14 minutes 25 seconds. Can be stored on its end to save space. 3 year warranty Negatives Only one power selection Battery does not show charge left while running. You have to push button to light up 1 – 4 lights to show charge. Watch out you don’t get your shirt sucked up in the back intake. Not for heavy duty work If you need something relatively small, lightweight and cordless for lite duty cleanups around the house this would do nicely.

The Hoover OnePwr Cordless Blower, for me, is only good for small jobs. It works good for cleaning leaves off cars, walkways, driveways, patios and decks. I wouldn’t try to use it for my lawns. First of all, it isn’t that strong a blower. It’s more like a cordless sweeper than a blower. The 2.0Ah battery that comes with it worked fine for me for the 20min that I used it for. You can buy 3.0 and/or 4.0Ah battery to extend your blowing time. This is the only Hoover cordless item I have so I don’t know about switching the battery for other Hoover cordless items. It did do a nice job on the wet leaves on my walkway and sidewalk. Better than sweeping them with a broom. It’s light weight, easy to put together and take apart for storage. I just stored mine back in the box. I tried to use it for the gutter around my garage and it worked OK, but not great. The pine needles were a little harder to blow as they were wet and clumped together but the Hoover OnePwr eventually blew them out. It will blow out short (less than 8 feet) downspouts, but any longer than that, then the power isn’t really enough. It only has one speed which is OK, but I like my 3-speed corded blower better. I can control the amount of blowing power with more speeds. I’d only recommend this if you have only small areas that need to be cleaned off. If you want to do your lawn, you’re better off with either a gas blower or a corded one with more than one speed.

    Less Time Doing Chores

Yard work, is yard work. I know some people find their moment of Zen when working on their yards/gardens, but I have not reached that level yet. So, anything that makes doing yard chores quicker or easier is a serious bonus. This Sweeper by Hoover definitely fits both of those criteria. So, to begin with, this is obviously much, much easier than usually a traditional broom/push broom for sweeping up our garages, sidewalks, and patios. Charges fairly quickly, my only recommendation for improvement would be to allow for a little longer use on a charge. It’s fairly light, relatively quiet compared to some other blowers/sweepers I’ve used in the past. Now I know this is probably just because it’s a new toy, but my sons have even volunteered to clean up the back patio and garage just to get to use this. I would recommend this to anyone looking to make clean-up quicker. Easy to use, easy to store, and cuts down on time doing chores.

The Hoover OnePwr Cordless hard surface sweeper/blower is perfect to pull out for quick small jobs like blowing off your porch before company comes. It is able to do more than that - but it lightweight and easy to use for those times you need to pull it out for a quick clean up. It is very easy to put together - it has three pieces that easily slide together. The battery charges fast and is simple to install. It does not have the same power as a gas or electric blower - but it is good enough to blow the grass clippings and leaves from a 2500 sq ft home with still plenty of battery left. The one thing that could be done a little better is the way the nozzles attach to one another - they just slip on to each other - they do not lock into each other. You can not pick it up from the nozzle because they are not secured to each other in a locking format. That is the only thing that could be done better with this unit.

I was excited about using this blower once it was ordered, and, was nicely surprised at how nice the entire line of cordless products from Hoover are. This blower is small, easy to handle, and works well for small/lightweight items on your driveway/patio/lawn. But, don't expect this to replace a gas blower, or plug in blower, as this just doesn't have enough power to handle wet/heavy items.. I live in the desert, so grass/leaves/wet items aren't an issue for me, but if you live somewhere where those things are what you want a blower to be able to handle, this is not the item for you; otherwise, its a nice, light duty product that is easy to use, and works well for what it is..

    Time Saver

This is great for quick jobs and touch ups. Power - This is not as powerful as a blower, but it works great for cement or brick surfaces. I had no problem clearing leaves and dust, blowing them back into the yard, even along the street which has a raised curb. I found it useful in the garage as well, with enough power to blow out grass and leaves that always seem to slip in, but not blowing everything around like my gas blower (no fumes either). Noise - not as noisy as my gas powered gear, but not quiet either. I would compare it to a household vacuum. Battery - I got a consistent 14 min of run time, which was enough to sweep my porch, patio, walk, curb, and driveway. I did have a little range anxiety at first, but it sure beats a broom. I found that it took a little less than an hour and half to reach full charge from empty. The performance was also fairly consistent as the battery discharged. Design - My 11 year old called it fun and loves sweeping the walk. I credit this to it being so much lighter and less cumbersome than a traditional blower. The handle feels well balanced. The bottom is flat, which allows it to be stored upright and is a real space saver. The battery is easy to remove. The switch placement is straight forward. I do wish the charger was more clear that it was done charging (it only has a small light that shuts off when it is done charging) and I wish that the battery level was easier to check when in use (you have to press a shallow button on the battery itself and the level is displayed by 4 dots for a few seconds). I would recommend this sweeper, it actually works great as a companion to my gas blower. I can get light task done with out worrying about gas, oil, and fumes. I could also see it working for anyone who has a small patio or short walk they want to keep clean.
