It does not come close to the performance of the Platinum machine. This unit has the good brush system and that is a plus. I had to go over a single area over and over again for it to actually clean the carpet. It has a small water reservoir and collection system. It has a manual rinse and wash switch. For the money this unit felt like a toy. In all fairness I have an older carpet so if you have a newer carpet this touch up unit may be right for you. To clean an entire house I would pass on it.

I am not sure it happen because our carpet was so dirty. But it does pick up dirt from the carpet very very well.
