Customers are saying
Customers have good things to say about the Power Path Pro Advanced Cleaner's cleaning performance, ease of use, lightweight design, and suction. Many appreciate its affordability and the useful attachments. However, some users mention challenges with the water tank filling up quickly and issues with the seal. Overall, the positive feedback on cleaning ability and ease of use outweighs the reported concerns.

Love this product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I are both impressed with this product..We have an older hoover that just did okay but this one really gets in there and cleans the carpet..We live in the Midwest and winters can be brutal which means our carpets can get pretty dirty..I really can't think of anything negative to say other than the water reserve is small which results in a few trips but that is with just about any cleaner that I have noticed. The cleaning abilities out ways the small tanks.

Best carpet cleaner I have owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This if the 4th carpet cleaner I have owned - second Hoover. My last one was a Bissell It was a actually pretty good, maybe on par with this one as far as cleaning goes. Where this one excels is the ease of use. I really don't know if anyone can make it any easier for someone to use a carpet cleaner - seriously. This thing is just a breeze! Adding solution and water is extremely quick, easy, and effortless. Removing the dirty water is even easier. Switching from solution to water only is a quick dial twist. Just simple. And the thing does a great job cleaning. It's also light, but very sturdy - good build quality. The only thing I didn't like was the Hoover cleaning solution. I think the Bissel professional formula smells much better and produces more suds. That has nothing to do with the cleaner itself, though - just a personal preference.

Easy to Use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just purchased this today. I had it out of the box and using it in about 15 minutes. It removed spots (urine) from dogs and some blood spots (from a raw spot on our dog). It left our carpet clean and smelling fresh. I absolutely couldn't believe how easy it was to use. If you're looking at reviews, wondering which one to buy, this is it!

Left carpet soaked!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It took three days for my carpet to dry. Too much water injected and not enough suction to extract!

Posted .Hi Karter! If your unit is experiencing a loss of suction, please try this: check the filter that is located on the top of the dirty water tank. After checking, make sure that the tank snaps into placed and is secured. You can also removed the front nozzle plate and check for clogs. When reassembling, make sure to hook the nozzle under the machine to secure it in place. Hope this helps! -Michael, Hoover Customer Care

Posted .Hi Tcoo! Your Power Path Pro may release the water left over in the valves that isn't pushed out through the trigger. To prevent this, we recommend emptying the tanks after use and then pumping the trigger to release any left over water. If you're still having issues, we recommend bringing the cleaner, along with a copy of your receipt, in to your nearest Hoover repair center. For locations in your area please visit: https://hoover.com/locator/. We hope this helps! ~Kenya, Hoover Customer Care

Great cleaning and maneuverability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this cleaner and was a bit skeptical considering its light weight and being new model. To my surprise, it worked very well! Really cleaned deeply and the carpets dried in about three hours thanks to the heated drying and good suction. If I were to purchase again, it would be the XL version, which has a larger tank.

be ready to dig fibers and hair out of intake slot
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We are giving up on this machine since after a big job it has clogged the intake, and the swirling brushes are surrounded by hair, carpet fibers, etc. We have to roll the brush opposite direction after laying it on our kitchen island, I put a paper towel in to help removed debris, and work it by your fingers. It will roll out a ton of debris, but the slot that is the air intake is very narrow and you will need thin metal strip to try to get the crud out. Yes we vacuum before we use it. I also get about a quart back from every gallon applied, carpet stays wet a long time. It does work, but so will you. Going to try bissell big green, may have the same problems, but I am betting not. It is in transport as I write this.. I should tell you the good part, the hose and small 6 inch head work great.

Best carpet cleaner I have owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dare I admit this is the third carpet cleaner I have owned? The last one we actually went up in flames! (Thankfully the wet carpet put it out!) Standing in the middle of soggy carpet that smelled like an electrical fire I did a quick check of Consumer Reports and headed off to Best Buy to purchased this carpet cleaner. I love the fact that the cleaning solution is in a separate section and that you can clean/refresh/rinse your carpets with just hot water. Between keeping our sliding doors open almost year round (we live in So Cal), three indoor/outdoor cats, and a mechanic husband who sometimes forgets to take off his work shoes, I use this cleaner a lot! The first time I used it I was was thrilled... no I take that back... I was horrified about how much lint, dirt and soap (left over from our last carpet cleaner where you mixed the solution in with the water) it picked up. I will admit that the carpet lint/cat hair that it pulls up tends to build up in the front brush and when I am done cleaning I do take the extra time thoroughly clean the machine-- which is why I rated the machine 4 and not 5 stars. Also, one person mentioned the carpet seemed super wet after cleaning. I have had this happen too and try to spend more passes trying to suction up the water, but in the end I just point a pedestal fan at the floor. Hey... we are cleaning with water, right?

Surprised at the clean
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Instructions were easy to understand. Press trigger during the wash cycle to release solution and water. Press trigger during rinse cycle to take up the solution and dirt. Simple to dump out and refill the gallon tanks. Good engineering job.

Very Good Cleaner
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have cleaned 5 large rooms with this carpet washer. The carpets hadn't been cleaned in months and were very dirty. The machine did as good a job as any rental that I've used in the past. It has almost paid for itself already. One point deduction for a loose gasket on the dirty water tank cover. It must be a common problem. I see others have complained about this flaw as well. However, I contacted Hoover Customer Service to see if it was covered under warranty. It was!! A big thumbs up to the CS rep who did everything that he could to rectify the problem. Courteous, professional and responsive. I am extremely pleased with this purchase.

would not recommend
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This cleaner only picks up about two thirds of the water not good. I used my broken hoover that only works in reverse now to suck up the other third. I have owned three hover carpet cleaners in twenty years and this one is horrible. If I had new carpet I would have had hoover buy me new carpet. The other cleaners have five round brushes than clean the carpet nice. This one has an extra straight roller in front that frayed the carpet badly :( The instructions say go over the carpet a lot to suck up more water but by doing this it really frays the carpet and still leaves the carpet soaked . I would have thought a company would make things better not worst . The best model to buy is hoovers F7412900 this carpet cleaner is very easy to use and is amazing !!! it will pick up every drop of water. I hope this helped !!!

Good price, easy use, hard to clean-up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a moderate-use household unit, this isn't bad. We've blown through similar Bissell products & thought we'd give this Hoover a try. THE GOOD - no tool assembly out of the box. Super easy. Love it. The water tank and cleaning solution reservoir have pretty good top-fill openings with very accessible caps. The dirty-water container detaches pretty smoothly, easy to empty, and can be a little tricky to click back into place but overall not bad. THE BAD AND UGLY. This is what really killed it for me personally. After you're all done with the rug, you can rinse out the main water tank and even the dirty-water tank without much trouble. HOWEVER, the rollers are a whole other mess. IF you have a pet (I have a large short-hair dog (Doberman)) the roller unit does not detach. I lift the whole cleaner, invert it upside-down in a deep sink, then by-hand dig out all the hair boogers and clumps while running water over the roller brush and manually turning the rollers. That's a bit of an exercise and a big mess. If you don't have the luxury of a utility deep sink - Eww. You won't want to do this over your kitchen sink, that's for sure. In closing - Price was far. Filling and using the cleaner is simple. The major downfall is the clean up is almost more of a chore than cleaning the rug itself. Recommend Hoover design a detachable roller unit/suction head assembly for rinsing off after using and this rating would leap up to 4 or 5 stars immediately.

Caveat Emptor!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought this item today. Be careful when unpacking! I read and followed the directions carefully. But they left out a few items, like that there is cardboard packing in the base piece (where the brushes are). I was desperate to use this, as sewage has backed up into my home, exploded out my bathroom fixtures, and gotten into the carpet outside the bathroom. That doesn't make one extraordinarily cautious, though as I said, I read and followed the actual directions carefully. As soon as I've rested from the first attempts, I now have to go "try again." (The cardboard eventually worked its way out and made itself known.) I'm not saying it doesn't work well or that I wouldn't recommend it. Just that I'm a lot more cautious than I was only a little while ago. The jury is out. but I will answer yes re: whether I would recommend it, because so far I believe it is trying to do what it is supposed to do.

Cleans well but cheaply made
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am on my second cleaner of this model. The first one I had amazed me to no end. Having owned multiple cleaners in the past, this one seemed to clean better and having the separate formula and water chambers was a plus. It was easier to remove and refill both the clean and dirty water compartments. The first one, however, stopped working due to a seal issue and would no longer suck up water. That was after having around 2 years. I bought a second one in June of 2017. I used it once and then put it away. Upon the second time using it in November, the Spinbrush attachment broke. There is one spinbrush that inserts into the machine in order to rotate---this became detached from the spinbrush bar. After calling Hoover, I was told this was not a warranty issue as it is a "wearable" part such as a belt. The replacement part is 66.00. I am currently deciding on using my protection plan on going with a Bissel instead as they look like they have some better reviews.

Worked Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this carpet cleaner because of the two kinds of brushes and when I used it the carpet cleaner did better than I expected. Was very pleased! The only thing I can say I didn't like was putting the lower tank back on. It can be a little tricky but not a big deal.

Do not buy this model or any of the new "Pro Modes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.while this shampooer does an amazing job cleaning the carpets, it does not carry enough weight over the suction path to pull water back out of the carpet. 75% of the wash water will remain on the carpet even after many slow passes back and forth. The only way to get it to suck up water is to return the handle to the upright position and push forward on the handle while using your foot to scoot the shampooer over the carpet. If you do it this way, it will suck the carpets almost completely dry. however, this is very time consuming, slow and unacceptable for a unit that costs this much. I have had multiple Bissels, and two hoovers, this is by far the deepest clean for the carpets, the worst for sucking up the water and the worst to clean.

P.O.S. Gear drive assembly broke
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Hoover carpet cleaner and used it three times. It said it was recommended for pets, which I have, and a lot of carpeted area to clean. It was awesome the first (only) three times I was able to use it. Went to use it today and the belt started smelling like it wss burning. So I took the belt cover off to see what was wrong. Well, this eventually turned into removing every single screw on the lower unit where the brushes are located. I cleaned it thoroughly, removed all hair and possible hang ups. Still didn't work. Finally found that the gear box assembly was seized. The main drive belt turns a shaft which is attached to another belt that turns the rotary brushes to clean the carpet. This belt passes over a ball bearing to assist in tension but the problem is that it also has water and soap from the floor passing it over too. With dirt and grime and liquid, well the bearing got clogged and jammed, the secondary belt created heat from friction and caused the gear shaft to partially melt the plastic gears inside the plastic gear box...at least that is what I was able to ascertain. Well this shaft goes into a plastic housing with plastic gears and a little but of grease and it's not a closed cell either, so how does the manufacturer propose to keep debris out of it?? Once I had it completely dissambled and cleaned and found the problem, I brought it back to Bestbuy to return it. The general manager told me that he could not return it due to it being in pieces and dissambled. After a few arguments back and forth, which to his credit he held his cool very well with a very disgruntled customer, I reluctantly reassembled it on one of their countertops in the appiance section, out of the way of customers shopping and in peace and quiet. No one bothered me while I did the work which was nice. The GM did offer to help carry the pieces, but my disgruntled self told him that I was able to carry it.from the parking lot like this and told him I thought I could manage making it around the corner. He did help difuse the situation, but he never did come back around once I was back at the customer service desk to thank you or dont ever come back or even have a nice day. Overall, dont buy this piece of junk carpet cleaner.
