I have 2 dogs, allergies, and asthma. I've had pets all my life and always use a rug scrubber. This is the worst one EVER!!! The brushes are powerful and will lift the knap on the carpet but it will NOT suck the water up. This is a HUGE health hazard!! Leaves the rug soaking wet with dirty water, the water will rot your rugs and the floor underneath leaving you with mold!! RUN AWAY FROM THIS!! Test it for yourself. Use a full canister of water and got out less than 1/3 of the water back out of the rugs. All my other carpet cleaners pulled 2/3 of the water back out leaving them only slightly damp. This rug scrubber leaves my rugs soaked...takes 2-3 days to dry! Not to mention the stench of wet carpet..

I have owned many carpet cleaners. I like Hoover much more than Bissell. I have had this carpet cleaner for only 2 months and last week while I was using it, the handle broke off and plastic pieces went flying off the machine. I have contacted Hoover since it is under warranty, but have not gotten a response. So disappointing.

Really like the ability to apply soap/water or just water. Dried quick and no soapy residue. Machine is narrow, so a little longer but worth the great cleaning power.

I used this cleaner one time and half way through cleaning the stairs the pump on the hose stopped working. I followed the directions to prime the pump to no avail. Unfortunately the Hoover customer service line is not open late or on weekends to assist it's customers.

Purchased my first one, only used a couple of times then noticed the sprayers were not working properly, the water was coming out in a stream instead and only that line on the carpet was cleaned. Returned it for a second one ( I like the self heated water idea) and the same thing. Only used a few times and now the sprayers are not working and the carpet looks so dirty.

on our third one in under six months, first one the hande broke on first use, second one the scrubbers stopped working first use, third one wouldnt power up after first use. never again. returning it for a bissel tomorrow.

Cleaned... When it worked. Turbine that rotates brushes stopped after 2 uses. Has been at the repair shop for 2 months. The part is on backorder. Called customer service-on hold for 15 minutes. Left number for return call-never received.

I bought it for my girlfriend and she absolutely liked it. It doesn't leave the carpets soaking wet like other carpet cleaners.

Opened the box, put it together today. Bought this cleaner to replace a 9-year old Hoover that finally quit working. After about an hour of use, the motor started making a sound like one of the nuclear emergency sirens close to the house. Called CS and she said that it sounds like the motor has quit working correctly. It was cleaning nicely when it was working. I now have to make another trip to BB to swap it out, according to the directions Hoover CS gave me. Not sure if I want to try another one or not.

Seems to do the job but it seems like the cleaner does not get a good suction

Handle broke after light use over a 5 period. Thank you Best Buy for replacing. Handle attachment design is weak at best with two screws holding the handle to the body.

I was so excited to get this. The first time it worked great. The second time I used it, the water drained out of the reservoir completely as soon as I connected the reservoir tank to the cleaner. I called customer service and they told me that a gasket or seal around a valve for the reservoir tank was broken and that they would send me a new one. Great, Tried it again -- same problem. The water just pours out of the bottom.

After unboxing the product and assembling it, I set out to do some upholstery cleaning. I hooked up the hose and set to work. I immediately found that the trigger on the hose to discharge the water mix was a little sticky. It wouldn't turn off when I let go of the trigger. After roughly 20 minutes of use, I would manually have to attempt to grab the back of the trigger and lift it up so water would no longer spray. Sometimes this didn't even work. Meanwhile, the hose would be discharging a TON of water in every direction. This is a deal breaker for me. You need to use this hose for all of the hand tool attachments, and if the trigger is going to stick and unreliably discharge water, I cannot use this device. This product just felt cheaper than my old carpet cleaner, and the accessories felt extremely flimsy compared to my older Bissell Pro-Heat. I am extremely displeased with this product.

OK, the carpets needed a really good clean, but 4 applications to get it reasonably clean? Also, no good for hard floors.

Worked okay. Suction not great. Now it’s been 3 years. But a part ($60 to replace) broke on it and the brushes now won’t spin. Bad design to use suction to spin the brushes.

I was fooled by all of the positive reviews on this machine and was debating between the very expensive bissell big green carpet cleaner and this one. I ordered this and when it came I assembled it which by the way was missing the two screws that was supposed to attach the handle to the machine. I decided to use it anyway and not only did it NOT clean my carpets but you couldn't even tell when the water would come out of the machine when pressing the spray button. i tried over and over again on top of the fact that the handle kept popping off of the machine because the lack of the screws that hoover forgot to put inside the box. The handle eventually landed on my foot the next time and I ended up with a nasty bruise and I still had a dirty carpet. Even the simple of stains could not be removed by this machine so I have no use for it.

The attachments on this don't work. The cleaner / water just come spilling out and make a huge mess. We just bought this 30 days ago and didn't use it right away. I contacted Best Buy and they were very short and just said we were outside the 15 day window even with damaged items. Nothing they can do.

Used this cleaner twice and on the third time just quit running and now nothing. Very disappointed, as I too read a lot of the positive reviews for this cleaner.

Bought it 7 months ago and it will no longer power on. I used it on Monday, on Friday it would not turn on.
