There was a lingering smell in the house, especially in hot weather. We used this deep cleaner, and it did make a big difference! Would want the unit to be a little more maneuverable, and that you wouldn't need to empty out the dirt water and refill clean water that often, but that's just the law of physics.

It is also lighter weight than some others we have had.
