I ordered this vacuum after my Dyson died. Thankfully i used bestbuy rewards making it about $30 bucks. I have 4 dogs (3 are corgis) and 1 cat, so i put the term 'pet' to the test. Here's my breakdown: Pros: The rotating brush attachment actuality works, and works well; unlike the attachment on every other vacuum îve had. The vacuum itself has a lot of suction, so much that i ran over the power cord once while vacuuming, and it chewed the cord up pretty good. (Is this a pro?) A little electrical tape and it's fine. Cons No cord storage release. You know that little piece of ancient technology - the one that when you wrap the cord up after use, all u have to do to release it is turn the little hook? This one is fixed, it doesnt turn, leaving you to unwind the cord like an animal. I never realized how much i would miss that simple feature. The canister release sucks. First of all, the release button is toward the bottom of the canister, and for me, when you do open the bottom, the contents (copious amounts of dog hair) doesn't release. I have to twist the clear part off of the top to get the contents to dump out, then reassemble it -its a whole to-do. Poor design for a 'pet' vacuum. Otherwise it's an 'ok' vacuum. I would probably spend a little extra money and get the next level up.

After being less than satisfied with a Dirt Devil, this Hoover is quite awesome indeed...Sucks up everything in its path!!!!!

Easy to assemble, use, and empty. It works great. The model I purchased is the one with no power cord reel system.

Got this vacume for our 1st apartment. Works great!

This vacuum works great for pet hair. Our house has both hardwood and carpeted floors and it handles both with ease. Power is more than sufficient and the storage container is easy to empty and reattach. I highly recommend.

This is honestly the best vacuum possible. Picks up everything first time. The hand tool for furniture is amazing. The rubberized combs on it moves with the suction and grab just about anything, especially pet hair.

i got my vac yesterday. i started out using the aboveground accessories, and the room was very sunny. i noticed some pet hair and dust coming from (blowing out of) the hole where you would "click in" the hose when you're done with it, but even more so when you turn it back on. the static from the unit caused all of that dust and hair to collect an the outside of the canister. this happens every time, even after emptying the canister. i called hoover customer service, and they were no help at all. i love everything about my new vac that i resolved to just stuff a rag in the hole when i'm using the hose. i have 2 dogs and 8 cats (all indoor/outdoor) and had neglected my carpets for a long time. i am amazed how much crud it pulled out of my carpet!

I just bought the vaccuum today for $69.99. I had a Hoover Presto before and it worked fine, but stopped charging. It is annoying that the chord trails after the vacuum, but I couldn't find another product comparable to the Presto in regards to what I was willing to spend. I am NOT disappointed! The chord is a nuisance, but it picked up EVERYTHING! Please keep in mind, I had not vacuumed in over a month. (Don't judge me.) I hadn't made the time to go purchase a new one. I am very satisifed with it. I hope it lasts.

This is a good, almost great vacuum - especially for the price Pros: - does the job. - strong suction, accessories seem good (haven't used them all) - not crazy loud - large and easy to remove canister Cons: - Short(er) cord - No Light on the front (personally I like the lights) - Little on the heavy side For those two reasons it gets 4 stars in my book. Overall very pleased so far. 2 days in.

While I'm generally a Hoover vacuum fan (price/performance), this Best Buy exclusive model UH70817 has a canister gasket problem built in. I would avoid purchasing it. You will notice that the vacuum emits a lot of floor dust back into the air covering the outside of the vacuum unit and everything else. The canister doesn't separate the vacuuming and vacuumed, i.e. the sealer gasket around the canister that separates the vacuum suction chamber and the waste canister does not seal properly. This problem happened immediately. Unfortunately, we didn't return it soon enough. You take your chances for a very frustrating experience. Otherwise the vacuum power is typical Hoover (good).

This vacuum does exactly what it claims, nothing more. Great suction power. The easy to remove dirt tray is really convenient. It is a bit heavy and bulky, but for the price, it is a great vacuum. I use it in a 1 bedroom apt and the cord is long enough so I don't need to unplug it. I use it for hardwood floors and a big rug, no problems at all. Great product considering it is under $100

Love this vacuum cleaner. I was using a small Electrolux rechargable one that I thought was doing the job on the small amount of carpert that I have...boy was I wrong. The amount of dust that this one picked up is incredible, I can't believe i thought my carpet was clean all this time.

Does a great job vacuuming up pet hair and normal carpet cleaning. Very good attachments.

I've had this vac. 2 weeks, used it 9 times now. at this point it is the best vac. I've ever had. the suction is GREAT it really grip's the carpet. the first time it filled the dirt cup completely with what my old vac. was not getting. my first hoover. surprise for me it is my favorite color.

This machine does everything it say's and more! Get one!

Bought this in December '14 to replace a vac that had no attachments. The design is not that great, the power switch is not in an intuitive place--not near the top handle, not on the bottom near the release for the brushroll, its on the same column midway down between there the cord is stored and the hose is wrapped around. The hose is not long enough, even with the extensions to even reach the window sills and the tension in the hose makes it awkward to handle. Took more than a few passes to pick up regular dust/debris found on the rug, my old vac (of a different brand) did better than that. Stuck with the vacuum because of the attachments but about a month ago, I started having issues with the brushroll. It makes a squeaky sound, skips, and it doesn't brush the rug any kind of way. I wish I could get my money back.

Bought this on Thanksgiving, came home, put it together in less than 5 minutes, and proceeded to vacuum for the next hour. Worked great. I hvae large Doberman's and cats, and it picked up so much hair and dirt. Was very pleased. Definitely worth the price!

While this does a great job of picking up pet hair, we have now had 2 handles break on us within 1.5 years. We are now exchanging it for another brand.
